My questions from the old thread: - Did you design the entire website yourself? Does it use any content management system, like ComicPress?
- Do you have a schedule for drawing on the weekend? Like say, doing a page on Saturday and two on Sunday, or drawing one day and coloring the next?
1, Yeah, that's why it's not very functional. I use Comicaze to manage the automatic updating and archives. 2, I typically do one page on Saturday and two pages on Suday. On Saturday I can't start work until around 3:00 in the afternoon and I like to finish before the evening. On Sundays I get up at 6:00 in the morning and work until both pages are finished, usually between 4:00 and 7:00pm, with a break for lunch between pages.

Do you find that some of your best ideas come just as you're trying to get to sleep, which is annoying because then you have to get up to note them down?

No, usually it's the shower.

Haha, me too!
A question. The whole idea of Gunnerkrigg Court, did it crystallize over a longer period of time before you decided to make it into a comic, or did you just start drawing on a small-scale idea and things started coming to you?

I started making the comic fairly soon after getting the initial idea, and it developed from there. I still get new ideas for it all the time.

Tom, I just noticed that Book 1 comprised 294 strips. We're approaching 600. Is there a Book II in the works? *hint* *drool* *twitch*

Regarding Antimony's anger at Mort over the Blinker Stone in Ch. 21: on the face of it her reaction seems inexplicable, but when one is 13-ish such things are not unknown. Was it just a one-off, is-what-it-is overreaction? Or should I trust my suspicion that there is more to it than that?

This doesn't really have anything to do with Gunnerkrigg Court, but it's not "internet-hilarious" or anything, so I hope I can still ask it...
Are you the same person as "Tea-san" on the Something Awful Forums?

Hey Tom, do you like to cook? And if you do, what's your favorite meal to prepare?

For what it's worth, I'll buy the second book, too, if/when you decide to get it published.
For the robots in recent strips, you said hands imply rank. Are they a reward, or the cause of the promotion? Do the types of hands suggest different levels of authority?
Man, the robot society is cool business.

Ben Nah, it's just whoever is currently wearing a set of arms is the boss. The gloves/mits/etc are just there to cover up the ends, so whatever's laying around will usually do.

If book 2 comes out, I will totally buy it! Here's my question:
How far are we into your planned story arc? 1/3 of the way through? 1/2? About how many chapters have you planned for Gunnerkrigg court?
Also, reading your work schedule, I'm impressed by your work ethic. I can't even convince myself to look at grad schools by the time I get home from work.

Are we entirely sure we want to know the answer to that question? I can gauge the significance of events that happen in a TV show based on what time in the hour the events happen... I'm not sure that I would want to "spoil" GC by knowing how much more there is to go... that may just be me though...

Hey Tom, posting this here because its the only thread I KNOW you check, but unless my plans mysteriously fall through I plan on attending San Diego Comic Con. I'll be scurrying around with my friend all day long(probably dragged along, actually), but if you did end up going I'd definitely pay you a little visit.
Purely for the sake of adding legitimacy to my post, I will ask you a question that you have probably been asked before: What are some of your favorite authors/books?

Rgh. As an end-user, all I knew was that there was this beautiful book available, and I bought it. I had heard of no "debacle", and it took me quite a while of digging to find a reference to delays due to financial restructuring and buyouts and things. I assume that's what is being referred to.
Whatever the case, I stand in line with cash in hand to buy Volume II, if and when it is published. I know quite a few others who are standing in line as well (behind me, guys!)

Is there any way to reverse that suicide test in case the one who completed it changes their mind? (The answer to this question may cause speculation over a sudden disapearence of Red and/or a sudden appearence of Aly from Ch. 13) (Oh won't kat be thrilled if the latter happens ;D)

1. I seem to remember some time ago that you insisted on not using rulers for making Court architecture perfectly straight. Have you kept to that in your more recent chapters?
2. We haven't seen all that much of the Court's combat-machines that are chasing the Woodbeast yet, but they don't seem to be equipped with projectile weapons like guns. Is this an intentional design choice, perhaps to minimize the risk of collateral damage, Or do you just think it's neater and cooler to have them slug it out?

I can't even convince myself to look at grad schools by the time I get home from work. I don't know how long the whole story will be, and it's pretty flexible. I tend to work a few chapters ahead though, and the outline is more vague beyond that.
