Ok, I have a question, but please don't flame me about it! I really think pazkat is cute. Kat hadn't even thought it was Paz who wrote the love letter when this all started. This likely means she hadn't thought about Paz that way before, right? No, it means she didn't think Paz thought about her that way. Because it was something that had been slowly cooking in the back of her head - and perhaps made it to the front occasionally - since Faraway Morning if not longer.

The wording of warrl's post made me think he was agreeing with that statement, not mocking it. He wouldn't have included the "(let's ignore the first 1199 pages)"-bit if that's what he thought. At least that's what I read out of his post. You are correct, Lightice. (And the number 1199 was not picked out of thin air either. The "all about lesbians" comments started on page 1200.)

The more I think about it the more I... 1) think it is a non-issue 2) wish that others thought it was a non-issue 3) am surprised by how much in 2013 people think it is an issue I guess maybe because I had a tough time back when I was their age which would be 15 years ago now, and it seems as though, looking at some of the comments out there (mainly comments under the comic or The Butt Zone, definitely not comments on this particular thread), society in the greater world- even in the 'developed West'- hasn't progressed as much as I wish it would have in that time period. Ah, but we don't live in a perfect world To be perfectly honest, I had never even thought about zimmy and gamma being in a gay relationship until I joined the forums and saw everyone taking that as a fact everyone knew, I always saw it as an odd co-dependence thing, where Zimmy depended on Gamma to keep her sane(ish), and Gamma depended on Zimmy as she had some kind of power and was a little odd (you'd have to be a little odd to actually LIKE Zimmy, right?). I can sort of see what people are talking about with that now, but I still don't 100% get it. There isn't exactly much affection between them, and at the very least it is quite an abusive relationship. Robot and Shadow, I know this has been done to death too, strike me as more undefinable on the hetero/homo scale. The sheer logistics of two characters who don't really have a gender being gay doesn't quite work in my head. Although as they both seem to identify as male, I certainly 'get' it a lot more than the zimmy/gamma one. I don't think Kat is going to suddenly "go straight" again after a bit, it doesn't seem like Tom's style, and wouldn't make sense to me anyway. I like Pazkat and hope it continues, the criticisms of it mostly seem to revolve around "I didn't expect this, I'm angry, rarrghh!"

This likely means she hadn't thought about Paz that way before, right? So why did she just agree to go out with her? Please don't kill me over this, I was just re reading and wondering why that was. Have a reread and see if this works for you: Kat hadn't really thought about who she was attracted to gender wise until faraway morning. Even if attracted to Paz, it was in the back of her head. Faraway morning forced her to consider the thought, and also made her wonder whether she actually found Paz attractive. The whole thing did make her feel awkward (such as when rey asked her if parley was a fine sight), and she didn't want to seem "like that" so she wore the flower headband and tried to seem straight. But she couldn't escape her true feelings (the end of divine where zimmy and gamma take the het-band). Plus she was avoiding Paz so that she wouldn't appear to be "hitting on her" ("you haven't been here in awhile"). However they had had these intense glances between them here and there. In fact one of the reasons that kat was so keen on moving in with Annie was due to dispelling the idea she was being creepy in some way or hitting on Paz (note that there's an awkward glance between kat and Paz in there). During catalyst when she goes to the animal lab, she is hoping that it is Paz who wrote the letter but, too awkward to ask her directly (and knowing that it was at least printed out by a robot and that robots *can* get unauthorised crushes) she asks Bobby, who is far less threatening to her (she's the Angel after all!). She'sa little surp rised and disappointed that Bobby admits to it. Sadly/amused she expresses that "the only time someone sends me a love letter and it's from a robot". Except it isn't. Then Paz-fession! Then yay!

Same with Robot & Shadow who, while an incredibly unconventional pairing are just *not* straight and *not just friends* We don't even know if they have genders.

To be perfectly honest, I had never even thought about zimmy and gamma being in a gay relationship until I joined the forum There are many pages showing intimacy between them, but ignore that if you wish. Tom has said that they are a couple, but ignore that if you wish. Good, because Tom has said that they identify as male. Same with Robot & Shadow who, while an incredibly unconventional pairing are just *not* straight and *not just friends* We don't even know if they have genders. We have been told (not in-comic) that Robot self-identifies as male. Not having a physical gender, he cannot be homosexual - but he could be homoromantic. Or biromantic. Or nonromantic but a good friend. We have also been told (not in-comic) that shadowpeople reproduce sexually, and Shadow is male. We have nothing to indicate whether he thinks of Robot in sexual terms at all. He is unique among his species - the only one to have been severed from surfaces - in addition to having previously been estranged from his people, so his chances of finding a mate of his own kind are really poor regardless of his sexuality.

If (big if!) Kat actually truly is dating Paz, it is clearly just practice for Annie.

Don't worry, his limbs just start to drop off if he doesn't tell us that Pazkat is horrible and Kat/Annie is the real romance at least once every ten minutes. He has to look out for his health after all.

Got to admit; pretty gutsy to show up here knowing that an immediate internet shanking would follow. I can show some respect for that.

Honestly? Does it really matter? Just another relationship to throw into the mix. Plus, it's first openly same-sex relationship I've come across in some form of media.

Love leads people to discover themselves. I think we should watch where it goes. If (big if!) Kat actually truly is dating Paz, it is clearly just practice for Annie. Like punching a sandbag before the boxing match? Do you think that's how people fall in love — with the next target always in mind? Got to admit; pretty gutsy to show up here knowing that an immediate internet shanking would follow. I can show some respect for that. It's gutsy to speak out for human rights while live on television in Belarus.

It seems absolutely clear and obvious to me that she is bisexual. I don't know how anyone could have any doubts about this.

It seems absolutely clear and obvious to me that she is bisexual. I don't know how anyone could have any doubts about this. I don't think that's necessarily true. Pretty good chance it is, but there's an equally good chance Kat is gay. Or mostly straight with a few exceptions, or mostly gay with a few exceptions. Pansexual even. The only thing I think we can count out as a possibility is her being 100% straight. It's really hard to put a label on these things, just because there's so many degrees of sexuality. And really it's probably better to NOT put a label on it. Sometimes I think "fluid sexuality" is less a case of people's sexual preferences changing over time (though I'm not discounting that) and more a case of people being so eager to put a label on themselves that they grab the first one that seems like it works. There's so much focus on the label rather than just "Oh hey I'm attracted to this person."

What would really suck is if something bad would happen to Paz just to further the story. This seems to be option number two, with number one being "super-awesome biologist-scientist collaboration". I trust Tom's sense of plot to avoid the cliche, but one can never tell.

Who is sure of anything to do with their sexuality when that age?

Ages aren't exact since we don't know any of their birthdays, but I think based on school years they're all 14, maybe 15. They were supposed to be around 12 when the series started if I recall and it's been around 2 years since then.

I think that Paz and Kat's relationship (as well as being super cute) is helping show just how much Kat has grown as a character over the course of the comic. I'm not saying that's it's main purpose - just a side effect - but a first relationship is pretty important, and makes her seem a lot more adult than she was.
