Vocal Roles Per Chapter Breakdown

This is a document I've been working on that shows each chapter and ALL the roles in that chapter. This is different from the Casting Sheet in that that document only shows which roles are introduced in that chapter. If you have obtained a role, you can refer to this list to see which chapters you will need to be prepared to work in.

An additional advantage of this breakdown is it shows us if there are any chapters we can do early because all of that chapter's roles are already cast. For example, I learned that Chapter 9 can be recorded as soon as Chapter 4 is done, because all the parts in Ch. 9 will have been chosen by then.

So far I have only gotten through Year One. I will do Chs. 15-22 another time, because my eyes hurt from flipping through every single page of the comic for fourteen chapters.

Key: an asterisk (*) indicates a part that is introduced in that chapter. a double tilde (~~) indicates a part that (for as far as we know) will only appear in the chapter in which it is found.

Question!

The version of Reynardine in chapter 3 is very unlikely to be used again, so will the person who plays him in that chapter be required to play all versions?

If someone happens to do the Sivo-voice better, but doesn't feel up to the task of the other variations, will they still be eligible? I got the range to pull it off, but I can't speak for everyone else, so maybe that should be cleared up?

Word of Tom is that Reynardine has one voice. If you'll notice on this page, Annie knows that her doll suddenly becoming animated is Reynardine. The only way she would know that, would be because she recognized his voice.

Assuming Tom thought of that when writing that page. Everybody makes mistakes. Unless this exactly thing has been covered in one of the "questions to Tom"??

Not quite. Word of Tom is that he will always sound like Reynardine. The full quote is:

This means that we will need to have a different person doing Sivo's voice. The plushie- and wolf-form Reys will have the same voice as it is technically the same body (up for discussion: is it the same body if it looks different?), but will sound more dignified in wolf-form.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have one person voice him, and have them attempt to impersonate the voice of who/whatever he happens to be possessing?

It could work. Then at least the voices would always sound somewhat familiar to each other, even if only slightly. I like it.

If you guys want to read back in the Vocal Audition Thread, we covered this topic before, and we decided (based on the Word of Tom) to have one Reynardine who changes his voice depending on which character he is voicing.

I had originally put Sivo as a separate character, using the exact same logic that has been presented here. But I recanted in favor of the Word of Tom, and I now agree that it makes more sense that way anyhow.

Additionally, since we already have a number of auditions for Reynardine, I'm not sure it would be entirely fair to those who already submitted an audition if we changed things mid-stream. That's the reason why I had addressed this question early on.

The document in the first post is one that changes with time. I have updated the document, adding a few more chapters, but also adding the names of the cast members who have been chosen thus far for a role. This way we can see at a glance not only what characters will be needed for a given chapter, but also which actors.

I will continue to update it as more actors are chosen, and will eventually have the character list complete for all chapters.
