Kat, she is just the character most like me, Daft Punk, The Prodigy and Orbital. Ohh, and robots. And other inventions. SCIENCE YEAH!

Wouldn't mind a "None" option, unless that counts as "Other." I know the pain of losing a mother far too soon and the loneliness of little other attached family as Antimony does. I also know the rage and wrath at a universe that could rob one of a beautiful lover, the fiery anger that Jeanne possesses. I, too, know of Zimmy's misery that comes with being unable to trust one's own mind, of the things that lurk in the shifting shadows that pool beneath the eyes, of the insects that never cease their creeping and crawling and skittering and chittering and chattering and scattering over and over the skin, the ones that are only as real as you let them be.
These days, I suppose I'm most like Jones, but I hide my true observations and feelings behind a facade of fake laughter and silliness to better blend in with humans.

Smitty cuz I've always been the calm bro who didn't get it when someone liked him.

I put "Other" because I find myself identifying with Jack a lot.
He's very curious and not overly concerned with rules or expectations that others have of him.
Plus he's shown himself to be something of an urban explorer, which is one of my favorite hobbies.

This was a hard choice for me. I narrowed it down to Antimony, Kat, and Anthony. I probably think the most like Kat, as I'm into science and computers, but socially, I'm closer to Antimony and Anthony. Pages 610 and 620 basically sum up how I've felt all throughout highschool. It was... rather emotional for me to read through those.

You know, I really like Kat; but to be honest the character I see who's most like myself is Jones. Mostly because I tend to be the very serious, emotionally reserved type. (Well, when I'm not on the Internet... )

I used to identify most with Eggers, probably because I'd probably have a tough time interacting with Antimony too. But now that we know more about his relationship with Jones I think I'll switch to Don Don. Not only am I an older guy but I think I can empathise with teachering. Still trying to persuasively explain how particulates can enter hot liquids without deforming them and move in them faster than the fluid itself moves (provided that they're small enough and the liquids are really really blipping hot).

Jones for me, for all the wrong reasons. Our personalities are way too similar and that can't be good for either of us.

Intriguing... kat is winning! Well, out of all the characters she's the most likely one to enjoy a story like Gunnerkrig so...

Yeah, Kat is debatably the most "normal," close-to-mean-age-of-average-reader character in the cast. I'm not surprised she's ranking first.
-Crush on childhood rolemodel -Into tech -Has "indie" taste in music -Loves video games and other generally "nerdy" things (knowledge of Princess Mononoke implies an at least surface-interest in anime) -Stable and loving parents -Kinda awkward -Childhood crush turned into a bird and left forever... I mean, moved away -Possibly questioning her sexuality, but certainly insecure about it
The list goes on.
I personally can't say I relate to any of them, but if I was forced to pick... yeah, Kat.

-Has "indie" taste in music It was wise of you to put "indie" in quotes, because I don't know if Prodigy would count. Although, since she has said that she likes Jilted Generation better than Fat of the Land, she could be reasonably considered "hipster".

Yeah, generally when I use quotes in cases like this, it's something that's definitely based on your point of view and is a debatable opinion. I personally have no opinion on the matter, as I am unfamiliar with the bands/albums she has mentioned, along with shirts she has worn. Indie has become this terrible catch-all term, and I am certainly guilty of using it liberally. I guess I should have said something more along the lines of "she has an actual opinion and taste in certain music, rather than just listening to Pop (as many people her age are wont to do)." But that was easier.

I agree that Kat is the most likely character to actually read GKC. But is she really mean age? I'd be curious about reader stats for this comic.

This is on average, you understand, there are plenty exceptions. Look up the site on Alexa. (ROFL, the comic is more popular in Sweden and Canada than it is in England)

I guess kat & annie are the most likely to be empathised with as they're the 2 most main chars. A bit surprised that some of the other male characters aren't higher up on the list given how male the audience is? Then again i guess we don't spend that much time with many of them other than Rey, Coyote etc.

When your other options are Kat and Annie's parents (I'd guess late 30s, early 40s), I'd say they're closer, haha.

Katimony's parents would be somewhere between 38 and 45 I reckon, if they are about 14 or 15 years old.

I think I'm most like Parley. I share a lot of her energetic personality traits, and often have trouble admitting my own emotions and attachments. I'm also quite taken in with martial arts and weapons practice.
Plus, my parents had picked "George" as my name, should I have been born a boy. Considering the doctors told my parents I was a boy right up to my birth (at which point it was more like "oops...well girl it is"), I was pretty close to sharing a name with her.

Zimmy! Mentally ill (well, it's not quite that for her, but that's the real-world equivalent), Brummie-type accent, into girls (I'm bi not lesbian though), secretly nice but doesn't want anyone to know, perceptive, likes rain. There's lots I don't have in common with her, but there's so few characters in anything that share even one of those first traits with me (and aren't written totally unsympathetically) that I've always thought she was great.
My second choice would be Kat, but as people have outlined above, probably the same for most of us.

Zimmy and Gamma. My best friend and I switch back and forth between the two from time to time.
