Annie is waiting in there with a surprise party to celebrate the occasion. She rushed off because she knew she only had a little while to get ready and bake the cake. That's my bet. Streamers and confetti from Annie, Robot, and Shadow, come next. And party hats. I don't know what would be appropriate for a banner, though. "Gay and happy times"? |

I see that Kat hasn't bothered to shuck her coveralls, just wrapped its arms around her waist and pulled on a shirt. Anxious, maybe? Seems to me that she's got reason to be. There's going to be a bit of a dust-up when she finally tracks Antimony down. I thought the whole time she was shirtless under the coveralls, too, but then I saw the last panel in this page. It's clearly a shirt, though the only time we see one. It is actually a white shirt; the color seems only seems off because it's in Paz' shadow (compare to the shadowed part of Paz' white shirt.) What's really weird about this shirt that Kat is wearing is that it only shows up in that single panel in the entire multi-page scene. On the other hand, if you look at today's comic, the neck line of her shirt moves up and down quite a bit between panels (compare panels 1 and 7) so who knows -- maybe the shirt was really under the coveralls the whole time, and we only saw it once? I dunno? |

I wouldn't read too much into an appearing and disappearing shirt - I think it's Tom's fluid art that made it only be visible in one panel before. But since it was there on page 1271, we should be able to conclude that the had the shirt on the whole time.  This makes her seem all the more twitchy on this page! |

A misplaced sunrise? I wonder if Renard can smell Paz on her? It may just be something silly as "I went to get you a celebratory cake for you and your new lady love!" Of course. Who else should bake it if not the best friend and half- fire elemental?  Or pouting in a tree? |

O.o Surely Annie wasn't crushing on Kat!? A: She didn't seemed fazed when she was crushing on Bird Boy. B: Nor would she have been playing the flirt at the party and offering a kiss if she really liked Kat. A: This is Annie we're talking about, she wouldn't seem fazed is a bus hit her, especially back then. She also did not actually seem to like Aly, so much as she tolerated him for Kats sake. Also Kat was the actual one crushing on Aly and look at her now. B: All that flirting was just Annie being a bitch to trick Jack, the kiss offered at the end could be just as much an apology as anything else, since Annie planned on denying it as the tricks punch line. While the jealousy of friendship or hurt of not being told could be the cause romantic jealousy is just as likely Personally I feel it will be a combination of the three. |

I think for anyone who has ever walked into a situation like this, it's mostly embarrassed that you saw, even though you have no real reason to be embarrassed and quickly vacating the premises. Followed by a quick bit of introspection, of the "Wow, didn't need to see that," or "Wow, didn't see that one coming." varieties. I totally think Annie is fine with it.
At least, my own experience says that the above is true.

 I am deliciously baffled as to what to expect from dear Annie in regards to this. Rey is going to have kittens over it, and that's saying something considering he's a fox. Sigh... Our little ship has now off loaded it's cargo unto a train... where it goes from here? One can only guess. Lets just hope it arrives safely and doesn't wreck... Because if it does? I think it will be in slow motion and set off a startling chain of events. |

Disappearing in this manner is an Anthony move. Antimony isn't Anthony but seeing as Antimony is probably questioning all sorts of stuff regarding her friendship with Kat now (if they will stay friends, how Paz fits in, if sexual attraction was part of why Kat made friends with Antimony in the first place, etc) I am thinking Antimony's passed the Surma Expressway and is taking the exit for downtown. There are still several ways this can go; Antimony renting a paddle-boat and splashing around in the Denial river would be better than leasing a penthouse at the Anthony Hotel, but I think the latter's now more likely in the short run. But in the long run I am still speculating they patch things up.

Come on, people! I'm sorry, but the "PazKat" ship needs to wreck! It's like the Chewbacca defense, it makes no sense! While the rest of you are supposedly squeeing, I'm hoping Kat ends up with someone she actually likes. Annie is clearly figuring out how to free Kat from Boxbot. That's right "Paz" is Boxbot in disguise! Wow. Deep breaths dude. It'll be ok I promise. Also not really sure where you're getting the whole Kat doesn't like Paz idea from. A lot of stuff in this comic happens offscreen and they're clearly pretty buddy buddy prior to the awkwardness of Faraway Morning. |

Just because she was helping Kat does not mean she liked that the two were in a relationship, just that she wanted Kat to be happy. Using Aly as proof that Annie isn't in love with Kat don't make since anyway, cause Kat, the one who was all for Aly, and boy's in general, is macking with a girl. |

What's up with these lines? You do read the comic, right? I think the last pages speak for themselves if Kat likes Paz or not. Remember also at first she rejected her affection, then had time to think about it and changed her mind. She didn't have to do that if she didn't like Paz. Personally, I think Tom tries to avoid the obvious cliches, and having the two main characters fall in love is one of the most obvious (and may I add, dumb) ones, so I don't think AnnieKat will happen. Thankfully. Of course there could be a little jealousy and confusion. I don't know what is so wrong about PazKat. I like the way it goes and even if not; I thought the thing with Annie and Jack was weird all the way, but in retrospect I gotta say it brought some great stories. So even if you don't like PazKat, be patient and trust Tom to make something of it. |
