Just wondering (and this has probably already been asked justed couldn't find it when I used the search function) If there were any plans for any GC Merchandise? (Other than the book I've already ordered ;D ) A lot of other webcomics seem to find shirts and stuff a decent way to make some cash and I would buy one. there are a few sites I think (thinkgeek.com is one) that takes all the work out of it for the author and gives them a decent deal on the merchandise. I would love to see a few shirt's posters and such.
I would especially be interested in a GC Football (and for all us US peeps I mean Soccer) Jersey. Anyone else out there want to buy some other GC merchandise?

Merch suggestions:
Necklaces with either the Antimony symbol, or the Bismuth Symbol. Bismuth would probably be easier, as Antimony is somewhat complex.
Reynardine Plushes. 'Nuff Said.
T-shirt designs... TicToc (The wallpaper one would be great), Reynardine in toy and Wolf form, Annie and Kat back to back, smiling at the Camera... Eglamore in Armor, Maybe one of Coyote. The signals sent in Fangs of summertime would be nifty... Gunnerkrigg's on the front, with the Wood's on the back.
Also possible, Patches/buttons with the Gunnerkrigg Court logo.
I think that would make a good opening selection.

I was thinking about something along these lines W00t! What became of the "I'm too incompetent to market stuff" thing (I thinksomething like that were your words)? Not that I'm complaining about the change of mind ;D

Tom if you don't print that so that I can give you money to put it on my body, I will be very sad.

Maybe two shirts. One serious (the S1 design) and one something like this

Personally, I like to be a little bit more subtle. I'd love just the antimony symbol on a shirt. Maybe 10cm high.
I do like that robot design from above though.

I'd kill for a Boxbot shirt, although I do think that "TERRIBLE" would be a better caption for him. I just find the use of that adjective inordinately funny.

I like those two designs. I agree that TERRIBLE would go well too. I like the Boxbot though! I think it's cute.
T shirts with characters or too many colours or solid colours rather than outlines I usually don't buy because I find the solid colours to be less flexible than the material and images of characters tend to be too big and for a girl with a fitted t shirt the images ends up being quite distorted!

Nice! Both of em! Also loved the idea about the Antimony symbol T-SHirt. I would buy the winged robot shirt. The boxbot would have to wait a bit though.

Is my suggestion for a Coyote shirt with the verbiage "Original Trickster" still under consideration? =D

store.frozenreality.co.uk/From the webcomic Bunny - he has plushies of the main characters. It works well for him as the charcters are very simple and cute/funny. Not sure it would work with GC though. With a more complex character I don't think it would come out right. You can get toys of Weebl's Stuff cartoons, but again they're just daft, silly characters. www2.printshop.co.uk/Weebl/Shop/Plushies/Category.html I don't think it would work with a more serious character.

That's why you do either Boxbot, the TicTocs, and/or Reynardine as the plushes. They're the simplest characters in the comic, visually, and would work the best as plushes. Maybe even Robot's little Mouse body would work.
Love the T-shirt designs, Tom. Love the detail on Robot's wings. I agree that 'Terrible' might be a better word to put on the Boxbot shirt.
Additional designs would probably be something like was already suggested, a simple antimony symbol. Elegant, and understated.

Weren't you going to do t-shirts once and that went down the pan? What happened with that?

Oh, I liked those designs, also. The Coyote one was brillant, as were the Court/Forest ones. Some people just like simpler designs. Now, Mr. Siddell, please make these shirts happen. I mean, help me give you my money, mate

Not really mocks, but he made a poll topic, a long time ago, with the drawings and stuff. You can find it here.

Ya Just took a look at the old ideas. Seriously the Court and Forrest ones were killer. They would especially be great with the names of the court and forest under them in smalltype or on the backs. Coyote was also a decent one but in truth I would probably only buy the Court and forrest ones out of the old ones. Would stil buy the S1 shirt and would love to see something with the alchemy of Antimoney on it.

The design wasn't very interesting. The Forest and Court designs were very interesting! Meaningful for GC-Fans yet simple enough for encounters with normal people. Hmm, works for Coyote, too. ("Yeah, just some Aztecan art.") The Boxbot design is funny and the S1 shirt is just beautiful. Oh, what the hell am I talking about? I would wear them all because I like them (given a decent fabric quality) and I would buy them all simply because I want Tom's dream come true (you know, with the money). And I think I'm not the only one.

@tom: I thought the main reason that kept you from selling stuff was finding someone to print them at a reasonable price? Have you found someone by now?

Yeah I have a system in mind that would deal with most of the hassle. The main thing that has stopped me was not having a good design to put on a shirt.

Ah, cool.
As for the design: Simple black and white stuff (like the drawing above or the mort-shirt) always works, it has something elegant to it. I guess it'll be easier to make a decision when the money from the book starts rolling in.
edit: OR you could open a shop were people can only pre-order stuff. That'd be a method of testing which design works.

I'm TOTALLY in for the Reynardine plushie. Who doesn't want a snarky wolf in your bag? I also like the Boxbot shirt, though I wonder if having the caption as "failbot" would be more amusing.
Another idea for merch, though this one is definitely more complicated. A deck of cards made out of the chapter pages (for the royalty + special cards), and iconology found in the series for the rest of the suits?
If you don't want to make a full plushie of the characters, I suppose mini-plushie keychains work too?
Sidenote: It appears that I can't send forum activation emails to Gmail, thus I've been waiting days in insurmountable agony for the ability to post.
