Over the weekend, when I'm not busy partying, I often head over to the IRC channel and get together with a group of weirdos who are so jealous of my amazingness that they pretend to be Gunnerkrigg Court characters. It's usually two or three other people besides Me. Now, our operation is small, but there's a lot of potential for...aggressive expansion. (breaks pool cue over knee) HAHAHAHAHAHAH oh, that cracks me up. I'm always such a practical Joker.You should join them! More minions is always better (and more confusing)! As with any activity I see fit to inject my divine presence into, it tends to get rather chaotic. We haven't nailed down an exact time, but it's usually one of the nights of the weekend. It typically occurs around 3 AM GMT (before midnight for most of America) so if you can make it then come on down and roleplay! |

We sometimes hijack the IRC for a roleplay over the weekend, and it's lots of fun. Feel free to drop by, either in character or out! We're chill, and there's really no rules haha. Just to make sure that we don't have too much repetition of characters, before you show up, try to mark who you'll be RPing as on the poll that LC put above. Then when the roleplay ends, make sure to come back and uncheck it so that someone else could claim that character for the next one. Although this is a little pointless because people often switch around during the roleplay anyway, haha. Thanks! |

Secrecy is an individual choice! 3. If you don't understand how roleplay works then please figure it out before participating. I'm not really a roleplayer, I just interact with the RPers as myself and only occasionally go IC. |

Anonymity is not necessary, but some roleplayers appear to prefer it. As far as I can tell, here's how they do it: When you log in to the IRC, it displays some info about you, including your IP. It's easy if you just log in under another nick to compare IPs and link your In-Character account to your Out-Of-Character account (if you have one on the IRC.) The online client linked in my sig and in Lord Coyote's initial post will NOT hide your IP, however these clients will. 1. KiwiIRC. This will hide your IP, but it will also generate a unique log-in heading or whatever the technical term for it is and keep that for you. So, people will always be able to tell it's you that's roleplaying, but they won't be able to link it to your IP or any other information. (It's sort of like it generates a static username, independant of your current IRC nick.) If that makes sense. kiwiirc.com/client Go here. Under channel, enter #gunnerkrigg. Under nickname, enter the character you want to roleplay as. Then, go to www.quakenet.org/servers. Copy the server that it says is closest to you, and go back to the KiwiIRC tab. Click "server and network" and paste in the server IP and click start to log on. 2. WSIRC: This one will always use the same log-in message for everyone so it's a little more private as far as roleplaying goes. www.wsirc.com/ just find Quakenet using the search, enter #gunnerkrigg and your nick. This client provides no way to link one roleplay character to another except that they used this client, so the more people use it the more private it is. Offline clients probably won't hide your IP either, although there may be a way to make them do that - I wouldn't know. Hope this helps! |

For future reference, if I say there's a roleplay going on, then there's a roleplay going on until I make a post saying that it has ended, and sometimes it can even be resurrected after that. This one is still going.

I thought I already posted the transcript... I know I already edited it, and I don't really feel like doing it again. Instead, sometime soon I'll post all of the transcripts we have so far including that one (if I can find it or copy a new one from my IRC log.) It's a bit late to work on that right now, though.
