Jones: She doesn't give a shit about your dock or your rope.

Let me summarise what everyone is thinking right now: Everything in her actions screams "robot". But assuming Reynardine knew what he was talking about and wasn't just making assumptions himself, what the hell is she then? ;D

Wait, so how'd she get over the wall in the first place?

Wait, so how'd she get over the wall in the first place? Well, I'd say they most likely originally took off with that boat from a different place. It is unlikely that a group of grownups entered the boat over a pier that is so unstable a child has concerns about using.

More evidence for Jones as an alchemical construct as opposed to a normal human. There is implication that she doesn't actually have to breathe.

Although even a marble golem would be careful about chipping themselves using their hand as a wrecking ball.

I went to Wikipedia to find the right name for the creature I was thinking of, but either I used the wrong searchterms or I was misremembering it.
We have seen that Jones has a back, but she might be hiding a cow tail under that skirt. This may account for her crazyawesome strength (and weight?).

All the people who noticed that she'd sunk farther into Parley's bed back in Jupiter Moon Martians obviously were on the right track.

Jones' actions in today's strip have me both astounded and bemused.
I also can't believe that I failed to notice that Jones didn't use the dock (or the rope, come to think of it) because she was concerned about breaking it.

Jones is some kind of Ghost in the Shell-type cyborg, perhaps. Thus, not a robot, and it would explain a lot of things.

Well. I guess that confirms the "Jones is really really heavy" thing. Or at least that she's much denser than water.
I still think "robot" is too obvious, though. No mere robot could deflect an Eglamorian sword thrust without even getting scratched, or slide its robo-hand through a concrete wall like it was made of whipped cream. Something more bizarre awesome must be behind this.
Also...why did she smash the wall, anyway? Surely there's some less destructive way to the other side. Maybe there's...a secret emergency button in there, or something?

Scandinavian troll? Huldra. I was thinking about a troll as well. But I dismissed because of the image I have of trolls.

If she's not a robot, then she must be a golem, or something like it: some kind of magically animated metal.
Although, I doubt Tom will actually use the term golem, since it is of jewish origin, and Jones does not fit that folklore.

With Jones being so forthright about everything that Annie has asked thus far, I tend to wonder what her response would be to Annie simply asking "What are you?"

Did we ever actually rule out "gynoid'? I know it's close to "robot", but maybe Rey was playing semantics games?
...nah. I guess only Tom will tell.

Kudos to whomever mentioned that Jones is incredibly dense. I think we have to credit Mudmainiac with the first posted observation. Honorable mention goes to Popo and my humble self for backing him up in that thread and supporting the theory elsewhere.

The Gunnerkrigg staff must spend a lot of time patching up walls after Jones. Maybe someone would offer to build some passageways, if they were brave enough to broach the topic with her.
Jones is made of neutron star material, obviously.

Scandinavian troll? Huldra. Oh, so I was spelling it wrong. Thanks! In his short story 'Monarch of the Glen' Neil Gaiman spells it 'hulder', but it's all the same. I don't think that's what she is though. It would be interesting if she was a golem of sorts. Maybe she's a metal golem rather than the traditional earth or clay. I don't mean a robot, I mean solid metal. That would be pretty crazy.
