Alright, so, the seraphs' silhouettes are scary enough... but whenever I look at that panel I start imagining how these things move: Slow and awkward? Or swift and predatory? And what sounds they make: Old rusty machinery combined with heavy breathing or bird-like screams? Claws scratching the asphalt of Zimmygham in a dozen different places? Ah yes, it's a good thing I read updates in the morning, not in the evening...

Unrelated to content, I'm curious about the chain-link fence. It's simulating depth of field blur, but it's a stark contrast to the usual Tom's sharp drawing style. Are there any other examples of Tom using blur? I can't remember.
P.S. And I mean honest gaussian blur on an object, as opposed to softly-blended things and fuzzy highlights.

Everyone is contemplating the Seraphs, meanwhile Im wondering what happened to the ship. From the looks of it, it got turned into buildings in panel 3. It looks like there is remnants of the bridge, but I am failing to see anything else that screams "I was the ship."
Now *if* the ship got buildingafied, what happened to its AI and crew? Im gonna just assume that the winged shadows are the Seraphs, but wwouldnt we seen the ship AI or the crew at all unless for dramatic effect. If the ships body didn't get destroyed and he got his wish, Im sort of imagining it to turn out into something like Annie and Mort's version of the Final Records guy from RoTD. And the crew since they are a bunch of dummies, maybe they end up as faceless people. And there is my theorycrafting.

You know, given the whole etheric nightmare thing going on, I'm starting to think Coyote really might be the best, uh, dog for the job. I can just picture him and Ysengrin dropping in with Ren.
"Well, it looks like we got here just in the nick of time! And what does that make us, Ysengrin?"
*Grumbles* "Big damn heroes, Coyote."
"Ain't we just!"

Everyone is contemplating the Seraphs, meanwhile [...] I'm assuming the next page will reveal what happened both to the ship and to Kat... but I'm not really keen on finding out right now. Kat's state in the first and so far only Robo-Kat page looked rather painful actually. I have the feeling whatever happens to Kat in this chapter will, again, prevent an Annie+Kat summer vacation... Aaah, my mind can go to really dark places, I need to stop thinking abut it!

I speculate that the winged creatures are not the seraphs but are manifestations from within Zimmingham itself, formed in resonance of Kat's abruptly induced visit. The entire shenanigan manifested with such great etheric impact not dissimilar to an explosion, but rather a destructive force, effects to a distorting, warping force. But that's just me. Of course, the shadowed figures appear to be rather mechanical, as well as intricate similarly to the S-models. So you guys might just be right. But for them to be very birdlike, must be some sort of influence by Kat. Seductress without a Seduced
Annie was distressed. Here she was, powerful fire haired girl, being worshipped by no one.
No forest creatures to look at her in awe, here she was surrounded by fake boring Zimmy world. And someone else might save the day and be the hero... Jack?
Jack didn't love her anymore, he had this Jenny thing. Yuck. Jack was supposed to love Annie. They all were!
Robots all loved Kat! And that Jeanne ghost! Yuck Yuck! Annie could claim Jeannie to get rid of one rival, but what to do about Kat?
She had summoned Rey, perhaps he would love her, perhaps he would shape shift into that hunk man again.
It was times like this that she thought about key moments in her life, things she could have done differently, perhaps a true love that could have been hers. If only she had been nicer to Boxbot...

There's a thought. Unless I missed a page, that Whiteleg nest hasn't exactly been burned yet, has it? I wonder if the number of those is equal or greater than the number of students. Somehow I doubt Annie's ability to deal with a couple hundred students acting like Jack did. It's not Annie's problem, and never was. The court gets to sort this out. The court would have helped jack earlier, but Annie went and tried to do it herself. Also calling it now that Winsbury and Janet end up in some trouble together or saving each other from something and their relationship finally gets out in the open too. The secrecy thing was funny, but come on, they're teenagers now! Yeah but if Janet's father finds out, things may not go smoothly... Looking forward to it!

Silent Hill, meet R'lyeh. Now, do those jagged claw-things in the first panel belong to the now organic ship? Also, where is Lindsey when you need her? If she does show up, what will she look like? More "grotesque" or "beautiful"? Of course, what do those words mean? All aboard...!? Uh oh! If those are the Seraphims, then what has the Ship and its sailor-bots become? Clockwork rats in these sewers? I was thinking legs on a centipede. The centipede being the Love Boat. If only she had been nicer to Boxbot... All that's green and good! What would Boxbot look like in Zimmyspace? Oh the horror!

Could this be "One Day", where Zimmy goes out in a heroic sacrifice? And what happens to Zimmingham and the people caught up in it if Zimmy dies?

If only she had been nicer to Boxbot... There are so many possible applications for this phrase... Clockwork rats in these sewers? I was thinking legs on a centipede. The centipede being the Love Boat. There already was one centipede. And those should be somewhat quasi-autonomous, though maybe more obviously linked.

Let's hope that Annie doesn't forget that anyone could be a nobody, and that not everyone necessarily came through.

As for the red thing, I'm guessing that it's the propeller. You can see the prow transforming in the first panek and what looks like are supposed to be the structural ribs of the ship are becoming those wierd crab-leg things jutting out. And yes, zimmingham is being screwed up by the fact that they are out on the water. Also, I wonder if any sea-life has gotten zimmyfied. I mean, theres the plankton and microorganisms. Then again, the regular bacteria thats all around don't get zimmyfied when she went zimmyham before. Let's hope that Annie doesn't forget that anyone could be a nobody, and that not everyone necessarily came through. For those that didn't go through, I wonder what happened to them? Are they floating on the water in danger of drowning?

That said, were it not for the whole everything being warped and its pesky denizens, I wouldn't mind the décor too much. Brown is one of my favourite colours. I'm not saying I'd like to build a summer home here but the swirling purple clouds are actually quite lovely.

Let's hope that Annie doesn't forget that anyone could be a nobody, and that not everyone necessarily came through. Maybe a level six etheric distortion would be enough to bring everybody through, though.

Exactly. And we might find out more about the headmaster if this storyline is allowed to play out too! For those that didn't go through, I wonder what happened to them? Are they floating on the water in danger of drowning? Only their minds go through, their physical bodies do not, and their bodies are still affected by what is happening in the physical world.

Also, where is Lindsey when you need her? Can you imagine what she might look like in Zimmyverse?! Aughhhh~[/quote] I don't think that her looks will be changed. I mean, Annie and the rest of the students still look like themselves, and everybody except Zimmy herself has always retained their form when they've been dragged to Zimmingham. I guess the robots don't have the natural defenses that let you retain your form when subjected to a reality warping experience. Or else Zimmingham is responding to their desire to be flesh.

When has Zimmy changed forms in Zimmingham? Maybe a level six etheric distortion would be enough to bring everybody through, though. And like I said, what happened to the ones that didn't get pulled through? Treading water trying not to drown (and who knows how many don't know how to/can't swim? Presumably, if the distortion was big enough to physically pull the ship through (it seems), it carried the people with it. However, this is somehow different that what happened before - it seems there may have been matter transference into Zimmingham, rather than just minds entering. Perhaps that has to do with what a 'Level 6 Distortion' is, or with the etheric syphons. When all the robots have become flesh, he will look something like this: You know, considering literally everyone in Queslett at Zimmy's grade just got sucked into her head, I wonder if people are going to start actively resenting her after all this. I mean, I know she wasn't exactly anyone's favorite before, but I just sorta get the feeling this isn't the type of thing you just let bygones be bygones about. I hear warping reality is a good way to go from "That creepy girl" to "That red-eyed monster". I hope not - they all know she was essentially tortured by the robots until she snapped. All of them should be familiar with the fact that some powers are dangerous. Actually, just to be safe, I think now would be the time to get to the toy shop. Won't do any good - Gamma's not there, so the problem won't end until she can dampen Zimmy's powers again (and maybe not even then, depending on exactly what the robots did). Speaking of which, where exactly is Zimmy right now? (And will we see Kat in Angel form???) Probably. We still don't know if the robots are entirely flesh, since presumably they needed Kat to help them somehow (otherwise the whole 'you will make us flesh' thing makes no sense) - and having that all occur off-screen seems anticlimactic somehow. Also, do any of the students but Kat, Annie, and Jack actually know what this place is?
