Look carefully next to Coyote's ribbon thing.

I think it says "Lar"...
Several hundred times.
Interesting onomatopoeia.
I wonder if the story we were just told about the Court was the truth, or a convenient fabrication, or a mix of both.
edit: LOL, my eyes

Liar, indeed. The bridge was added some time after Coyote split the chasm. How would SB, stuck in these ruins, know about it?
Is that Coyote coming to the rescue, or Coyote dropping the disguise? (I think the former)

Am I going to have to be the one who points out how much Annie looks like Jeanne in the first, uh, illustration?

Well, I think this settles the issue of Tom's weird writing in the last two pages.
It seemed stilted because it's just Coyote up to his old tricks.

Word of mouth maybe?
Anyways, looks like the seed bismuth is trying to reach into her head there and she seems to be making a face like 'Get. Out. Of. My. Head!' Or she is just concentrating really hard.

I still think this would be much more satisfying if it turns out to be Coyote manipulating a thoroughly credulous Annie, rather than it being played straight. YES

Wow. As if there weren't four or five hints on this page already. Apparently it had to be spelled out. Repeatedly. Actually, it could know of the bridge. (Willingly suspending disbelief for the moment.) We may infer it's tied to the ruins, but not that it is confined to them. So as not to duplicate entities needlessly, the Annan Waters would be the most naturally assumed confinement. And the bridge is visible from either side, and even accessible, if on the Court's terms. Of course, since there are already plenty of indications that this "SB" is laying a trap of sort, it would make sense to question the details of its story. Starting with the knowledge of the bridge. (Annie? You're making sense.)

Looks a bit like a fly, maybe. From a comment by Tom a few weeks ago, I believe it's based on a yellow jacket wasp. Whether that *is* SB, or Coyote's version, or... something else, we shall have to wait and see.

Still isn't entirely clear whether it is Coyote coming in to save annie from this thing, or whether it was Coyote all along.
Given the Coyote's etheric bits are only coming in now when Annie seems to be entering the etheric world (scar only showed up the last 2 pages) I am thinking it may have been coyote all along anyway.

That this is a trap and that the "SB" is not the real SB, is heavily implied here, but neither of those is actually spelled out: What's spelled out is "LIAR". ;-)

No, I'm Spartacus the Seed Bismuth.
I've been wanting to make that terrible joke for a while, but I wanted to be reasonably sure it wasn't really the Seed Bismuth.

It could just be one of Ysengrin's old minions, trying to manipulate Annie into smuggling him into the court to wreak havoc. It doesn't have to be Coyote every time there's trickery in the forest, guys ;P

Those bands imply Coyote, one way or another.
Coyote doesn't lie, though. Is Coyote warning Annie? Is Coyote employing an agent to test Annie's loyalty? Or is Coyote (dun-dun-dun) the (real) Seed Bismuth?
B-)

Honestly, I'm hoping I can interpret this as suspicious behavior, and that the Exposition Fairy isn't actually the Seed Bismuth, but some spirit that is trying to deceive Annie with easy answers. Maybe this mood whiplash will turn out to have been purposeful, to trick the reader for some bigger revelation later. In which case, I'll gladly eat my words. SCORE. Did I say, in the thread for two pages ago, that I'd be happy to eat my words? Because these words are DELICIOUS. I should be incorrect more often. I knew something felt off. I'm stoked that it was something in-world that was askew. Tom's a master storyteller. I'm struggling with an urge to gloat at anyone who was claiming that it made perfect sense for Ms. Seed to just pop in and lay down the Word like that. But really, I was making as many bad calls as anyone - I was all afraid and complainy because I foolishly feared that Tom was playing this straight!

Geeze.
Seems I wasn't mistaken when I detected that edge of hostility. Though I think this is Coyote being in on the training, and I doubt Annie is in any actual danger(unless you count mental trauma from coyote's overly ruff antics danger...). Coyote may have made her the medium just to make a jab at the court, but he can't have a lemon for a medium, you know?
Only thing I can imagine is playing a bit more hardball before the jig is truly up. Just to push her a bit.

I'm struggling with an urge to gloat at anyone who was claiming that it made perfect sense for Ms. Seed to just pop in and lay down the Word like that. I would resist those urges lest you suffer from footmouth disease. From what I gathered, most people weren't saying it made sense. They were erring on the side of caution for making snap judgements so early in to a chapter. You know, it would make since once it was done, maybe. Which was then responded to with ranting about how it couldn't possibly be okay. Which was entirely founded on the idea this wasn't just a setup to test Annie. It wouldn't be cool of you to attempt to rebrand an argument after the fact to make yourself look better.

Given the Coyote's etheric bits are only coming in now when Annie seems to be entering the etheric world (scar only showed up the last 2 pages) I am thinking it may have been coyote all along anyway. Indeed, it is strongly suggested that Coyote is in play somehow, but not yet clear in any fashion that it would be Coyote who is playing tricks. Although, it is also strongly suggested that the Seed Bismuth or whatever this creature is is playing tricks. That said it also is not yet said that it is not the Seed Bismuth. It entirely as plausible that this is the Seed Bismuth, but that it is a malevolent usurper or at least opportunistically trying to occupy Annie's head.

The first thing that occurred to me based on the author's note and the "You know about the bridge?" line is that Coyote is tampering with her memories, either to achieve some goal directly related to Annie (keeping her away from the Court?) or to warn her off of trying to investigate what's happening to Ysengrin. I think it's a little on the farfetched side, but as long as we're throwing out theories, I'll offer that one.
