I don't mean to gloat at all, but anyone reading the past comments on the page might have noticed that I totally called this.

Man, poor George....she's totally embarrassed....watch, this is gonna get dragged on now cause she's going to be SO embarrassed she refuses to talk to Smitty...causing the rest of us to go NUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRGH and pop a few blood vessels as we must wait for her to get over it.
But the teleporting thing is sexy....seriously...like if you guys watched Wolverine Origins, you know how Deadpool was fighting at the end with the swords and teleporting? THAT'S HOW I IMAGINE PARLEY FIGHTING NOW! I DEMAND SOMEBODY ANIMATE HER DOING SOME SWORD FIGHTING ACTION SCENE TELEPORTING ALL CRAZY!

Oh the look of realization on Annie's face in panel three, priceless! We can only hope Annie is quick-minded enough to forbid Rey to blather about this incident, or Parley will never live that one down. ;D It strikes me that Jones has sunk into that bed rather deep. like she wuz made of metal or somethin. I think that's only a minor slip on the artist's part. If you leave the length of Jones' skirt out of consideration and just compare the height of the characters, you'll find they're still the same as compared to the previous page (Annie being the smallest, Jones and Smitty about the same, and Parley the tallest). Which would mean they've all sunk in for the same amount.

I've just said it in the comments and I'll say it here: that flower makes it possible to imagine Reynardine speaking with a female voice in the fourth panel. Specifically, with the voice of some kind of witch or something like that, what with the wrinkle-like face seams and the pointed teeth.
Also, that poster is for Metroid II for Game Boy. George is old school.

haha, so what was ms. parley thinking about that would cause teleportation not to just her room, but her bed? 'i want to have your babies, right now!' or something?

This page is hilarious! I adore it. I certainly didn't realise all of this flower match-maker nonsense was an attempt by Jones to awaken Parley's power... I thought she was just being a romantic.
Of course I feel like I should have guessed now, we already know Jones plays with emotions to help her find out about people (like when she tried to get Annie angry)

I *am* afraid that this'll turn into a sitcom-level awkward relationship. We'd be seeing Parley and Smith bounce off of eachother over and over in every new season chapter.

Oh... dear... Reynardine, do everyone a favor and shut up. I think she's embarassed enough already. It's hardly fair to tease someone about what their mind does unconsciously.
Not to mention that it's very unwise to tease someone who can teleport, especially if you can't do so yourself.

So now we know that Parley isn't the Gunnerkrigg equivalent of a Squib.

Also, that poster is for Metroid II for Game Boy. George is old school. *Warning, nerdary ahoy* Identical to the North American cover art, no less. I wonder if she just found a picture and printed it off or if it was some sort of promotional material she got when the game came out. Also, she's not necessarily that old school; Samus didn't have the ponytail haircut until Metroid Fusion.

But i see Smit and Parley Parley's feet. Agreed. You have to backtrack a couple pages to see but Jones' skirt comes to just below the knee. 84 also has a point, though, I think the height of the characters relative to each other is off. By the way if I were Smitty I'd cough up a fast excuse, mumble something to Parley about us talking about it later, and escape (via the window if need be). Who cares what floor it is? Looks like a huge Parley blow-up is coming, maybe one with words that can't be taken back. Possibly lucky for Smitty, Reynard is unintentionally offering himself as a lightning-rod.

Honestly, I think the only thing to do in this situation is go back to where they were and what they were doing and make no more mention of this incident, aside from acknowledging Parley's ability and training her with it. And by "make no more mention of this incident" I mean making Reynardine shut up before Parley teleports him into a volcano.

If Jones is correct, and Parley got an assist from Smitty, then, well, talk about a power couple. Perhaps she can teleport randomly, and his ability to bring order makes it so they end up in the correct place. Either ability isn't all that useful by itself, but together...

Of course I feel like I should have guessed now, we already know Jones plays with emotions to help her find out about people (like when she tried to get Annie angry) Oh. Oh! Of course! Oh this is a headsmack moment for me, why the hell didn't I see that? I am clearly hella not active enough here or at TV Tropes any more if my powers of prediction are that shot to hell. And of course if Jones set that up on purpose just to see if it would be the thing that triggered Parley's ability, then it stands to reason that doing it in front of Annie was also deliberate. Hence the unnecessarily embarrassing explanation. Which means Jones and Annie will soon be having a private discussion about why Annie was brought along to witness it (and Parley and Smitty will probably be having private smooches - ewww!).

I wonder if Parley is turning in to a beet because she's embarrassed, or if it's because she's angry? Perhaps a combination of the two...

Maybe all the blood in her body ended up in her head as a byproduct of teleportation and she's about to go all Scanners on us. ;D

If this is the room in her house, what are her parents going to say? She just teleported her teacher, 2 students, and a talking dog into her room.

Didn't Tom once say that Parley probably had a poster of Samus somewhere in her room, or was that someone else? And can never remember such details.
