"Did the watery tart give you a sword and proclaim you king of England?"
EDIT: "No no, HE gave me my hairclip back! The cheeky bugger must've nicked it!"

"Did the watery tart give you a sword and proclaim you king of England?" Well the watery tart certainly gave someone a sword, but I don't think that made him king of England... Parley's teleportation must be the best thing Jimmy Jim Egg Boy has ever had happen to him. His work commute has suddenly dropped to nothing in the last few months; how did he get anything done before Parley?

We know that James is more than capable of getting around under his own power.

I for one am surprised that Eglamore gave up so quickly/easily on a chance to fight with Tony. It must also be noted that Tony is wearing a shirt whose lapels are conducive to hoisting one into the air, and yet Eglamore has passed up this opportunity. Truly, is this even the same guy? (He probably avoided it because there were kids present and Annie proved she was going to the woods of her own free will. But still.)

Not much to say about this page, except an observation, maybe relevant, maybe not: Parley and Eglamore are going to "sector 7G". When the attack happened, Eglamore sent Parley to "E1". One has number first, letter second, the other one has letter first, number second. Which makes me think E1 is a codeword for a specific place, and not a sector designation. Also, the sixth panel shows again how tall Tony is.

They seem to have changed their minds about Andrew accompanying them (unless he's only going part of the way). Though his "producing order from chaos" ability might help here, if Annie's bonds with Ysengrin aren't enough.

If Annie had Renard with her, it would look very Wizard of Oz like.

By the way, do they have a plan how to get over the ravine besides climbing? And one in case the shield does not let them out?

Nah, he's probably just going to accompany them to the edge of the shield to help tell the Jeanne story and see Annie off. I wonder if they're going to try to cross where Kat and co. are so she can get readings off Arthur?

I think he gave up because his fight with Tony was about to become a fight with Annie (she made her intentions clear). James wants to direct his anger at Tony, the guy he never liked. But he can't do that now without also attacking Annie's decision. We saw him caught in a similar situation with Surma in the last flashback. Fighting with Tony is satisfying in a way. Fighting with Annie (or Surma) is just painful.

Or both could be codewords instead of coordinates (I remember someone noting that E1 is the white king spot in chess) [Edit] or that [/Edit] Maybe Annie and Jones continue alone after the border. By the way, do they have a plan how to get over the ravine besides climbing? And one in case the shield does not let them out? Why wouldn't the shield let a fire elemental and Gaia itself to pass through? It's not like they're both etherical beings in human form

And Tony a Cowardly Lion? or Tony as the tin man (needs a heart!) and Jones as the lion (correct mane color at least...)? (anyone who surgically removes their own arm is hard to call cowardly...) edit: (and while Jones is not cowardly, she does hang back and just observe, so to not interfere/get involved with human affairs)

Clearly, with Annie's new outfit and her recent teaming up with Jones, we need a theme song for the upcoming events! Any suggestions?

Nothing wrong with it, but all good long-form audiovisual media have more than one song, primarily because different scenes have different moods The music you link to is what I like to think of as 'game start menu' or 'DVD menu' music.

The music is Heal (OST name) from the Ico game. Maybe from some menu, dunno. Never played it but it seems good! Don't ask me what it's doing as an easter egg on GK website, I guess Tom or someone else from staff liked it

I cannot think of anything less suited to a GC theme song than Two Steps from Hell.
If you want something that captures GC the closest in terms of audio and visual aesthetic, go look up the Hollow Knight OST. It's not quite the right tone, seeing as its a sort of post-apocalyptic lament instead of a desolate but functioning city or a vibrant and wild forest, but it's the closest I've seen a single work come to hitting GCs vibe.

Followed by a Coyote taking over the body, vomiting Ysengrin and handling him powerless to be detained by the Court. In which we'll see him nearly executed before Annie & Co prove his innocence and Coyote's manipulation all that while we see him slowly recover that fragile atrophied body to his lupine might now that he isn't using tree power to walk around. Then we'll have a story arc entirely dedicated to Ysengrin and Reynardine turning their hostility into a friendly rivalry and then one of them will die for the drama Shit, I did it again... The extremely long term prediction with plot twists that would be reasonable isolated but is almost impossible to happen together

Are we counting flashbacks? Considering she's in some variation of the school uniform for a large part of the beginning, I would hazard a guess of 30+. -- Alright, I got to chapter 20 50 but have to run. This was kinda fun! Maybe I'll finish it later. My count is 33, as of the beginning of chapter 20 50. Most popular so far, by far, is some variation on the school uniform. (If you want to see my craziness in a Google Doc, click here.) It was getting long for a post. I am so glad someone else wasted their time doing this so I wouldn't have to. The fruits of your labor are astounding, and you're amazing for it. Also, Tom is amazing for designing all those outfits, even though he could have been lazy and drawn her in her uniforms all the time. (I'm pulling this convo from the previous thread in case anyone was interested.) Hah, thanks. Yeah, I'm definitely using time I don't have right now. Procrastination! Also gave me a chance to kinda speed-read the comic. As far as I can tell Tom enjoys that aspect of the comic creation. Sometimes he posts new outfits on his Twitter before the chapter starts! BTW, final count is 54 outfits as of where we are now, not counting treatises or side comics (probably 60ish with those). The silly Google Doc is updated. I used my discretion as to what amounted to "an outfit" (sometimes there were enough similarities to assume it was the same piece of clothing). P.S. THE BOOTS made a surprising amount of appearances.

Man, where is Renard? he was absent the whole chapter despite being in the last one right up to the end, beside Annie the whole time, implying he was emotionally with her the whole way in contrast to the absence of her father. Now Tony is here and nothing but support (comparatively and in his own way, but still) and Renard is nowhere to be seen. It's kinda weird now that i think about it.
