Maybe Jack is going to ask Annie about her discoveries at the school. He's already been exploring at night, and the experience at the power station has only piqued his interest. He figures that Annie ought to have found out some things, or he just gleaned that she was more knowledgeable than the others in that respect, and maybe wants to show her some secret that he has discovered. Maybe he figures a medium in training would be able to make more sense of it than he would. I'm willing to wager that whatever it is he may have found is a clue as to what the dogwoods from chapter 22 were.

No one thinks he might just explode into incoherent rage and/or creepiness? I get a kind of Two-Face vibe from him. He was young and handsome and then they did this to him. This thing.

He definitely has something in mind since he's staying behind from his friends and going out of his way to talk to Annie. Also, just look at that face in the 2nd to last panel. That does not look like an innocent face at all, plus the eyebrows guys! The Eyebrows! And there's definitely Rey hideage from Annie, although what's motivating that is up in the air right now. I'm thinking that Kat's cold reception on this page is symbolic of Jack changing after the incident. If he was set up as a love interest for Kat at the start of power station, I think that panel implies that he wasn't at the end.

I think that panel implies he had some obvious other things preoccupying him at the time... like a trip through a living nightmare.

Kat's cold reception on that page has a great deal more to do with Jack's appearance on the previous page than with any prospect of a future love interest.

Hmm I just noticed this. Jones can't use a blinker stone. That seems like good evidence against her being etheric, or in tune with etheric beings (not a medium).
