Yup! That little voice reminding you of every perceived social awkwardness you've ever committed, or might be about to commit. Growing up is the process of slowly strangling that bird until one day it's dead and you realize you really don't care what other people think. Truly wise words. Are you sure you're not a wizard dude? The only wizard who posts here is TBeholder. I don't claim his level of skill.

Luckily the bird is metaphorical, and thus does not qualify as a murder. Of course it doesn't. There's only one of it, and it's a pigeon not a crow. BOOM! Nice one.

I may be totally mistaken, but I have this vague memory that someone once implied that Kat's parents have huge computer farms somewhere that allow them to use their 'sufficiently-advanced-science'. They didn't say they had a huge computer farm somewhere, just that they have a computer tucked away somewhere safe. ...I don't geet it. A group of crows is called a murder, like a group of cows is called a herd or a group of bees is called a colony or a group of kittens is called a kindle.

...I don't geet it. It's got to do with collective nouns. Growing up is the process of learning collective nouns, it has nothing to do with strangling at all. a group of kittens is called a kindle. Unless they're dry. Then they're kindling.

Does anyone else remember that? I have a terrible feeling I'm going to be spending some time archive binging to find out... I'm pretty sure it was in Blinking that Anja talked about her "programs", just to save you some time. Here's the search engine: www.louisxiv.co.uk/gunnerkrigg/

From memory, Anja has the computer, Don has access to it for 'storing things' I suspect this has a bearing on the nature of the Court.

Here's the search engine: www.louisxiv.co.uk/gunnerkrigg/I fear 'search engine' is a little grandiose for our humble index page (but thanks :) ). What would be nice in addition is a text search for those: where did someone say program? queries, but I'm concerned about the copyright implications of including all the dialogue in a search page. Not to mention the work of typing it up.

But the *size* of the computer was not mentioned. Simply because of the time factor, I imagine that each individual computer on Kat's apparently-at-least-14 racks (with at least 12 computers on each of the first three racks we got a good look at) is more powerful than Anja's complete system was when she first built and programmed it.

May I suggest that a group of collective nouns be called a 'strangling'? I would call myself, but a district court has ordered me to stop making word suggestions to Webster over the phone. Something about harassment. >year of our lord MMXIII >failing to grasp the implications of implying

"Just because you don't see a wizard, doesn't mean you don't see a wizard." - misquoth Asprin, in turn misquoting Toth-Aamon. I don't claim his level of skill. Me neither. We can't have that. Let me remove those. Here you go! That's what happens when they grow up. Now I have a mental nightmare of kittens boop It could be worse: a nightmare of puppies. Materialized. For example, the collective noun for bankers is "wunch." scnr Wait, we are playing "murder of crows" now? In this case, a group of zombies is called "shamble".
