Um no sir, that was a jab. Hence the word "jab" under it.

You'll have to excuse us Americans on the thoughts of possible homosexuality on this page guys. In America, the word babe is used primarily for describing a hot woman with whom we would like to have sex. I know that's not true for you fellows in the UK, so forgive us of our ignorance. Fellow Americans, it's like calling someone your main man, your, dare I say, bro. It's a friendly term of endearment.

...the rules are different for women. I don't think this is a UK/American distinction.

Two folks can simply be friends, and that is that.

Unfortunately, the site that hosted the story is waaaaaay out of the polite/SFW guidelines, so I can't tell you where to find it

Maybe all the "guys" in -your- town are like that, but, wow, that was quite the sweeping generalization you made there.

Maybe all the "guys" in -your- town are like that, but, wow, that was quite the sweeping generalization you made there. My apologies. I described the use of "babe" poorly as well as generalizing. People I know use the word babe for a)their girlfriend or b)the girl they would like to be with. I know that southern Wisconsin is not the entire US of A, but from what I know of places I've visited, that is a common use of the word. I should have described the word better, as I'm sure it wouldn't have seemed so offensive. And rather than generalize America I should have listed "everyone I've met" as the people who use "babe" that way. Again, my apologies Casey, it won't happen again.
