I think Tom's art has been getting better and better with each subtle detail. I usually don't notice the changes until I look back at earlier pages. Tom's art has approached a level I can only dream of approaching.
(PS: Are man and adam the same person? The names are related... Maybe I'm just being paranoid. Or is it old news?)

I don't think it would be accurate to say the changes are anything to do with Tom's artwork maturing, we can see from his DeviantArt pictures that he is perfectly capable of drawing in a more detailed way tham he does in this comic. I think the changes over time must be a deliberate thing, rather than a 'Questionable Content'-esque situation where the art changes because he is learning to draw as he goes.
At any rate I find Gunnerkrigg Court beautiful from page one right through to now and I am sure I will continue to do so.

Maybe after all the practice from the comic he decided that he could draw the detailed style fast enough to use it in the comic?

Mishmash you make a decent point and I was aware of the deviantart account as well, but, hasn't Tom said that he wished he could go back and redraw the first chapters because he didn't like the artwork?

Also Digital Hills. Some kind of blog, by the looks of it, not used very often.

I think it was somewhere around the middle of chapter 3 that I realized the artwork wasn't good...it was AMAZING. The environments, especially -- the characters have improved a lot, but Tom's depictions of the court have always been superb.
