Well, I want to say that Divine is completely awesome, not only because of the sever emotional... visualisation and punch it holds, but also because of the close(r) look we get at Zimmy. Of course, Faraway Morning is just as up there, because it's beautiful - both in art and in dialogue. Wow. (springheeled made me love zimmy, the stone made me love jones, and quicksilver made me love renard aaah i can't choose)

I'm inclined to say The Stone- not because it was the current chapter when I became interested, nor because it features Jones being Jones. I think I just really liked the art style and Tom's devotion to research when drawing each page. The lack of dialogue made it more interesting I think.

Totally and definitely The Stone. And the ones featuring Jeanne. And... Well, all of it. xD

There are a lot of chapters I like. The Stone and Divine not the least of them. I very much liked The Coward Heart and especially Sky Watcher and the Angel, because of the glimpses we caught of that great tragedy that is Jeanne. Sky Watcher also because of the robots, the funny counter-element. I guess that makes it my favourite chapter.

So many to choose from... Power Station would probably have to be my all-time favorite. It's the one that made me finally join the forum after lurking for ages. I'm going to have to agree with Stone and Divine as top-tier choices. Faraway Morning made me nostalgic but also uncomfortable. I'm also fond of S1. By that point, Tom's craft was evolving so fast that the style of drawing changed from chapter to chapter. Deep, glossy blacks, thick lines, lots of purple, the flashback to Kat's childhood... good stuff. Each post brings me closer to Gunner. Don't forget to pace yourself.

Stone, Blinking, Quicksilver and Schoolyard Myths just because Basil is awesome. Oh yeah, and why! Stone because I love the art and I love learning about how worlds work, and it's just generally awesome. Blinking because I want to see Annie becoming more powerful (I also want her to learn to use Coyote's tooth) and, again, want to learn more about how worlds work. Quicksilver is touching - I really like the Renard/Surma and now Annie story. And Basil...

Faraway Morning.
It quickly and convincingly sketched a wide variety of minor characters who we didn't really know yet. It has lots of subplots that weave in and out of each other in interesting ways. It has tons of great little set pieces -- the big group of kids, Annie and Jack on the stairwell, Kat and Paz off in the corner. (And speaking of Annie/Jack and Kat/Paz, it set the the groundwork for some relationship-related fireworks.) It has those goofy stories that the kids tell. It has funny parts and melancholy parts and thought-provoking parts and is just solid all around.

"Doctor Disaster Versus the Creepy Space Aliens from Outer Space!" After chapters dealing with mysterious family members, suicidal fairies, death gods, and possessed robots, Tom managed to go somewhere even stranger by turning the comic into a pulp sci-fi parody for a chapter. That was the moment when I realized this comic could do anything.

That was the moment when I realized this comic could do anything. Yes! Doctor Disaster for the win! I like the ones with Jeane, too. She and the green elf(which hasn't been focused on much) basically represent the relationship and conflicts between the Court and the forest, which is one of the biggest mysteries that keep me hooked on the story.

My vote is for the current chapter, until we get a page with the chapter-end mark.
Then it's the next chapter, until we get the first story-page. (Title pages generally don't interest me much.)
Then it's the now-current chapter.

A Handful of Dirt for the amazing depiction of Annie and Katerina's friendship, Fire Spike for the particularly great art, for the monumental drama and huge reveals and Crash Course for - again - the sheer beauty of the art in the chapter (those sunrays on the first page, man), for Annie being a huge badass and for the shipping. Those would be my three favourites if I'm forced to choose. Honorary mentions go to Residential for being hands down the funniest chapter, The Stone for being awfully pretty to look at and Reynardine for being the chapter that first made me realize how awesome this comic was going to be when I read it the first time.

Easy, my favorite chapter is Skywatcher and The AngelIt's mysterious, you feel the size and "freedom" Gunnerkrigg Court. Ann is 100% Ann. Kat is awesome. Shadow is awesome. Robot is awesome. The robots are handsomely noble. The King is next level. That parrot god drop. That Diego drop. That Jeanne(spelling i know)! assassination She died and we did nothing. truly a perfect chapter

Oh yeah, there's Crash Course and Residential! How could I have forgotten them? Crash course for the awesome display of Annie's powers, and Residential is funny and awesome. Pretty soon I'll just be saying which ones I don't like.

The Stone, hands down, because JONES.
Though this current chapter will come very close to dethroning it, I think.

Red Returns, because the second-to-last page confirmed my expectations in all the best ways - that and assorted spots of genius that are basically all over the place.

I'd like to revise my answer and add Quicksilver I just read through it last night and I realized how amazing it was. Tom's a great artist and the depiction of the court on page this one absolutely stuns me

Well, I want to say that Divine is completely awesome, not only because of the sever emotional... visualisation and punch it holds... Oh man oh man oh man!!! Are we actually one and the same writer and just have not realized it yet? Divine is my favourite too, the artwork is beyond web comics, it just is, but the biggest thing for me was the multi-layered storyline that was so well put into images. In fact, I only got interested in GKC through Divine. I archive binged the comic because I just couldn't understand what happened in Divine. And after that, I was still left with all the crucial questions, like "what was Tony doing there?", "what was real in this?", "what exactly did Zimmy do?", "what happened in the end of the chapter when Zimmy suffered Jack-attack?" and "why did Kat look like that to Zimmy?" Some... months(?), at least weeks, later I joined the forum to discuss a very different subject and learned the term "archive bing".

A Ghost Story is a really underrated one I think, that one stuck in my head for such a long time, but I think my favorite is Fire Spike. It was a huge turning point for the story as a whole, the art is gorgeous, I love exploring Annie's character (Microsat 5 is really good for this reason), and it was one of the only chapters I pretty much followed all the way through on the forums The weekend where we didn't know exactly what Annie was was crazy, haha
