That's interesting. Winsbury is awesome as always, though I suspect he'll get some retaliation on the next page. As this chapter is to be about Kat, I wonder how she will react to the boy. Love, hate, or both? She seems interested, anyhow. And also, who the hell is he? Speculation may begin.
Also, absolutely astonishing alliteration there, Tom.

"Get a haircut"? Oh, that's original. *dope-slaps Winsbury* But a new character... I second the question - who the hell is he? No uniform - is he really a student? I can't tell yet if Kat is interested or just naturally curious. She is pretty outgoing after all. Edit: I can't decide who the new kid looks more like: young Eglamore or young Anthony: www.gunnerkrigg.com/art/gunnerwall31024.jpg

The octagram in the first frame is a symbol I don't think has been used yet. Could just be ornamental. In case it is meant to be significant, does anyone know what its meaning is? I think it has something to do with harmony.

I think this one is going to be trouble, somehow. Maybe Reynardine can project illusions of interesting scottish guys and wants to jerk Kat around? Or maybe it turns out that he's the son of TVNM? I dunno, but I don't trust this guy.
Also, Winsbury isn't being very nice, but I gotta say that I don't like that haircut either. There's just something . . . evil about it.

I'd certainly like to know why he dared show up in class out of uniform. (Though there's something about the way that he acts that suggests "slacker" about it.)
And I see that Winsbury's still as keen on taunting the new kid as he was when Annie was the new kid.
(Side-note: the blonde girl staring at the new kid in Panel 1 looks like the one that we briefly glimpsed near the start of the Dr. Disaster story. They're probably the same person, though I don't know if she'll ever become important enough to get her own name.)

im thinkin kat thinks hes cute or something~ though personally i think things are more likely to develop with antimony than kat suddenly falling for a newcomer. but who knows, maybe the new kid watches alot of X-Files~

Hands up, all those who feel that the new kid will be connected, romantically or otherwise, with Kat in future.

I couldn't even tell that was a boy until Kat called him one. And no one besides Winsbury thought to inform him about the whole uniform thing? Seems like someone friendly would notice at one point. I'm glad my school doesn't do uniforms... Though I've been to one that did. It's such a good idea to have thin, uncomfortable pants as a part of the uniform during the freezing winter.

Anthony, the eyes have it New-Kid's eyes are more rounded than Eglamore's in the school pic. I think New-Kid's kinda cute, though. Not evil (and how can hair be evil??)

Whats with all the "new kid is evil!" stuff going on? Seriously, when is anyone in this comic ever evil? Reynardine is pretty much the worst, and he's at least likable. Zimmy and Gamma, who were set up to be rivals or enemies, are good kids, under it all. I can't predict what will be done with this boy (I think he looks like an indie cutie), but I doubt he will be evil.

he's just too normal looking to not be evil. also, im wondering why nobody noticed him till now; usually its pretty easy to notice someone standing out like that when they walk into the classroom ;p
also, Kat's a babe.

Didn't one of the Sailor Scouts (Sailor Uranus or Neptune?) have all the others in a lather until they realised 'he' was a girl? (and gay incidently). Just a thought since the new boy is sort of androgynous.
