Alive-ish. We're getting there. x)
I've got the Robot lines and am getting the Unnamed Teacher bit part from Casey...that leaves only the problem of Antimony.
I'll be making a last-ditch effort to get in touch with Deliciouscake either tomorrow or Friday, but I'm anticipating a recast. I'll be opening the part of Antimony up to general audition at some point in the near future. Whether or not this will go into effect for Chapter 1 remains to be seen.
EDITED TO ANNOUNCE: I'll be on a family vacation for the next week, so I'll be online less frequently. However, I will still be checking the forums and my PMs where I can. I'll also be taking the time to get some mental organization of this project done - when I get back, I should have a really clear idea of what needs to happen, and we can finally get on with it.
Thanks for waiting, guys.

Alright, double-posting for new and fairly urgent information:
After every attempt to make contact, I have not heard from DeliciousCake. Sad as it is, we're going to be recasting Annie. I'll be posting to this effect in the Vocal Auditions thread.
I'm opening up special auditions for Antimony Carver for a bit over two weeks. I can extend this if I absolutely have to, but we're already going on several months of nothing much getting done, and I can't do anything until I have an Antimony on board. If you've ever thought about auditioning for a main role, or any role, now's your chance. You're only committed for Chapter 1, though I'd love to find someone who's willing to stay on for a few chapters at least.
Ladies and girls, here's your chance! Upload an audition to YouTube yourself or contact me to get it uploaded. You can read any part or combination of parts you want, just represent yourself well and give us something to vote on!
I'll probably upload an audition once I get home, but I really don't want to have to direct myself. Don't make me. Please. ^.^;;

Well, I just joined (though I have been reading gunnerkrigg for a long time) and I would like to ask, are there any parts you would like animated in subtle ways? i have flash, so I could animate certain things.

From what I remember we weren't going to worry about animation, it making things overly complicated or somesuch.
Besides, I've seen Watchmen: Motion Comic, and that looked pretty clumsy even though it was done by professionals. I think it would detract from what we're trying to do.
Of course the final say is up to Miri.

I don't think we'll be doing animation as a rule. The focus should be on the voices and the fabulous artwork itself.
Alright, reminder to anyone who's still reading: Deadline for Antimony auditions is this coming Friday night at 10 PM U.S. Eastern time. We cannot get this project even started unless and until we have an Annie, and so far I have received not one single audition. I'm hoping we've just got a lot of procrastinators, but I am genuinely worried that we won't be able to move forward. Spread the word, get those auditions ready.

Hi Miri, I'm okay with smoothing audio and have access to an Avid suite which should do the trick. Sorry for the month-long delay, but as I said, I'm intermittently busy, but keeping tabs on what's happenign here.

No problem, we're still waiting for other factors to get moving too. =D Thank you so much!

Oh my, still no Annie hopefuls? I would give it a go, but I'm positive my vocal chords aren't flexible enough to pull multiple, non-samey sounding voices. Plus I'm having enough problems recording-wise with just Kat... Maybe we can get Fuzzyone or Casey to do Annie? (I kid, I kid! But it would be funny .)

I actually have a friend who is English, but she's so not into webcomics that I just don't think it would work out.

Just print off a transcript and don't tell her it's for a comic Only use the words "voice acting".

Come on Ulysses, surely you have English female friends who could do it... considering, you know, that you're English.

Well, uh, this is depressing. It's past a generous deadline and not a single audition.
I don't really know what to say here. I love this project and I want it to work out, but I certainly can't do it by myself and I can't even do it with the support of those of you who've been so enthusiastic about it, because we just don't have the interest level this year.

-tentative wave- well hello there. First time doing any of this, so please don't eat me, but I couldn't help but notice your little predicament, you lack an Antimony? I... may have something recorded... is this where I can post that? or have you closed auditions already... I know I'm a little late on this but I was very sick last week ^^"

I'd try out for Annie, I'd love to try out for Annie, but I have no idea how to do any kind of recording, and I fail at doing accents of any kind.

Hi guys, newbie here. I created this account to say that when I get back from vacation (this Thursday), I'll most likely audition (if auditions are still open at that point). I've been lurking here for a while and I hope this project turns out!

There's not exactly any point in closing auditions if we have none. XD I've extended the deadline for another two weeks, until Friday, August 27th. Fauxfelix: Great to have you here! Just follow the link Ulysses gave you. Digikitty: As Ulysses said, don't worry about accents. Tom has asked us to just use our natural accents, as a fake British accent is far worse than no accent at all. Starrylight: That's fantastic! Thanks for your kind words, and I can't wait to hear your audition.

Okay, so I'm back from my trip. Now I just need to find a microphone! I'm going to try to make an audition sometime this weekend (hopefully when my parents aren't around), and I'll upload it to YouTube at some point.

I'd love to see what peoples' renditions of Coyote sound like. He's awesome. So Completely and Wholeheartedly In Agreement with This Statement.

I know this may be a tad of a necropost, but I thought it would be prudent to note that I am interested in the project. For a while I had been intimidated by the sheer number of people auditioning for Coyote and Smitty, but now that things seem to be working out and I have more free time...I think it's time to dip my toe in the VA pool.

No worries! I'm actually just coming to the end of my Month of Being Otherwise Occupied and I'm going to be jumping back into the project myself, so the more the merrier.

My semester is winding to a close, now, with my first final coming up Friday. In the not too distant future, I'd like to start working more on this... my next semester won't be quite as busy. So, yeah, just tell me when you're ready for more lines from me.

I'm still around and I have free time. Just give me a nudge when I need to start getting my voice in shape and whatnot.
Question: Given the newest plot twist, does it mean that I am the default voice for adult Antimony? It's not important and might never come up, but that would be pretty cool.

I'm starting to be more free, so now I can start recording stuff again! Leela: If you are, will you use a British accent or an American accent? Just curious.

I saw someone running around on Team Fortress 2 the other day called Delicious Cake, but I don't know how to contact people I'm not Friends with so I couldn't check if it was the real one Given that TF and Portal are made by the same people, it's more likely a coincidence. Leela: I dunno! That's an interesting idea. 0.o You probably would have to Americanize (or Canadianize) somewhat if that ever came up, to match up with Starrylight's young Annie, but I'd be interested to see how that would work. Starrylight: I sent you an email with my latest round of notes. You're gonna hate me. x) I guess it's not too bad...progress is definitely being made!
