Negative temperatures may arise as a result of describing energy flows and quantum spin states. So, yes, they are a bit exotic. We are talking Jones, here. I mean that you are juggling "colder" and "hotter" like a climatologist or something. I'll chalk it out to low standards, as evidenced by the link to a ludicrous sandbox. As a physicist-in-training, the general discussion of the "negative temperature" phenomenon bothers me almost as much as people confusing homophones or describing large changes as "quantum leaps" (or any reference to The Big Bang Theory) The Wikipedia page on the phenomenon is actually pretty good, but you aren't going to communicate a full understanding of it through an internet forum.

And if a scale is not going to be more continuous in either case, leaving it also non-monotonic is not such a big deal. IMHO. The Wikipedia page on the phenomenon is actually pretty good, but you aren't going to communicate a full understanding of it through an internet forum. Add "currently". So, once it's all unbracketed - "a rumour mill with schizophrenical motto currently have it copypasted from some source that seems pretty good".

I really think that if Jones is - as Coyote implies - some form of human archetype, it is very likely a positive one. Look at Jones's beauty, if humans imagine evil, you would not get this picture. She may think she is neutral, but she is hard-wired to be one of the good guys. She looks beautiful and good to me in the same way that mathematics are also beautiful and good. Do you think the Erinyes are a force for good, or Kali, or the Midgard snake, or Coyote? If yes, then we share the same opinion; but the definition of »good« is stretched beyond categorical morality here. If not, then it must be possible for animated human concepts not to be forces for good. — In any event, I'll maintain that divine beings of myth, even if born of human imagination, don't need to conform to the same standards that decent humans should follow (»don't be jerks throwing bombs at each other«, for example). You're a Miles Davis fan? What's your favourite album? (I love Nefertiti above all else.)

But googling pictures of Kali made me doubt my own theory a bit, she is often portrayed as beautiful. But only a bit. I discovered Kind of Blue only a few years ago, when So what! was played on the radio, and I think it is great. I’m not a fan of anyone in particular, but Coltrane, Davis, Beiderbecke, Louis Prima, Billie Holiday, and Louis Armstrong are the jazz favourites (at this moment). I’ll listen to Nefertiti asap. I see you changed your avatar again, don’t know this one, google suggests Henri Salvador? I liked the Nico picture, better than most of her music. bothers me almost as much as people confusing homophones I sea. Batter skip my posts than, wood not wont to caws bother on the other site of the ocean.

Must have misunderstood your use of the word Idealized. But googling pictures of Kali made me doubt my own theory a bit, she is often portrayed as beautiful. But only a bit. Though Hindu mythology is a very complicated subject, one interpretation of Kali defines her as the alter-ego of Parvati, who is usually mild-tempered, but can break out into fits of indulgent destruction when she feels like it. If you're new to Miles, you should give yourself the time to listen to Sketches of Spain, E.S.P., Bitches Brew, Birth of the Cool, and Pangaea. These are all fantastic as well. As for contemporary jazz, try the Kit Downes Trio and Femi Kuti. It's a statue of Vytautas Kernagis that I photographed in beautiful Nida, Lithuania, during the summer of 2012. The song by Salvador is unrelated, except that I figured they'd go well together. Here's a quick, literal, no-guarantees English translation of the French lyrics for anyone interested: I would so love to see Syracuse, Easter Island and Kairouan, And the great birds who enjoy themselves Gliding beneath the wind;
To see the gardens of Babylon, And the palace of the grand Lama, To dream of the lovers of Verona On the summit of the Fujiyama;
To see the land of the calm morning, To go fishing with the cormoran, And to get myself drunk on palm wine Listening to the singing [or: chanting] of the wind;
Before my youth has used itself up And my springs have all left me, I would so love to see Syracuse For to remember it in Paris. My favourite part about that one was the "FRAGILE" print. You have engourd my wrought by weights of your insolvency

bothers me almost as much as ... reference to The Big Bang Theory As an individual that consumes enough media to form tongue-in-cheek media criticisms over YouTube comment sections in reply to vapid praise of vapid entertainement for fun, there are very few things that bother me "almost as much" as that show.
