If she's got Eglamore's beacon, she can just snap that and he'll be there. Most likely through the use of single-bounding. Or maybe he'll ride in on a laser cow!

Jack has to stay in the story. The way things are going it seems like one day he'll be one of the strongest voices against the Forest. Most of the kids their age simply have a distaste for anything related to Chester house. Jack, however, has firsthand experience of something both etheric and horrifying- being lost in Zimmy's dimensional prison by himself. That alone tells me that once he can make a connection between Zimmy and Gillitie Wood, he's going to organize a resistance of some kind. Does there need to be a voice against the forest? I thought Jones made it fairly clear that neither side has any kind of a moral high ground, they've both antagonized each other over the past who-knows-how-long. Also, what connection is there to make between Zimmy and Gillitie Wood?

The casual reconnaissance leak is a classic maneuver to check for large wolf presence, let me tell you.

Jack seems to be all alone, maybe Efron Jr. and the rest of his friends left him after he started to weird them out to much. I bet before the chapters end Eglamore is going to be keeping a very close eye on that boy.

Camping among laser cows would be scary if the cows are among the tents at night. Imagine waking to go the toilets in the middle of the night, and just as you are about to exit your tent a cow's lasers go off in front of you. Or just walking at night with those glowing red eyes everywhere. Just a thought - will it discourage those two who Most Definitely Did Not Anything behind that tree? And in this context... I just had the thought that maybe the laser cows are among the tents like that for the student's protection..... At least it's hard to lose a way when they can just ask any cow where their tents are, and not only it can point a camp's direction but it's in a network with the cow who saw them leaving this tent. and please stop trying to trope-ize everything for God's sake. But i don't do it for God's sake, i do it for Kermit's sake. Therefore, no need to worry. Hmm... If Annie ever need Rey's help, how fast can Rey arrive after being summoned through the Blinker stone? Remember, guy cornered her only because he wanted to see Zimmy, or something like. Now they all are in one place, so he got a perfect opportunity to be creeped out first-hand if he still thinks he need it. After all, girls need to have some fun too, and there's no plenty of spiders... The way things are going it seems like one day he'll be one of the strongest voices against the Forest. Most of the kids their age simply have a distaste for anything related to Chester house. Jack, however, has firsthand experience of something both etheric and horrifying On the other hand, his worst nightmare (barring Rey) was a cityscape. Also, the fact he managed to get there at all may indicate he has some unusual abilities too. Or maybe he'll ride in on a laser cow! That's unlikely, but maaybe some student is going to try a rodeo.

Why does everybody think Annie needs protection from Jack? The girl can take care of herself. She wouldn't need to call Rey or Eglamore. She though winsbury on the ground by his writs, and pinned Zetta just as easily.

Jack is probably about 12 or 13 years old...why does he have gray hair?

She's Jones incarnate, let me tell ya! Okay, what? I was thinking of doing a Doctor Disaster cosplay (in ten or so months maybe) and then you throw this at me. Blonde vs Bald. Pink Scarf vs Skull Bowtie. Blank/Little Expression vs SPACEMONAUTS! Ehh. I'll have to get back to you on this one.

But I'd LIKE to.
Besides which, I require money and a blonde wig.
So now I've got, what, four cosplays lined up, and half of those are GC characters. Yay!

So, random thoughts. We've had a lot of debate about whether Evil Birmingham turned Jack evil too, or whether it just disturbed him.
I generally think "disturbed" is more likely, but another question is: how do we know he wasn't evil to begin with? I mean, we don't know anything about the guy. He seemed friendly enough (albeit willing to pull a prank resulting in everyone being out in the rain), but we honestly didn't know him that well /before/ he got pulled into a nightmarish hellscape.

Well, I live in Indonesia, so it's a short hop by JetStar/ValueAir/AirAsia to Sing Yay for visa-free travel As to your indecision, maybe... Jones in a Spacemonaut suit? ;D Thinking of which... I can cosplay Dr Disaster across your Jones... Lab Coat... check Bow Tie... check Spectacles... check Bald Pate... um, let's assume I'm a younger, MUCH younger Dr Disaster .

No, he's wearing a hoodie, and they usually have a very large pocket in the front specifically for your hands to go in. That's why he's holding his arms like that. He could just be standing there to admire the view, or looking at his off-panel tent.

Is he acting evil though? Maybe a bit high-strung, but he hasn't really done anything threatening. I think Renard totally overreacted in the hall back there.

He was being pretty pushy. We know that Annie could probably have taken care of herself, but we also know that Rey's protective of her and wasn't going to stand for that kind of behaviour. Yin: Who are the other two characters? I tried Hohenheim once, but because I actually had a ponytail and a beard at the time nobody realised I was cosplaying

I'd say disturbed enough to be serious about getting straight answers, if only to finally get peace of mind. Serious enough that he might be somewhat threatening if that's what it takes to get them.
We do know one thing about Jack: He wasn't afraid of the rules against going out of the dorms after hours. He was so unafraid that he did that on a regular basis.
That tells you something about how he's going to consider the rules of conduct and engagement as far as this. "Bugger all if I don't get my damn answers." So while not outright evil, he's probably going to be very persistent, possibly to the point of pushing people too far. But it's not going to be out of some inherent nastiness. It's going to be more about "I want to be able to sleep in peace again. I want to know what the hell that was about. I just want to KNOW."
It's kind of like the skeptic who just saw a UFO. Now they're thrown into this world that maybe they didn't take too seriously beforehand, and are trying to make sense of it all when everybody else knows about as much as they do.

Aha, a gal I've been wanting to ask some questions to a member of the fairer sex regarding that incident, forgot all about it, and just remembered now that you brought it up. 1. As a girl, what would you be feeling if a guy, with rather threatening face, corners you alone hell-bent on getting answers his way? 2. And what would you feel about Rey if you're in Annie's place when Rey did his ANGRY!Rey act? Would you feel Rey to be overreacting, or not, or other feelings? All female members of the Forum are welcome to put in their 2 cents. Now I am not being sexist or condescending here, but I am a male, and most -- if not all -- members who discussed this incidents are also male. And no male can perfectly emulate a female's feeling. Personally, I think Rey did not overreact. A strong reaction, yes, but not yet overreact level. After all, he just put on his ANGRY!Rey facade there. He did not growl (at least, no GRR sound-effect there). And neither did he nip/bite/lunge/neck-grab at Jack.

I don't think Rey overreacted. There really is no telling what state of mind Jack was in, and in a situation like that you don't have time to psychoanalyze somebody you hardly know. And as a girl, Antimony or someone else, I would feel threatened enough to be glad for the demon-wolf behind him. Probably more so than Annie, as it's been proven she can put people threatening her out on their asses if they cross a line with her. (Throwing Winsbury, wrestling Zimmy, scaring the hecklers by telling Rey to go after them without directly ordering him to...you get the idea.) I don't have much fight in me at all except maybe yelling and cussing.
I'm in pretty much agreement that he had pretty good self-control at the time: he only put on an angry form to scare Jack off. He didn't go running after him like he did the hecklers yelling at Annie and Kat earlier. He didn't take a swipe at Jack, either. He just stood there looking threatening.
I think what some people forget is that Reynardine can be pretty sharp. Maybe his crass toy-form is just a means of disguising that, or letting his inner mischief-maker out.
Remember he was clever enough to play a mind-game on Annie in Sivo's form while escaping Eglamore. He's also been clever enough to realize Annie was using her blinker stone to spy on him, and to remind her that doing so wasn't always a good idea. There are other incidents, but it proves the point - he's not just an animal with animalistic reactions. If he were, he'd probably have lunged at Jack.

I don't remember if I've chimed in on this or not.
I think that Rey absolutely did not overreact. When I see Rey, I see that he thinks of himself almost a father figure to Annie. From that point of view, when he sees his little girl being threatened, he will do anything in his power to protect her, in this case giving Jack a sudden need to seek a change of trousers.
Now, Rey is not here physically, although Eggers is, who amusingly enough has a similar disposition.
Either way, I'm pleasantly surprised with this reunion, I didn't think we'd see dear Jack again until at least another chapter ;p
