I didn't exactly "just notice" this, but I was reading a post where our real friend imaginaryfriend linked this page for the scene at the bottom (it isn't divided into panels exactly). Once again I noticed that the man and woman were clearly Loup imagining himself in those roles. I hadn't really thought deeply about it because I knew Loup was off his head and Annie wasn't having any, but this time I was super squicked out by the idea that Loup was hitting on Annie in a very unsubtle and obnoxious way. Not to mention that he doesn't even imply but says straight out that he is prepared to satisfy her (ahem) desire for company of a non-man, non-woman, presumably non-humanoid sort. I am going to have to go peel my eyebrows off the attic insulation now. Bit late on replying to this, I feel a bit obligated to point out that "non-man, non-woman" does not necessarily equal "non-humanoid." Both gender and biological sex are actually pretty wildly diverse among us humanoids! So like, while Loup's come-on is obviously still gross, it's probably not gross in that particular way you're probably thinking of. Your poor, exhausted, eyebrows will thank me, I'm sure. Get your haughty correction off my post. I do not need to be taught about nonbinary sexuality. I was talking about what Loup meant. But I guess if you have a hammer everything looks like a nail.

Oh, crap, sorry too, we are definitely on the same side and should be allies anyway, shouldn't we? I am letting current events get to me a bit, I think. Oh look it's getting to be the weekend! That will help. I hope you have a great one

Interesting thing I realised while reading TV Tropes (that counts too, right?):
Various pages in which the reader is induced to ask, "Why did Zimmy DO that", when the truth, also subtly implied on various pages, is that Zimmy is a child and probably not aware she was doing it. Case in point: Jack's spider infection.

Another.I've sort of been taking this for granted all along, but Renard is identifying himself with the pigeon - the Court pretend they fear him and don't want him around, but all of their actions have been a deliberate attempt to keep him from leaving, and in truth he does not want to leave because what he finds there is something that humans give that meets a need he could not easily meet in any other way (his relationship with Annie and with her friends). Notice how central the pigeon's eye is in the drawing. Might Renard have body-surfed as a pigeon in the dark past when he first got his powers from Coyote?

Well, yes. Zimmy has always hated the Tic-Tocs because she feels like they constantly watch her. In Renard's case, though, it's the pigeon, not the Tic-Toc.

Because if Zimmy drew a Tic-Toc, it would watch her too.

I only just now noticed Tom makes a Star Trek: TNG reference in his comment under page 1687.

The most recent page has made the exact location of Jones' office suddenly relevant. This page came up in the forum discussions today. But looking at it made remember a question I've always had: What exactly is Annie doing in panel four? What is making that "shff" sound effect? She's touching her hair, but her hair seems more or less unchanged in the panels and pages afterwards.

This is the Court, Tony. They can make you shoe socks. They have the technology. I used to have a pair of shoe socks that were also gray (except for the treads) so I legit had to look at that page several times before I decided that yes, he is indeed shoeless. Mostly unrelated: I traded up for some gray suede Docs (the kind with the drawstring) more than ten years ago and they just refuse to wear out. This page came up in the forum discussions today. The headlights on this car are green, and look awfully like Court robot eyes. Could it be that the car itself is a robot? Although in that case, I'm not sure why the robot chauffeur is needed. He's already in the driver's seat, not holding the door for the girls or anything.

She's touching her hair, but her hair seems more or less unchanged in the panels and pages afterwards. Two theories. Both could be true together. (1) I think Tom's art has suggested a few times (it's clearer in newer pages than the early ones) that when Annie is stressed out her hair gets messy. So here she's straightening it, perhaps as a symptom of her trying to control her anxiety. Or maybe a reflection of her uneasiness around Eglamore. (2) A way Tom was being really obvious that Annie's hair clip is missing but we hadn't noticed yet

In Chapter 77, when Kat's Tic-toc gets stuck around Zimmy, she says she's going to "try something", and then ends up finding her parents as kids. Watching this again in the retrospective video just made me realize that what she's trying isn't some sort of complex technological trick...she's just trying to avoid running into Zimmy again, by traveling to a time before Zimmy was even born!
Also, I just noticed that Skuld specifically modified Kat's controller, rather than, say, making a new one...and as far as we know, Kat still has that controller!!! I wonder if she ever studied that, or will decide to study that, in order to unlock the secrets of time travel for herself...

...but I also didn't make a account when I first started reading either Neither did I! I had been reading GC and lurked on the forums for a very long time before I registered for an account. It was a very long summer at my first office job, and I had lots of time to kill while avoiding the responsibilities of my actual work. But it felt creepy, because I had been familiar with many of you before I ever interacted on the forum. You never know who's silently reading.

On reread I noticed that: 1) The thread is getting really sidetracked. 2) Last time we saw Zimmy, at the end of chapter 82, she's distressed. It seems to be played for laughs. Sure, could be just one of Zimmy's fits while Gamma sleeps... Or could be something else. Before that, the last time Zimmy and Gamma appeared was in chapter 79, here. They where worried about the "machine" the Court built, knew it was somehow connected to them, and were specifically concerned the Court would separate them. And between chapters 79 and 82 the Court gets in quite a few antics, including a name drop that might very well indicate the completion/activation of said "machine". So I have to wonder, where is Gamma right now?

This is a quibble, granted, and does not address the larger question of Gamma's current whereabouts due to the passage of time and events since then.

Having just reread a huge part of the archive (and I think it was barely from somewhere around chapter 60 and it still felt like sooo much)... I can only say this goshdarned webcomic is still my favorite in the whole wide internet. Consistent story, good jokes, great characters, always improving art,...
That is all.
