I voted no, but then, I'm not located anywhere near San Diego.

Would if I could but I can't. Pity, I'd like to show support for Tom, so I'll do it in the best way I can - in an anonymous poll post on an internet forum. MARVEL in my acts of support!

I had to vote no, but that vote is based entirely on my personal lack of time and money. If there is another poll asking if Tom should go if he can I'd vote absolutely yes. Conventions are both fun and useful. Plus, in many cases you can write off your basic expenses on your taxes.

Another one under the lack of money/time column. Sigh.

For me, as well, it's lack of time and money. I don't live anywhere near there, and am also in school and working

For me it's the lack of being on the same continent.

Ditto. It would be cool but I'm not paying out for a cross-Atlantic flight just for ComicCon. Maybe if it was part of an actual holiday... but that's something to think about.

Slightly off-topic: A few years ago I went to one of the larger Renfairs in the USA and was shocked to discover that there were people from the UK who'd flown over just for the fair. I talked to some and they seemed to be saying that there weren't things like that in the UK. Is that still the case?
(edit) A Renfair is short for Renaissance Fair. It is a commercial festival loosely themed on anything/everything from the dark ages to the enlightenment. Historical accuracy is an afterthought at best. They vary in size but most book live entertainment and offer a wide variety of food/drink concessions and souvenirs. The main event is often a version of pro-wrestling with men on horseback in armor pretending to joust. Most areas are family-friendly but there are usually some beer garden areas or wine-tastings, and other places where live entertainment is offered that is not for kids. Does this sort of thing sound at all familiar to anyone from the UK? (/edit)

Yeah! I'm defenitely going! Will there be Gunnerkrigg Court books for sale there? Even if I'm not able to make it you should still be able to find the book there if you look for the Archaia booth.
