I've seen some comments round here lately that people would like a better RSS feed. As noted in a recently deleted thread, the official one doesn't really work. So I thought it would be neat to make an unofficial feed, with titles taken from the discussion threads. I put it up here for you guys to have a look at, and also at a backup site here. Edit -- main site was down for a bit, but it's back up now.

Thanks! A couple notes. There is no page 44, and the order of pages goes 43, 46, 45, 47. Also, there is a discussion thread for page 45 here, though it was created quite a while after the fact (by me).

I posted this originally in this thread but it seems my post was deleted. If there's a rule against posting in stickied threads, I apologize. What I wanted to say is that the thread for #45 should probably be added to that list. Also, I was wondering if anyone's interested in "naming" the other pre-198 comics so I can add these to the feed.

There isn't a rule, I think Tom just wants to keep thread clean. You could try pming judgedeadd instead. Also, I seem to remember someone creating a thread for page 8 somewhere.

I did suggest, as a reply to that thread, that creating a sub-board for each chapter would be a neat idea for keeping the place tidy, but my reply was deleted just like yours.
What I mean is, once a chapter is finished, the threads for those pages could be moved into a sub-board named for it, which ought to preserve the threading and bookmarking as far as I know, plus making them easier to find for later reference.

More on-topic for this thread ;-) I wonder whether you could tag each entry with the Chapter to which it refers? I know that the very basic RSS viewer in IE can display things by tags, which would make searching easier.

Thanks for telling me about your post; I'm glad mine wasn't singled out.
I added the chapter tags as a category field -- does this work?

thanks for your work on this! i haven't checked the forums for a while and didn't know this option was available.
a note, the chapter tags aren't working for me and they would definitely be a useful feature.

Nice, glad to see people are using this. Hmm, right now I have the chapters as a <category> field...can you give me an example of a feed that has working tags set up?

i'm using google reader and never tried to use categories before. after messing around i eventually settled on using feed rince to filter for 'chapter 32'. this way i'll be notified when this chapter is finished and can read 31 all at once. thanks again for making this possible.

My personal RSS feed grabs the title for each entry from the Dropdown list on the site. It's easy because you can just search for <option value="423"> to get the Chapter and Page number for #423, for example. Of course, I have been staying up till midnight recently, so I don't use it much anymore.
It also grabs Tom's comment.

I thought about doing it that way, but I really like being able to scroll through the descriptive titles. The trade-off is the potential for spoilers, and the occasional mis-formatted thread (like the one for today) which I have to fix by hand. As for Tom's comments, I personally prefer to read them in context. Does anyone have a preference as to whether they should be part of the feed?
