No one expected that much cute. None of us were prepared. Just lucky we didn't suffer any casualties.

Go to page 995 and show that page to me, you need to be all 'I TOLD YOU SO' to me, cause I thought this wasn't going to happen on THIS page. I was wrong.

Hehehehehe... I knew it. I knew it. I kept theorizing in the previous thread that it may have been from Paz and after some time I finally got the conclusion. Huh... it's nice when thigs work out.

Okay, I've gotta comment again, I haven't been this thrilled since, well, I can't recall. Ever since I caught up with the current pages for the first time this has to be the most thrilling page. Even though we all knew this was to be revealed sooner or later. We thought about Kat, then Bobby, then both, and we got it right. Even though all of this, it still feels great and thrilling to read this page, I read it once and I'm going to read it more times.
Also, shouldn't we call this pairing for Kaz or Pat?

I would like to see a bit more of Paz. Always thought her a delightful mix of pragmatic and vulnerable. Next awkward scene: Annie owning up to her role in the ' balloon incident'!

She'd not only break Paz' heart, but also... all of the fandom's. Kat, she'll make you happy! Alistair would've wanted that!

Oh I just got one thing now. So this is why Tom made her like birds...
Also, we need to collect all Paz pages, where she is mentioned or makes an appearance.

Anyway, as a chick who mainly likes other chicks but occasionally digs a dude, I agree that chicks hooking up with each other on the webcomics is overrepresented especially compared with gay or bi guys. Not complaining about there being heaps of ladiez at all of course . Just that with some authors (I don't include Tom in this categorisation) it seems that the reason they depict lesbians is because they think it's hot while they think gay guys is gross. Which is poor reasoning for both! As a gay guy, I kind of agree that it's easier to portray lesbians than male homosexuals as a certain type of reader will enjoy the former as fanservice. But, I think that can't be aimed at Tom. Because his story is mostly about women rather than men anyway and yet of his five queer characters two (Shadow and Robot) are male or male identifying and their relationship gets as many big couple moments as the one openly lesbian one (Zimmy and Gamma). And our fifth queer character, Paz, seems so far to be bisexual. So we have 2 male gays, 2 lesbians, 1 bisexual and 28 hetrosexuals (Jack, Annie, Kat, Smitty, Parley, Eglamore, Anja, Donald, Tony, Surma, Brinnie, the headmaster, Diego, Jeannie, the elf, Matt, Margo, John, Bob and his wife, bud and lindsey, willie and janet, reynardine, mort, Alistar and Chang E) by my count with the rest of the character's sexuality unspecified. That seems pretty reflective of reality, really. And would do even if we end up having to move Kat from one category to another.

I think Tom does it the right way- and as a result because the characters are themselves, you get fair representation!

I believe Annie is going to be even more estranged to the court if these two will be dating. At least her relationship to Kat will suffer for it for sure, not only because Kat might move out again but foremost because Annie will scoop down to second place on Kat's list.
far shot mindfart: Annie and Kat eventually becoming Archenemies and fighting the Court/Forest War.

to me this isn't like any other lesbian ship mainly because Tom has put alot of effort justifying why Kat would be confused / lesbain. For example, in Homestuck it was vaugly hinted at that Rose was lesbian for a few years but never did the comic explore any of Rose's feelings about it. One day Rose got drunk and confessed her love to a female vampire alien. It was great and funny, but lacks even half the emotion Paz's confession wrot. Anyways here is some of my speculation
1. First off who knows if Paz or Kat are really "lesbian" I mean god they are like 14 years old this could just be teen drama. 2. Jeliousy just might mean Paz is lonely 3. I would be really surpised if Kat didn't immediatly run away, well thats what I would do atleast x.x 4. If Kat was lesbian she would obviously be in love with Ann.

Huh. Well, that happened. I always took it as a viable possibility, but didn't really seriously consider it, much. Why have a robot write it, though, and in a way that made it seem like it came from the said robot? Because Paz feared that Kat wouldn't show up if she wrote it, herself? Alas, I fear that this will go down as yet another note in the list of Paz's unlucky moments. Oh well, I'm sure that Tom is perfectly capable of handling this plot respectfully and showing certain detractors that it is possible to have some homosexuality in a story about schoolgirls without succumbing into cheap fanservice. Anyways, there's still the Friday's twist left: it turns out that someone else actually wrote the letter, but Paz is trying to steal the glory!

Perhaps Paz is pansexual. From here it seems like all it took to set her off was Kat being nice to her and that's it. Which kind of begs the question; WHO THE DOUBLE FUDGE SUNDAE IS BEING MEAN TO PAZ?! D8< I mean, in the Faraway Morning Kat is the only one who goes to comfort Paz, even before that when Winsbury brings up Matt's moon girl incident Kat seems like she feels bad about how Paz is visibly bothered (but trying to be friendly) about the situation. Heck, Paz wasn't even a part of the group in the power station either. Margo and Janet go along and they're in the Faraway Morning but no Paz. :c Is she just tagging along? How well do people get along with her? If Kat is really the only one that nice to her, that's really sad! I was thinking something along the same lines, that Paz is more of an outcast than Kat and Annie or even Zimmy and Gamma because even those guys have each other. It would explain why Paz became attached so quickly. Etheir way, as sad as it is to say I believe Paz's unluckiness is probably going to continue, poor Paz might be just a plot device, or catalyst, for Annie and Kat, but Im sure she'll be happy in the end. Then again if her and Kat end up together thats cool too. OH NOOOO THE SADDEST PART IS I HAVE A SNEAKING SUSPICION THAT YOU'RE RIGHT (I mean l'd love annie/kat to be a thing, or just for kat to finally talk to someone about how she's been dealing with that these past few months, but Paz ;n; ) And yeah seconding the guesses that Kat's going to turn her down or be awkward, at LEAST for now - we've just had one big reveal that it's been building for hundreds of pages, I highly doubt we're going to get two in a row. Actually, come to think of it, the next strip is almost certainly going to be a cut to Annie and Kat in the lunchroom talking about it (if not something else entirely)... Kat's visit to Bobby and Paz was happening at the same time as their trip into the forest, so thus before her and Annie were talking in the cafeteria, right, unless I'm just very confused about the timing here? So we may have already seen how Kat's feeling afterwards, awkward as all get-out. Even if Paz's confession is the catalyst to Kat having to finally acknowledge / talk about it, which she hasn't directly to ANYONE, I highly doubt there'll actually be much resolution any time soon. Anyway, this was SUPER SUPER CUTE, paz, aaaaaaaaa.

I expected this to happen, but I didn't expect it to be so direct, I mean I find it a little werid that paz is so direct now. I hope Kat won't be too shocked, I mean, I'm sure she'll reject her sortoff, and I know she won't be mean intentionally, but I fear it will be awkward (and painfull) for both again. I just want to say that I love that this community is so accepting and I don't think I've ever seen any homophobic remarks on this forum (at least in recent memory; not that Tom would tolerate it!). I have come to expect this here and maybe take it for granted since it's a nice corner of the internet (but then again, IT'S THE INTERNET). *ruins it by bringing it up* What are you talking about? everyone loves lesbians, even homophobic guys. (if kat and paz where guys, that would be a different story)

you're very confused. this page is happening at the same time as annie is talking to Parley and smithy, which is after the forest run, and after the cafeteria. unless... I'm mistaken?

As a big fan of Paz i just have to say: YES!
I'm loving the fact that Tom's developing her character some more. Whatever Kat's answer is, this should be quite interesting. This might explain why Paz was so quick to think Kat was hitting on her in Faraway Morning.
