You don't want Paz to hear that, Kat... Also, yeah, wondering about that...I think maybe that relationship will take a little bit of time to develop? Kat's last line here feels like the obvious thing to say, but also not quite accurate, and a little bit off for the development of the story...I'm maybe a little picky, but this line isn't where this felt like it was going. |

I dunno guys. I'm still kind of disappointed with the Alistair twist, even if it does work fairly well from the standpoint of the characters. When I saw Annie sitting outside the tree room, I was hoping for a conversation about how Annie feels alone and abandoned and depressed that everyone except for her's hooking up and mostly that she feels like she's losing her best friend.
I guess I'm okay with this though. Tom could end it here and I'd be relatively satisfied.
So now that we're pretty much at the end of the chapter, what do you guys think the title Thread means?

I never took the Annie x Kat shippers seriously before...but the last panel here is just too...
"you're the most important person in the world to me, I would do anything for you" is exactly what I said a few years ago to the guy I was totally in love with, but didn't realize it at the time.

Well, he is the person who plots them out and draws them  so I guess he just keeps count of the pages and makes it fit into whatever number makes it come out that way. Also worth noting that a standard length chapter is 30 pages => end page on monday week (Mind you, 'Catalyst' was a week short) I like the way Tom uses the style from Chapter 13 in panel 2. Second last panel: only a true friend can effectively call you a clot. |

As much as I admired Annie for being honest with Kat about her past mistakes on the last page, I also admire Kat on this page for calling Annie on it too. Because is isn't just "in the past" that Annie has made the wrong choices, it is today too!
Running away didn't help this situation at all. Good on you Kat for having the courage to tell your best friend what is what. And also having the healing words to say that even with that, it is still all ok and their friendship runs deeper than any argument.
And those faces in panel four! hahaha. I can't wait for the next update!

$50 says she means it in a purely platonic way. That's what I thought. Strong friendships are generally stronger than developing romantic relationships. I suspect women generally hold friends more tightly than men do, too, so that line didn't seem too strange to me (though maybe I am being an ignorant male clod saying that). I think the syntax was a little awkward, but no more awkward than in speech. |

I believe the traditional form of this request is " Pull!"  Besides, Annie's shown that she wants the green D. Not sure if she wants or even fancies him now... between "Annie in the forest" and her way to discuss him with Kat.  Likes, yes. As another variant, there's still Jack. Next comic will have Paz eavesdropping the whole conversation... then the true drama will begin! Then she will run off and they will have to bring her back... and so on. Either that, or Annie will start talking about how doing anything for her is not automatically a good idea. Or maybe Bob will drop by, he is a wise guy after all. |
