I don't understand your question. My post is this way because... I don't know. I was referring to this little item. Shit, I forgot about that! Sorry Intelligence. Maybe Tom will let you out from under his Thumb one of these days.

He's asking what [REDACTED] is in reference to. Chances are, he mentioned the word '' - or some kind of other, subtle reference, such as '', and he's getting a second chance before Tom IP bans him. But dang Intelligence, you've got a hard life ahead of you on these here update threads. :/ Except that isn't it at all, the post isn't edited. I simply have no idea how to feel about the update.

Annie's gonna be all, "What, you were worried I would be freaked out just you're dating a foreigner? Don't be silly!"
[edit] The post above mine makes me feel like a missed something again. So I'll just pretend, again, that it was lengthy intelligent and civil discussions about relevant topics and leave it at that.

I love that Clonk! So damn cute! And I have to agree with this post: As much as Rey likes to play the wise counselor in wolf form, he's been cooped up in GKC for decades, and before that for many centuries his interactions were limited to the denizens of the forest and occasional visitors from the court. I very much doubt he has more then a cursory understanding of human culture outside the court cobbled together from what he has overheard. I think his advice that Annie might have "traditional" values was mostly speculation in reaction to Kat's fears. Despite he and Kat being the two creatures closest to Annie in the whole world neither of them guessed at the loneliness and fear of isolation that was really driving her insecurity which tells us a lot about how emotionally closed she can be about her vulnerability. I have been thinking about this ever since Rey gave his "pep talk" to Kat with the cautionary warning about Annie being "traditional". How does Reynard really know how Annie feels about things that he was never witness to? He wasn't there with her in Good Hope, he didn't even meet her until she was 11 years old. Unless they have had long off-camera discussions of sexuality, his only clue would be her angry reply to his highly inappropriate remark. And she was quite right to be mad at him in that case. So, although his overall " As a creature in this world, you will face many hardships in your life. Who you love should not be one of them" was wonderful, I think he simply failed on his prediction of Annie's personal feelings on something they have never talked about.

...his only clue would be her angry reply to his highly inappropriate remark. And she was quite right to be mad at him in that case. Oh that's a good point. He did know Surma, although how well is up for debate considering she tricked him. Still it's hard to imagine that someone who believes this might teach her daughter homosexuality is wrong. We know he doesn't like Anthony, maybe Renard thinks that if she had a problem with it it'd be his fault?

Still it's hard to imagine that someone who believes this might teach her daughter homosexuality is wrong. Agreed, for the most part, though given how little we know of Annie's parents, we should be cautious in making assumptions. Also, people can have personal philosophies that sound similar to your own or seem appealing, but interpret what they mean very differently. They can even hold particular beliefs that seem contradictory, but that their internal logic supports.

Also, people can have personal philosophies that sound similar to your own or seem appealing, but interpret what they mean very differently. They can even hold particular beliefs that seem contradictory, but that their internal logic supports. This is all very, very true. Values judgments and assumptions can vary widely even between individuals within the same cultural context and different people are going to have different understandings of what those values mean. Take lying for example. Simple concept, right? Until you start asking people what lying means to them and you find out that for one person not lying is "not saying anything untrue" and for another it is "not being deceptive" and for yet another it is "being honest and forthcoming" and for some people it's "not being caught."

"So... uh... you thought I may be freaked out because you're seeing someone who is... not a bird?" That would be awesome and perfect. My bet, though... Annie: "Freaked out?" Kat: "About me seeing Paz." Annie: "That would be terribly hypocritical. You haven't freaked out about me and Rey." Annie: *winks and thumbs up the fourth wall* *rimshot* Okay, yet another option: Kat: "...about Paz" Annie: "oh, yeah, that hair is hideous, but don't..." Kat: "WHAT?!"

Am I the only one who thinks Annie is going to be really offended that Kat thought she ran off because she was homophobic? I'm just expecting Annie to get angry at Kat right away if she says that. Yeah, Kat had better not do that, now that's clear that wasn't the reason. That would make everything a million times worse.

I sure hope not. It's hard enough to come out to your friends, without having them get mad at you for being worried to come out to them in the first place.

Yep. Not everyone who is all "be yourself! love! acceptance!" will follow through with that. She just sounds pretty open minded there.
