By the way, is Goatmon still here? Did he ever send in his auditions for the dog characters? Because I would very much like to voice 1 or all of them. You can audition for whatever characters are still open, regardless of whether or not someone else has already auditioned for that role. I certainly hope that all the parts will have more than just one submission! I'd love to see what peoples' renditions of Coyote sound like. He's awesome. If you look in the Vocal Auditions thread, there is a link to every audition submitted for every part so far... including something like 7 Coyote auditions (off the top of my head).

As a reminder: Skype meeting Sunday at 3 PM U.S. Eastern/8 PM GMT.
Showing up and saying hi confirms to me and others that you are still alive and, given enough participants, gives us a chance to quickly get on the same page for the project. =) Quite a lot of structural stuff is being worked out and we'd like to see who we've got.
If you haven't been to a Skype meeting before, drop me a PM and I'll make sure you can find us. Or we can find you. Whichever.

kfjasldf I'm working then. Can I just say 'I'm alive' anyway? If I can't make it, that is? Yep - you'll just miss whatever discussion happens. (And to be honest, if we don't have a few more people, especially technical-type people, than last week, there won't be much of a discussion. So you're running a pretty good chance of not missing anything at all!) And, embarrassing as this is, I'm not sure how present I'll be today either. I hope to drop in between 3 and 4 and see who's there, but due to real-life stuff that's come up, my attendance may be spotty.

I mentioned this to Miri in a PM, but so anyone else knows, I'm studying for my first Pre-Calculus exam which is tomorrow, so I won't be available today.

Darn, that's what I get for not being a regular on the forum. Casey has my e-mail! I'm alive and quite willing to practice/record lines, but I suppose that may be still be far in the future. Should I be visiting the forum more often for updates?

Should I be visiting the forum more often for updates? That'd be helpful. =) We're really not sure what's going on or how quickly things will move right now, but if you check in every day or two, you won't miss anything! So as far as I can tell, Sunday Skype meetings have kind of flopped. Not a big surprise, but we do need to keep communication open...I feel like we're in a really strange betweener period where no one's quite sure what's up. Ah, well. C'est la vie. Question for the group: Is anyone any good at cleaning up voice clips? I think we have some wonderful software around here that I have absolutely no clue how to use, so I'm going to try and get trained up on that, but until then if anyone else would like to volunteer...I understand that cleaning up the audio is one of the more time-consuming parts of putting the final product together, so if we have someone on deck for that, so much the better.

Hey guys,
In case you couldn't tell, from Miri's increased posts, she and I talked a while back about her becoming more involved in the management of the project, as I'm in school full time and my free time is minimal. Well, very recently, some other real-life complications have compounded my time issues, and I'm not going to be able to put time into the project anymore. So we thought it would be best to go ahead and give the operation over to Miri. Miri definitely has both the eagerness and the aptitude to lead the project, and I have full faith in her. I implore each of you to do the same.
In the next day or two, Miri is going to create a new Audition thread, which will contain all the information from the old Audition thread. This is so that it can continue to be edited and updated as new auditions are submitted. Once that thread is up, it would be best to lock or otherwise stop using the old Audition thread, so there's no confusion.
Outside of that, I'm letting Miri decide how everything is going to be handled from here on in. I've told her that I will be available for advice, but the Project is better served by her having the ability to make her own decisions on how things should be done, so I'm not going to be a "shadow director".
I don't know yet whether this will require me to relinquish the role of Eglamore. I'll be letting Miri know. It will probably depend on whether my lines will be needed before the summer semester ends. By September, I should have more free time than I do (though never again as much free time as I had when this started.)
Well, that's that. Miri has the password to the YouTube account, and I'll be sending her more information this weekend, so submissions for auditions and other stuff like that can start going to her, however she sees fit to organize that. It's been great fun, and it's a shame that we hadn't gotten more done before we all got busy with life, but I think if anyone can breathe new energy into the project, then it's Miri, and I look forward to seeing what comes of it.

Ah well I was waiting (lurking) for any sign that things were actually happening to make my "I'm alive!" post. So yeah, I am alive, living, totally, not a zombie, like, at all, comma.
But yeah, I've been working (very slowly) on some new auditions when I have the time. Who knows if I'll be done with that before I have to start working on my next set of lines, but yeah, I'm ready and willing for the next step of the plan. I'll be on Skype too.

Congratulations Miri, a better successor there could not be. I'll hopefully get to do an audition for Jack soon, to show that I'm still excited about the Project as much as because I actually want the role. Let's keep the show rolling, it'll be great to finish something.

Nikita: Awesome. Just awesome.
Haggidubious: It's awesome to have you aboard! I'll definitely be calling in any audio expertise you'd be able to volunteer - how are you at removing background noise and cleaning up sound clips? I desperately, desperately need someone to help me with that. If that's you, you are my new favorite person. (No pressure.)
Uly: Thanks so much. =D Get those new auditions in! Let's try and build up some momentum again!
P13volution: Great to see you again! It's good to be back.
And thanks of course to Casey for those kind words. He did an excellent job getting this thing rolling in the first place; I only hope I can continue half as well.
I'll be posting a new Vocal Production thread (I feel bad posting all these new threads, but I really need something I can edit!) with information and announcements and instructions and requests and such, but before I've got all that together, I'll post this here:
I need for all actors to please resubmit their lines from Chapter 1 to me. My email address is miri.gkcfp@yahoo.com, so you can just attach them and send them over. Keep in mind, though, that we need very very clean recordings. If Casey had mentioned rerecording to you before, I'll probably tell you the same thing. I'll be posting some easy ways to cut back on recording noise soon.

Miri, I'm horribly busy this week, but you'll have my lines as soon as I can manage it. Should be by the end of the week. Already have them recorded, just gotta dig them out.

Edzepp: Yes, please! I decided not to get any sound files from Casey, so I'm relying on everyone to send me those themselves. If you feel that you can record with better quality now than you did last year, by all means do so. Rasselas: That's fine, thanks so much! And thanks to Tom for stickying and locking things and helping us reorganize the forum.

Hello everyone, this is my first ever post on the discussion board. I just read through all of Gunnerkrigg Court in a matter of days and its instantly become a favorite. I'd be delighted to be a part of this fan project. I'm somewhat of a seasoned amatuer voice actor, I've done vocal work on the podcast dramas Geek By Night, Red Shirts and Buffy Between the Lines. I intend to audition for the roles of Smith, Alistair and maybe even Coyote, if those roles are still open. I'm pretty good at doing little voices so i could play whomever
However, I record on Audacity; is there a way to upload audacity files to Youtube or would it be easier if I just emailed my audition files to someone?
thanks so much

Hi, Youngwords09! Glad to have you here. I think most of us record in Audacity; what I've always done is saved those recordings as Mp3 or WAV or what have you and paired them up with either panels from the comic or a black screen in Windows Movie Maker, so that you have a video file you can upload to YouTube. Here's the Vocal Auditions thread for your perusal. All of the parts you mentioned are indeed still open - audition away! I'm still waiting on lines from our returning actors. I know everyone's busy (I know I am), but the project is effectively on hold until I have files to work with. Also, if I can't get in touch with DeliciousCake, we might be looking at recasting Annie. I'd infinitely prefer that not to be the case, but we can't very well move ahead until we have a main character again.

It is possible for me to send the files that the actors originally sent me, but since some of them have been sorted and processed, and some have not, I feared that I would be putting Miri through a logistical nightmare trying to nail down which of the many files need to have what done to them. She and I both thought it would be better to start fresh. I'm explaining this just in case anyone was wondering why Miri isn't using the files you guys originally sent to me.

I just lost interest for a little while since I wasn't really involved in any of the chapters currently getting worked on. I would definitely like to get more involved, although it's hard to stay focused if there's no tangible deadline. Deadlines make my life easier.

Any deadlines I give at this point would be strictly arbitrary and result in an awkward hurry-up-and-wait situation, I'm afraid. On new auditions, there's really no rush.
On getting Ch. 1 - 4 lines to me, however, there is a rush. Please, I cannot stress this enough. There is nothing I can do until I have those files. And thanks, Casey, for clarifying that. Having the actors send me their lines themselves serves another purpose, too: it lets me know they're still here and reading.

Ah, Sorry everyone. i'm still alive, and still interested in this project. I've since started back to college, and that has demanded a metric buttload of my time and attention. BUT, I am still available for William, Reynard, and Robot (S13)... And... Any other voices I may have had, that I can't recall at the moment. I'm downloading Audacity now. I'll have Robot's lines for chapter 1 done probably within the hour.
