Imagine a world where Gunnerkrigg Court & Gillitie Wood is all totally into disco. Well, here's some musicians I think some of these guys would be if there were such a world: Coyote First up is Great Lord Coyote, who is in the disco universe a Great Disco Queen. Who might be a M2F, but no one cares about that 'cause she's the best anyway. Just like Coyote. Amanda Lear - EnigmaThat Jones lady or whatever. Well, here's a pretty amazing fit I think you'll agree. ... Just don't look at the picture because for some reason† the uploader went with a self shoot cleavage teen for the picture for the song. >_> The Warlord - Ultimate Warlord†) More views, I guess? :V Egg-more So eh, I dunno, I guess I was just thinking about some real manly disco artist... Divine - You Think You're a ManKaterina Maria Donlan Tangerine Dream - Live at Conventry Cathedral 1975Wait, I'm not even doing disco anymore, what the! Why did I choose this then?! Oh, right 'cause they are awesome just like Kat is! Although I was pondering making her Giorgio Moroder, because they both have pretty amazing mustaches! Shadow 2 This one's so obvious I don't even need to explain it! Joe Bataan - Rap O Clap O

Dunno why, but this song reminds me of Gunnerkrigg Court, maybe because its a classic english Folk ballad with a modern subject.

Some more tracks for Kat and her robot friends/worshipers. I love Machinarium. It's entire style is very much in line with Gunnerkrigg Court at times. It also has a spiritual sequel, Botanicula, which in turn does a great reflection of the Forest.

Like Crab for when the forest beings ran from Fire Head Annie
Or Level 3 for when she is meeting the (summer) forest people for the first time
And Submarine I think, for Ysengrin

Based on the fact that Kat likes mainstream British bands like The Prodigy, I'm pretty darn sure she listens to The Police as well.
I also found a good theme for her inevitable transition to godhood.

Recently, I've been getting vibes of Bad Company (by 5FDP) in the comic - only the tune in the first 50 seconds. Not sure why, though.

I just recently heard the song myself, since I'm not usually into these kinds of tunes, but I can't help but think about Annie going fire elemental (salamander? ) to Fall Out Boy's "My Song Knows What You Did in the Dark" because of the phrases in the chorus "So light em up, I'm on fire!".

For some bizarre reason the awesome cover of Convoy In The Sky by Jello Biafra and Mojo Nixon seems appropriate to the present arc
Yup, Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys, and this is off the album that got him beat up by Dead Kennedys fans, although IMHO that really had more to do with his acrimonious relationship with the other band members after it broke up (They ended up suing him over royalties and won).
Also, Convoy In The Sky is typical of how bad mindless commercial Country & Western can get, but somehow Jello Biafra and Mojo Nixon make it not only listenable but awesome.

That's bretty gool. I never knew he did that. Weird to hear his voice singing something other than "Let's Lynch the Landlord".

David Maxim Micic - Smile:
I just found out about this album. The whole thing has a definite Miyazaki vibe to it. Like if Spirited Away was an album, this would be it. But this one in particular is a perfect fit for Zimmingham, mood, lyrics, vocals and all. Don't worry though, the rest of the album is a lot lighter.
(Metalhead bonus: wait until 8:18 for a guest solo by none other than Jeff Freakin' Loomis.)

So I was at work and this song popped into my head and I realized how Rise Against just seems to totally give me Gunnerkrigg Feels.

And what a feel, those GK feels. A lot of them come from the playlists I put on when I was reading through the first few times. Now I can't listen to those songs without making that connection in my head. Especially the last one.

Very delicious. :9

This makes me think of when the robo-goddess transformation happens. Hopefully not, though (being to blame for a war/fight/something, not the transformation.)

Oh,yay! I was looking for a thread like this! I hope people still post on here. There's this song that makes me think of Annie. It doesn't have any vocals, it's just a nice, catchy instrumental. Tell me what you guys think!
It has a rather laid back, casual rhythm, but also sort of carries a mischievous and curious side too. (Which both are big traits of Antimony prevalent throughout the comic.) I think maybe it would make for a good theme song for her.
