You know, considering literally everyone in Queslett at Zimmy's grade just got sucked into her head, I wonder if people are going to start actively resenting her after all this. I mean, I know she wasn't exactly anyone's favorite before, but I just sorta get the feeling this isn't the type of thing you just let bygones be bygones about. I hear warping reality is a good way to go from "That creepy girl" to "That red-eyed monster". I hope not - they all know she was essentially tortured by the robots until she snapped. All of them should be familiar with the fact that some powers are dangerous. Yeah but she decided to go on the boat which put everyone in danger. Kind of a bad move. Makes for a good chapter though

When has Zimmy changed forms in Zimmingham? She became Annie that one time, though I guess it was just from her own perspective, since Gamma recognised her instantly.

Uh...I have realized something...
1.-Jack hasn't gotten over Zimmy, as proved by the fact that he reacts so strongly to her, and that he has chosen a girlfriend who is as close to Zimmy as possible while still being a pretty human girl (pale skin, dark hair, mystic power, gothy...etc.). 2.-Jack special ability apparently is technological. 3.-The ship is computer. It has gone gaga over an impossible, unrequited love very much like that Jack used to feel for Zimmy. 4.-Jack and his girlfriend have put into place a plan for this exact situation very quickly, as if they knew what was going to happen before he even met Zimmy. If that plan succeeds, it may make the Court to acknowledge Zimmy as too great a menace to keep her around.
What if this is all Jack's doing? Some kind of twisted vengeanze for filling his brain with spiders, making him obsess over her, and then rejecting him?

Woops, shame on me for forgetting!! Some kind of twisted vengeanze for filling his brain with spiders, making him obsess over her, and then rejecting him? I hope this is not true. Though it is indeed plausible, I doubt it because we've never seen Jack exhibit examples of schemes like this nor him being so ruthless (excluding his time under possession). Plus he seemed shocked to see Zimmy there though of course that could be an act.

There are two examples I can think of: here and hereBut none where he uses the blur the same way as in this page, I think. That counts! Thanks for the catch.

Exactly. And we might find out more about the headmaster if this storyline is allowed to play out too! Yay! My favorite character!

Yeah but she decided to go on the boat which put everyone in danger. Kind of a bad move. Makes for a good chapter though I got the impression that she decided to go (despite not liking the ses) as an act of kindness to Gamma, who wanted to go and was enjoying the cruise (until the robot takeover). Another case of "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions". From the way the ship was vanishing last page, I'll assume that it's being pulled into Zimmy's world physically. (And if it differs from past cases - who knows what changes the robots' interference might have made to the "rules"? Zimmy's abilities seem chaotic enough that I don't think we should expect too much consistency from them anyway.)

You know, given the whole etheric nightmare thing going on, I'm starting to think Coyote really might be the best, uh, dog for the job. I can just picture him and Ysengrin dropping in with Ren. "Well, it looks like we got here just in the nick of time! And what does that make us, Ysengrin?" *Grumbles* "Big damn heroes, Coyote." "Ain't we just!" I approve of this reference! That said, were it not for the whole everything being warped and its pesky denizens, I wouldn't mind the décor too much. Brown is one of my favourite colours. I'm not saying I'd like to build a summer home here but the swirling purple clouds are actually quite lovely. But what about the SOUS's? (Seraphim Of Unusual Size) Also, the first thing that came to my mind upon seeing this page was "I can see Annie, Jack, girlfriend, Gamma, that one couple, some other people, BUT NO KAT. WHERE IS KAT?!?"

Also, the first thing that came to my mind upon seeing this page was "I can see Annie, Jack, girlfriend, Gamma, that one couple, some other people, BUT NO KAT. WHERE IS KAT?!?" Yes, Kat, Paz, and Zimmy are the only major student characters in chis chapter who don't appear on this page - and they were all in the former dance hall (which would have been Ground Zero for the reality-warping) when the big change took place. As were the Seraph robots, who currently seem to be transforming. All of which sounds ominous.... I wonder whether the robots (both Seraph and ship) are even going to retain their former consciousness, or if all of their thoughts and goals will be driven out of their CPUs by their transformation - replaced only by an alien mentality better suited to Zimmy's world. (Still, since this is their doing, it would probably be poetic justice.)

I don't think so because they look more like crab legs than bird or robot legs. More likely to be a manifestation of what the Ship wants to look like since Lindsey's husband is a crab.

I doubt the ship is in Zimmingham. You'll notice that Annie, Jenny (I wonder how she'll react to this?) and Jack are all standing on the bank of a canal, near an arch. If the ship is gone, Kat might not be here too - she didn't end up there in Spring Heeled. If she is there, in non-nobody/memory form, then I look forward to some serious badassery. (Something along the lines of KAT, SMASH!) (we need a Zimmingham thread.) Or does even the Court not realize just how dangerous her abilities are?) This is quite possible - the Court doesn't track her movements. Also, where is Lindsey when you need her? Can you imagine what she might look like in Zimmyverse?! Aughhhh~ uh oh

If Kat is there, it would be her first time. Seeing that she's different, I'm wondering how she might change physically, if not mentally. A cold dispassionate Kat might want to help the ship like a reflex, and there are so many students just wasting their flesh ...

Thought: this is the worst Zimmingham has ever been (even from Zimmy's perspective). Not only is Zimmy separated from Gamma irl, but she also has the stress of the etheric siphons being active, and closer than they were in Power Station. Could explain why there are more people here.

Nearly as crunchy as Wisp, though not with that etheric zing. Annie should definitely have summoned me. Zimmingham looks like my kind of party - she was quite remiss in her role as Forest medium to not bring me along! I shall have to reprimand her for that. If I showed up, what could go wrong? (attempts innocent face) Wahahaha!

Random theory: This could provide a connection to the TicTocs. TicTocs are Seraphs or robots in general that were twisted through Zimmingham, and then retroactively send back to the Court. Interesting...I like this theory, and I'd like it more if we had confirmation of time travel beyond the possibility here. Tom's comment on that page also brings to mind Zimmy's "prophesy". Things don't look good, the bots are playing with forces they likely don't fully understand. Could this be "One Day", where Zimmy goes out in a heroic sacrifice? Wow, that would be epic and dark and tragic. I love this idea, though it somehow does not seem like Tom's style. Though, as well, this chapter seems very different from what came before, so who knows.

Why do you think it's not the other way around? The girl he was interested immediately before the incident was Kat, after all. 3.-The ship is computer. It has gone gaga over an impossible, unrequited love very much like that Jack used to feel for Zimmy. The ship is golem-core robot and as such have their common problems. 4.-Jack and his girlfriend have put into place a plan for this exact situation very quickly You really think "okay, the phone's down, what we can use as a mail pigeon" requires much pondering over? Especially given that he had interest in this stuff and probably already asked Jenny to show off with various magicks from the moment he discovered that she can, give or take ten seconds. I hope this is not true. Though it is indeed plausible, I doubt it because we've never seen Jack exhibit examples of schemes like this nor him being so ruthless (excluding his time under possession). Yes, but he remembers that, is a little overexcited over this and all bugs other than Whitelegs were in from his own head... Why it's unlikely is exactly because he personally knows the problem too well, and is too scared by it, to toy with such matters at all, let alone in the middle of a sea. It's more likely that he did give the robots this idea, but inadvertently, and didn't mind their clarifying questions, but began to suspect something only upon seeing Zimmy aboard. But didn't tell anyone because, well, go on - try to formulate this warning so that it won't sound nuts.

I just realized the seraphs remind me of these things from Adventure Time's 37th Dead World: There's just something about four-legged, long-limbed, multi-jointed ornithoids that severly creeps me out. On another note, damn, I need the next page like I never needed it before. I just can't get this gruesome image out of my head: Kat being stuck halfway through a transformation into Robo-Kat, unable to move or talk; and a terrified Paz, unable to help or even understand what is going on. I'm 99% sure that's not what gonna happen, Tom tends to resolve these storylines quickly and painlessly, and we'll probably focus on the ship anyway. But the mere 1% possibility and the fact that Zimmy's powers lend themselves so well to these kind of scenarios is unnerving to me. It's not that with Zimmy around anything could happen, that is simply not true. It's that with Zimmy around, and no Gamma or even Annie by her side, the worst and most terrifying things will happen. I have never been so scared for a fictional character before, this made me realize how invested I am in Kat as a character. The suspense is killing me... I'm gonna be so nervous before reading the next update... ... ...is it Wednesday yet? edit: I have no, idea how to, properly use commas in, the English language. Does it show? Haha.

Why track the paranoid girl that can literally see you looking at her. Especially when you can track Gamma more easily.

I just realized the seraphs remind me of these things from Adventure Time's 37th Dead World: It also reminded me of the Hob from Dresden Codak. (I can't find a perfect picture...) The Hob is the optimist's perspective; the Dead World is the pessimist's perspective. Tom seems to adhere more to the latter.
