I get Love Boat, but what exactly do the Seraphs think they're getting out of this? Furthering the Transrobotic Cause? Helping a robo-brother with romance? They seemed interested in Kat growing a robot, but not this interested. Am I missing something? Probably Love Boat is a Big Guy in the robot community.. They could have had this in mind al along. I'm pretty sure the robots are still trying to figure out what "Love makes you do funny things" means. This is probably some kind of giant group-therapy for the robots to get over their Jeanne-related trauma. It's not gonna work...but good try, Robots.

Can't mess with a CLONG to the face. Well, unless you have a hat, of course. But seriously, those panels of post-fireball Annie are stunning. And I love how Zimmy seems surprised that someone would come to her aid like that.

What worries me here is that the Seraphs seem to be starting to work down a list:
a. deploy countermeasures b. ? ? ? c. profit
Helmets alone aren't going to stop Annie and they know that. No, they've got something more up their proverbial sleeves.

I'm not so sure -- back in S1, Kat implied that even the basic motor functions of the archetype robots weren't based on anything she could understand at the time (unless I'm misreading). I'm thinking that the current S1s see themselves as being degraded, junky models compared to these, and want this to work to take a step to making themselves as good as Diego's best again. It could be both, of course.

Yeah, that's some BS. Zimmy's greasy hair would have caught fire from that. Annie's fire only burns things she wants it to burn. If she wants it to scorch the robot but have no effect on Zimmy that is how it will behave.

This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.

I still can't help wondering how the Court will treat the robot community after this (assuming they find out - and with this many students witniessing the event, someone is sure to talk - not to mention the Court most likely having other information-gathering measures in place). They'll definiteily see it as an act of mutiny - and if they know that it was prompted by the robot religion - and who knows how many of the robots at the Court have embraced it - then they're all potentially dangerous. (Though as I've mentioned in earlier threads, there are so many robots around that it'll be difficult to deal with them all, and the Court does seem to need their help to get the day-to-day work done; it's too large for the humans there to run it by themselves. And trying to round the lot of them up could provoke the very war they're trying to avert. The Court may well feel after this that having the robot staff around is like riding a tiger - dangerous to ride, dangerous to dismount from.)
On the suggestion that one of the students might die in this chapter - some months ago, I'd have doubted that, but with Mort written out (admittedly, through a peaceful conducting into the ether at his own request, but still, being written out of the webcomic), I'm not so sure that being a recurring character can protect you from that. (And if one of the students or more does die as a result of the robot activity - what will be the effect on the Court's perspective on the robots?)

Quite honestly if Zimmy of all people were making death threats, I'd take it pretty damn seriously. Also, avatar thing: very sloppy, messy thing but eh"Give me ALL your cookies. Now!" eightyfour should have that one...

"Give me ALL your cookies. Now!" eightyfour should have that one... Ha! Edit: I think it's time we slap some warning labels on this chapter: The top row for the robots and the bottom row for Zimmy. I feel Annie should have a label, too, but I didn't find anything fitting.

I had the same impression, maybe this makes Zimmy trust Annie more. She probably respects Annie more now that she knows that Annie is actually capable of responding with violence as a first resort. Zimmy usually sees it as the correct first response, I imagine.

In all seriousness though, doesn't Annie choose what her etheric form collides with? Just phase through the helmets and hit the buttons? As far as I remember Annie never phased through anythinng before. Even in Spring Heeled she had to go through the open window above the door too push the button. Jack with an iron rod might be still effective though. Also: someone suspected the storm might be artificially created, guess they were right.

Great thought. Especially given how much I loved the Matrix triology, my original thought of a movie clip shows how much my children have corrupted me...

While the helmets may protect them from telekinetic off-button presses, I'm not confident it will provide any significant protection against spontaneous combustion. At least they're learning, though! Clearly, they haven't met a fire elemental before...

Annie shot first!
Even if Tom submits to political pressure and changes it in the director's cut, we all know that Annie shot first!

Now we have some more canon material for the debate concerning ether. It can be collected from the ocean as well as the lake. Assuming this isn't a simulation or the ship isn't on the lake.
And is this the first time robots have messed with the ether? Seems like they have an idea of what they are doing, but I don't recall them expressing interest in the ether or the seed bismuth. And if the robots are messing with the ether, then wouldn't feeding ether to the seed bismuth to grow robots be a more logical play than messing around with biology?

Clearly, the solution to this little problem lies in breakdancing.

So what, they used violence* first! * I am not saying that the bots don't have it coming to them and wouldn't have escalated further on their own, but clearly Annie shot first. And by that definition, Greedo used violence first and Hans was justified in shooting first. Also applicable from Jayne Cobb: Hell, I'll kill a man in a fair fight... or if I think he's gonna start a fair fight...

Clearly, the solution to this little problem lies in breakdancing. Damn, why didn't I think of that. That's probably Jack's talent And by that definition, Greedo used violence first, but Han still shot first. Ah, that's from a old B-movie isn't it Think I saw it on TV once. Pretty awful.

Annie may still be a child, but she has something robots don't: intelligence and some battle experience. And she was trained under Coyote and Ysengrin's wing. She's going to win.

Random thoughts 1.- And here I thought the robots'd ask for Paz's hairdresser name to summon her to work on Zimmy's hair... 2.- Please tell me someone has the last post with party hats 3.- Annie is really mad because Zimmy dodged it... 4.- ...Or Zimmy is going to think so! ->>> Z vs A !!!
5.- The hard hats are only an acknowledgmente to the huge amount of sh17 that just hit the fan and is going to land on them...
