I wouldn't be surprised if he said it to manipulate her. I wouldn't be surprised if the "seed bismuth" was just Coyote trying to get Annie to let him across the bridge unnoticed. That doesn't quite seem his style. He's sworn to never directly harm the Court (giving him less reasons to get over there unnoticed, though by no means none). Furthermore, this seems far more subtle than anything that we've seen from him before (though, of course, it could be unraveling another side of his antagonist side).

I don't think Coyote's feelings for anyone go beyond considering them objects of curiosity. So far he has not been shown to value anything, even himself. Even if true, he doesn't want his toys to break. Annie's more interesting if she's not stung by a wisp wasp.

Well, that's an interesting point to consider... Really, when would he be able to link to her mind and insert himself there to defend her or tease her in the future? I say when he zapped her scar after seeing it for the first time. I was thinking at some point during her stay in the forest, but that works too. Gunnerkrigg Court: Indoctrination theory

That doesn't quite seem his style. ...Which would be exactly what he wants you to think.

The one thing you do know is that you will never get a straight answer.
And I find that hilarious.
It's y'all's fault for imagining me this way! Wahahahah, the irony!

It's y'all's fault for imagining me this way! Wahahahah, the irony! Dammit, desert guy. You are still making us miserable a thousand years later. We have found a new main antagonist, methinks.

Well, yeah, if his theory is true. Which starts a whole new topic. And can you really say Coyote's a bad guy?

I meant Deserty Guy was the antagonist for creating Coyote. And I love Coyote's character. He's perfect. When he's not a memory-stealing skeleton. I liked him, a lot, as a trickster mentor. He's actually the reason I started reading in the first place. I was pissed when Tom revealed him to be at least part evil.

For introducing him...? I don't understand. I thought you meant for creating him. IF his theory is true, of course. I love him too, partly because I have no idea how he ticks and how fun he can be.

Well, if Coyote's a god, being partly evil is understandable. Most gods are like that. I guess a eternity with nothing to do can cause you to go a little loopy. Though I was completely exasperated when he started to reveal that bad side. I'm disappointed, lordcoyote

Okay, now that is just enerringly close to my theory... I was going to give it up after Coyote "turned out to just have been nearby" on monday. But now, the evidence is stronger than ever before. I am convinced that, somehow, Coyote is literally inside Annie's mind. Quite possibly in more ways than one; but by at least one meaning of that phrase, he's in her head. You're welcome.
