I... am not a fan of the design. Like, I get what it's going for, but it looks like a fourteen-year-old's first sparkledog OC. The Dreamworks smirk doesn't help. Maybe it'll look better when we see it in motion, but I just had to shake my head and laugh at it.

I was concerned for the lives and property of the people living in the Court but after today's page I think that Ys may have a future in crime-fighting and derring-do. Any losses of life or property that take place while Ys is fighting crime will surely be incidental. Does this nullify Coyote's promise? Nah. Ys borrowing Coyote's powers isn't Coyote so whatever happens it won't technically break Coyote's promise. |

Good question; Coyote's been around a long time and has a lot of memories, some perhaps contradictory, so Ysengrin shouldn't know everything Coyote knows UNLESS Coyote arranged it that way on purpose. Ah, yeah, I meant to ask if this would cancel out his promise. Still nah, though you can view it as Coyote defeating the spirit of the promise/agreement through a technicality if you wish. When Coyote's back he will still have made the promise and, as long as he isn't recreated as another distinct individual like Ysengrin giving birth to Son of Coyote or something equally bizarre, would still be bound by it. There's an outside chance he may need to be reminded of it, though, and of course if the Court decides to retaliate against the Wood for what Ys is about to do then the promise will lapse. |

So... Coyote gave Ysengrin his strength, now Ysengrin has killed and eaten Coyote and gained ALL of his powers? Does this mean Coyote's mind as well? Is this some unholy meld of the two of them and we will end up with a mental fight between the two of them for power of the same body?
I find it hard to believe that this was not Coyote's plan. How long has he been grooming Ysengrin for this, knowing that Ysengrin will kill him some day and allowing for a body and mind meld. Best thing: now he has two witnesses, both mediums and therefore trustworthy, to say that all of this was Ysengrin, and Coyote had nothing to do with it.

Actually, I think that since he ate Coyote, Ysengrin is still in control; he just gained all Coyote's powers. Maybe he'll have some trouble suppressing some of Coyote's traits, but Ys himself is quite strong-willed, so I think he'll remain in control.
Now, Coyote's initial gift of his strength must have been imperfect like all of his gifts; has Ys now by eating Coyote gained a complete, perfect copy of Coyote's strength? (I guess so.)

He now looks more like Coyote wearing Ysengrin like a badly fitting glove, instead of upgraded Ysengrin.
It's the eyes in particular. And the ear of course (which I agree is a riot)
