Yours is first. I got caught chatting at the IRC. Might be worth changing the title of the thread, though, just because we'd had this exact title before. EDIT: thank you

Why are the Seraphs posing for a family photo?
Also, the robots have definitely switched from cute-somehow-harmless-misguided to harmful-misquoting-misguided.

On other news, Robot S13, I swear I shall live to see you paperclipped, you b*stard. Again.
And finally, here is our long-awaited chapter symbol!

Finally, an answer to the whole "she died and we did nothing" bit. Now just like people the robots can rationalize jerking people around all they want.

Also, the robots have definitely switched from cute-somehow-harmless-misguided to harmful-misquoting-misguided. For me, that happened a while ago, when the Seraph Inquisition was first revealed. Also, I was always wondering why the Seraphs were introduced in the chapter Changes but did not effect any of those eponymous changes. But that makes more sense now, as they enter the center stage of the story.

Interesting touch how he's standing in the exact opposite of shadow when he first turns up. Also treatise Wednesday

Robot has gone off the deep end.
Kat should be aware of this flaw in the robot design given the shrine to Jeanne, but it might take something even more drastic...

S13: What is the Law?
Seraphs: Advance the Creator's work by any means that is worth it.
S13: Yes. Advance the Creator's work by any means that is worth it. That is the Law. Are we not men?
(paraphrasing a scene from 'The Island of Dr Moreau' here. Equally creepy)

Ah, no, NOT OKAY!!! Oh my, oh goodness, I don't like this at all. Robot looks very much the part of the prophet. When did he develop such human mannerisms?

Next page: "but it was worth it" Look who called it. Yes. Gunnercookies to Elysium! Finally, an answer to the whole "she died and we did nothing" bit. Now just like people the robots can rationalize jerking people around all they want. Yup. So they are stampeding from one extreme point to another. Took golems long enough to reach "It's better to regret something you did than to regret something you didn't do" as it is.

The last speech bubble doesn't have a pointer. As in, it is not being spoken by one of the Seraphs on-panel. I therefore conclude - with my first real, "I'm pretty damn sure of this" prediction - that on the next page we will see that it is Robot speaking. Told 'ya so. *Puts on sunglasses and flies off into the sunset* (Perhaps more thoughts later when I've had sleep. )

Ayup, cookies to coolpilot. (Btw, I always liked your avatar.)
I seem to remember that I originally considered the ship to be the villain of this chapter. Seems as if it was merely a chess piece...

Oh no. Not good at all. T_T Robot, why ?... I used to like you a lot but since the first time you called Kat "Angel", you disappointed me a lot. Now I can see how you are the biggest and harmful fool in that story (well, at this point), even bigger than Coyote. :/ I must say I can't wait, too, to see you paperclipped again. Oh I wish that, even if Daedalus is right about the Prophecy and all of that, Kat and Annie will overcome the schism and remain friends. And that the world will continue to spin (the boy will ensure it, right ?).

Oh, wow. I was expecting some Robot preaching, but I wasn't expecting it to be a motivator for the Seraphs.
...Does...does this make Robot the new "Diego"?

...Does...does this make Robot the new "Diego"? My thought exactly, Diego, but with charisma. I hope he can be saved. The seraphs look worn out.

Ayup, cookies to coolpilot. (Btw, I always liked your avatar.) I seem to remember that I originally considered the ship to be the villain of this chapter. Seems as if it was merely a chess piece... Given how little the Ship's motivations were explored (a few statements about its being in "love" with Lindsey, but Paz never got far in her arguing with the Ship that what it was doing was wrong - and after that, even when Lindsey shows up to tear open the roof to let the rain in, it goes unmentioned, with nothing in the "whale"'s final moments about the object of its obsession helping to bring about its defeat), I think you're right, and it was intended as more of a plot-device character. And as for Robot - it seems more and more as if Annie's rescuing him was one of her biggest mistakes ever. The best we can say about the Seraphs (including Robot) is that they believe Kat has a Mission that must be fulfilled, which she can no more refuse than any other "Chosen One" in legend or fantasy - a Mission towards the robots, and which she must not turn aside from. Still, choosing to trap her entire year in Zimmy's world (even temporarily) is sign enough that something must really have gone wrong with them. Couldn't Robot have just pointed out to Kat that she was spending too much time with Paz, and not enough time on her work?

Why Robot why?! Oh, you just said why.
How Robot how?! End-of-Chapter. I guess we may or may not find out how the robots got the etheric tags or how much of the rescue was foreseen and then manipulated by S13 and the Seraphs.
Runner-ups in the quip contest...
- Robot? I knew Robot. You S13, are no Robot!
- You can take S13 out of the Seraph body, but you can't take the Seraph out of S13.
Also ran:
- Robot love is superior to human love, no one died. Except the Ship, who isn't really dead. And the Ship selfishly feel in love with Lindsey instead of devoting all its love to the Creator, so he suffered the fate of the misguided and confused.

Now I can see how you are the biggest and harmful fool in that story (well, at this point), even bigger than Coyote. :/ The difference is that Coyote is perfectly aware of the mayhem he's causing (he just either doesn't care or may even do it on purpose). Robot quite literally doesn't know what he's doing. He's unaware of how harmful the consequences of his actions are, and that is why there's hope for him.

Thirteen is leading his people down a dark road, one that humanity knows well. Many mad prophets have followed this well-worn path, and it leads to the shores of a sea of blood. By the time he shows his true colors, it will likely be too late for anyone to change the way events unfold.

#Worth
Also in dramatic overpseculation, Paz won't really be in Spain at all, but will actually get Paznapped by the Seraphs so they don't hear from her during Summer and she doesnt show up at the beginning of school. Then shiz goes down.
But in actual seriousness, they should have just told Paz how much Kat's work means to them and how cool new robots would be, and maybe if Paz were pushing Kat along she would be done by now, cause getting more kisses means you work harder or something.

Couldn't Robot have just pointed out to Kat that she was spending too much time with Paz, and not enough time on her work? I think the plan was less about Paz, and more about giving Kat a taste of her possibilities. Paz (and probably her safety) were minor concerns. Plus, it pushed her towards making a preexisting robot into flesh. Which death would affect the Ether more; a newly made cyber-organic being, or a devoted believer given new life. Maybe, Robot's plan is to die for Kat, literally.

On other news, Robot S13, I swear I shall live to see you paperclipped, you b*stard. Again. Yeah....I guess the signs have been there for a while but this page really drove it home for me that he's a lot less cute and cuddly than he used to be and veering rapidly into the dark and sinister territory. I still have hope that everything will turn out alright in the end but there suddenly seem to be a whole lot more ways this could go horribly, horribly wrong.
