I keep forgetting that Annie is still dirty from the Forest. I keep thinking that she's sweating copiously. Anyway, got to love those expressions she has. And apparently Jones follows the Prime Directive, who knew? But then again, this is probably Tom making a point of just how different the society would be if it had even one immortal individual actively shaping it as she sees fit.

Well, now we know why dinosaurs weren't seen during the extended flashback. For this exchange.

Nitpick: I think it would have been more appropriate for Jones to have said "although, current science has many misconceptions..." Jones has always seen science evolve, change, and adapt. She wouldn't consider it at any point to be "modern".

Not gonna lie, that's probably the first thing I'd ask Jones, too. And I'd be just as dejected by her response. Heck, I *am* just as dejected by her response! Jonessssssssssss! It's DINOSAURS!!!! Can't you make an exception for dinosaurs???

Annie makes so many expressions in the page, and they're all adorable. Please dear lord let this panel be a segway to the Jones fighting a T-rex pic Maybe there'll be one in the bonus page, after the chapter. After all, Jones fighting a T-Rex is the only thing that could match the greatness of MORT FUN TIME.

... Jones fighting a T-Rex is the only thing that could match the greatness of MORT FUN TIME. That would be before clothes, too, so another chance to get a clear view of where her belly-button is(n't). She's so human-seeming; one wonders about details like that.

I wonder how Jones feels when talking to other gods or psychopomps, they have a lot of knowledge about human lives and the ether, but they have no idea what Jones is. I see that lack of emotions doesn't mean that Jones doesn't enjoy a good troll. Also, either Tom is reading the forums and updating the comics appropriately or he just knows his reader base too well. Tom puts a lot of thought behind every piece of dialogue, so I believe it was all planned before looking at the forums.

Annie makes so many expressions in the page, and they're all adorable. That - and Jonesy is even exceptionally lovely in every panel as well. I logged in just to note that I find this very page very well drawn.

There's an interesting mix of themes here, of times and places and things to be. Contrast with the Old Robot's views. I'd love to listen in on a conversation between him and Jones.

Make it happen, Tom.
Jones you tease. A few things: Is it just me or does it seem like Jones looks -almost- angry/mad in panel 5 when she mentions Coyote's name for her?
That besides, I find Annie's enthusiasm for Dinosaurs to be adorable.

Topic: avoided.
Also, Jones has a god complex, though I doubt she sees it that way. Gods are famous for letting humanity figure things out on our own.

Could be because of the profile, but it doesn't look like a neutral face. I'm wondering of Eglamore knows all this. I'd assumed he does (he does work with her, after all. Among other things.), but maybe not?

Anyways, by glaring misconceptions, she is likely referring some to behavior, some on physiology and some on color. I guess it would be wise of her to let humanity learn things on our own. How could we learn on our own something that can no longer be observed? Unless we get all Jurassic Park in here, I doubt humans will learn the behavior of a dinosaur any time soon... Same with any dead languages and other things completely lost to time. Sometimes there just aren't enough tools in the world. (This is assuming magic can't fill the gaps. Or maybe she's just waiting for humans to fully embrace magic.) Or she's waiting for us to discover how to time-travel. Which I suppose could be argued is in the same vein as magic. Still, c'mon Jones, don't be the biggest tease of all time.

Well, she and Coyote seems to have one thing in common, at least. (Trolololo) Still, I can see why she doesn't want to make things too easy for humans. It would feel a bit like mothering us, perhaps, and I don't think she's Mother Earth. Like someone said earlier, I imagine Mother Earth would be more emotional.

Once again Jones shows that she isn't completely without will or desires of her own. Or a sense of humor.
I hope the chapter doesn't end without Annie remembering to ask about the stars in the night sky.
And yeah, surely Fun Time With Dinosaurs has got to be the between-chapters funny this time!

Three guesses as to where this led their followers, and some of themselves?

Hey, I sure wouldn't mind some divine doting from this "Jesus" fellow. Seems to me like he's got a 2000 year backlog that hasn't been filled.

I wouldn't mind fusion power, personally. Actually, we already know everything we need to know for that. The problem is one of infrastructure, not knowledge; so unless Jones is volunteering to squeeze a sample really hard...

I wonder if Jones is secretly Chuck Norris ... Hahaha, I know this was a joke. Funny one. But I don't know why I'm taking it seriously. I feel silly. xD Nah. She's better than Chuck Norris. While Chuck Norris is great and "powerful" all, he's an open and committed Republican. I understand that Gunnerkrigg Court doesn't take place in the USA, but Jones would have no official stance on politics or anything with "sides." She seems to be at a neutral stance between the Court and Gillitie Forrest. Although despite being unable to have emotions, she does have a will/choice, as shown on this page—choosing to not tell her memories of the past and allow humans to figure history out themselves. Besides, Jones would crush Chuck Norris. Someone should draw a comic strip of a Jones and Chuck Norris fight. Like, a little Deadliest Warrior spoof, hahaha.

There might be a case for Jones being of the "Norris" archetype. Chuck's tears can cure cancer but has never cried. Jones' tears can do the same but good luck getting water out of a rock.

Haha, right? "Chuck Norris knows the last digit of Pi, but tells no one." Jones is so knowledgeable, what if she does know as well and just refuses to tell since she "decided humans should discover their world for themselves"? "There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live." Jones has been around for a long, looong time. Wouldn't it be funny if this were true for Jones? That's why she's trolling about the dinosaurs. xD
