Ohhh, she IS clever...
Distract Doorbot with shiny objects and let Reynardine walk right beneath his legs, perhaps?
Love her smile in panel 6. That smile alone ought to fry Doorbot's circuits!

I think the idea is just to claim her robotness. Theb again, she did say that she wanted her lockpicks. Love the disguise, though.
ps- yay for forgettting that it was an update night.

She looks crazy adorable. Why didn't any of us think of Reynardine for her 'help'?
Because Tom outwits us every time!

The fact that she looks so smugly satisfied with that silly thing on...

It's not gonna work, the disguise isn't quite complete! You see, robots don't smile. They'll figure her out in no time....

I was surprised by just how minimalist Annie's robot disguise turned out to be. I'd expected it to be one of two things:
1. Dressing up in a lot of boxes and cartons made-up to look like robot parts (or, alternately, finding some more spare robot parts that were big enough for Annie to wear), or:
2. Having Mort be the help, and having him project some sort of "robot illusion" around her to make her look like one of those robots.
But this is a lot more fun, simply because it's so unexpected and audacious. Now to see if the door-bot gets suspicious over the fact that this "new robot" looks a lot more human than all the other robots that we've seen around Gunnerkrigg Court to date.
Oh, and I definitely wasn't expecting Reynardine to take part in the expedition, either - that was an entertaining surprise as well.

"What's that on your head?" "Why, it's my antennae, of course. Now let me in." *pokes Annie suspiciously* "You're all soft-like. What happened to the metal?" "It's a disguise. So the humans won't detect me." "What about the doll, then?" "It's part of my disguise." "You look like one of those humans come by earlier." "Well, I couldn't come up with a very original disguise." "Hmm. Well, come in then."

What is a 'dump'?

Perhaps it is meant in the "to take a dump" sense. Don't suppose being around robots that look identical to Robot, who tried to nab him, will set Rey on edge?

I don't think Reynardine was concerned about Robot so much as what was possessing robot- remember the double chat bubbles? And the 'nice old man'. The evil shadow, for that matter.

Dump, some thoughts: 1) A repository for junk. 2) A filthy, disgusting thing. 3) A steaming pile of excrement. ;D

It all makes sense now... ...Although, if Grumpy Doorbot falls for that, he ought to look into another line of work...

Annie's DEFINITELY going to tell Reynardine to take the robot.
...
and then she'll pen the antimony symbol on its forehead??

I have no idea what is going to happen involving Reynardine... I know that's kind of a useless comment, but, really, if her disguise works, why should she need his lockpicks?

Maybe she is aniticpating there being another door that she may have to pass to get to Robot's body.

Why would Robot's body be behind the door?

I must admit. That's a very sly headband she's got on, right there.

Why would Robot's body be behind the door? It is just a thory based upon the fact that everybody seems unwilling to mention Robot and a guess that they will have a different guard mechanism for wherever it is.

For some reason I always interpreted 'dump' to mean 'shorty', but I think maybe I'm just projecting my insecurities about being short onto reynardine. ;P
