Yeah, cookies to whoever called it that Annie knew he was full of it.
I am honestly really proud of how she's handling all of this. You've really grown up, Antimony.

Ensnaring him in her firehead hair. Good thing she's keeping her cool here.

Hahaha, Annie is playing the player. So... I'm remembering that trickster gods get outsmarted in their own stories more often than not. So I hope this is going in that direction.

Additional mini-cookies for the people who postulated that they are still separated and "in there" somehow. Who knows how truthful whatever Loupyote shows will be... and how much he'll be listening in... I hope the situation Ys' psyche is in isn't too sad... *prepares to be sad* Edit: Dat hair loop doe

That's a classic bit employed both by and against Tricksters.
"I bet you can't _________."

Or he's just completely not in control or has very little influence/has no idea what's going on and is helpless and pleads with Annie for help... Or he has to do some weird last-resort thing to keep Loup at bay or something... So many possibilities. Looking forward to the next update.

Great, I didn't even think about what Ys is going to look like, nor what state he's going to be in.
THANKS FOR MAKING ME FEEL SAD NOW.

Great, I didn't even think about what Ys is going to look like, nor what state he's going to be in. THANKS FOR MAKING ME FEEL SAD NOW. And all without proof! For all we know Ysengrin's super content with his current situation! Totally possible! ... Yet I feel it's unlikely! *forced smile* How about Loupyote will draw a Ysengrin face on one of his paws and have it talk to Annie like a puppet? Would that be good? (Sorry. )

I'm really curious to see how this shakes out. The biggest complaint I've kind of had with this whole thing is Loup kind of feels all Coyote, no Ysengrin, so this is a direction I'm pretty pleased with.

Careful now, Annie. If you speak to one of them, the other (Coyote) might make an appearance as well.

The first face of Loup makes him sound like Rockin n Rollin Yoda in my head for some reason. Careful now, Annie. If you speak to one of them, the other (Coyote) might make an appearance as well. I'm still not sure if Coyote making an appearance would be preferable to Loup or not

Shouldn't it be 'You need only to tell me what you need!' ?

Shouldn't it be 'You need only to tell me what you need!' ? No, the way it's worded is correct.

What an abomination, this Loup.
Also, now that Antimony has pointed it out, his verbal tenses are driving me crazy. I'm poring over minutiae in his speech to see if Coyote is alive too - because if he is, it means Loup is this self-aware, gestalt skin-suit that both Coyote and Ysengrin are attached to.
Or it means that there is no such thing as Loup, that Loup is a weird slurry of Coyote and Ysengrin's impulses and thoughts at once - both being driven by the still-self aware Coyote and Ysengrin, with primary action driven by whichever of two feels more strongly about whatever's going on at the moment.
Either way, it's hideous. What a mess, this is.
I'm sure Coyote will have himself a good laugh at all this, later.

Loup is a ... pup? Just look at that cute face in the middle. Totally. A very dangerous, very manic puppy This also ties into his lack of proficiency as a trickster god mentioned before - if he's indeed a new being and not some kind of a sockpuppet for Coyote, then it makes all kinds of sense. Heh. Maybe Coyote actually is dead because he wanted to check it out for lulz* but as for Ysengrin, I'm betting he withdrew because of his self-worth issues, and is letting Loup, a new and perfect being, carry the torch. A perfect being. OMFG Ysengrin what were you thinking. * if we really saw Coyote's totem out there, then he is indeed dead, robot style - remember? Same could be going for Ysengrin.

Annie's Ether-hair is flowing again and making panel borders! I am so happy! And so proud of her, playing that Loup guy like that! Loup is a ... pup? Just look at that cute face in the middle. Well, he was created just some days ago. So, yes, he is, in a way. One thing to nitpick: When Annie is questioning Loup's grammar, should she not say "If he were really gone[...]"? Since she wants to say it is not the case.

I take it that Tom is being intentional on this one as well. Nobody speaks perfectly—even when you’re right. In fact, Annie’s sentence makes it sound less like a gotcha and more like a genuine inquisitive. That’s good for her to play with him. “If he were really gone” sounds like an act of defiance, “if he really is gone” sounds like the beginning of mourning. Annie’s playing like a pro.

I'm guessing this will involve a totem visit, and perhaps a "guiding" to the Ether. From the "forest branches/vines" borders, I imagined Loup had Ysengrin's old Forest power, as well as, Coyote's strength. I wonder, if we're about to interact with the "true" unaltered Ysengrin, for the first time. His mind might certainly be clearer.

Loup is a ... pup? Just look at that cute face in the middle. Totally. A very dangerous, very manic puppy Loup makes me think Ritalin pill bottles go to the Ether, after they're empty. Coyote struck me as someone with ADHD "mostly" under control, but Loup does seem like he's off his meds. Or worse, truly manic, which for none Etheric beings eventually leads to a crash. His psyche may just need to settle, or Annie could end up seeing the flip side of this mania. Coyote's ADHD and Ysengrin's self-louthing combined could easily be seen as bipolar. Do Etheric beings have support lines?

I trust Antimony knows what she is doing. [...] She may be young and stuff but Annie is actually pretty remarkable, very clever, and good at smoothing out disagreements. It seems to us like Loup is this God-level impossible challenge for her, and that his abusiveness is horribly hurtful and manipulative, but in fact I think he's just a couple of very overpowered canines with a history that she knows well enough to use. I don't think Annie is overwhelmed yet. Also also, Annie cares about Ysengrin and Coyote as friends, and as their friends, is not going to put up with their combined shit. Hold out on this with me for a minute. If I'm wrong, and it all sucks, you'll all get cookies. *lets self have a quarter of a cookie* (it could still all go south, but at least we've seen once again Annie is no pushover)
