Audition can handle pitch changes pretty well. My experiment wasn't a total failure, it can pass for a collapsed ceiling. . . . It's just that the impact sounds too fast, but Audition doesn't seem to be able to handle speed reduction without leaving big ugly artifacts. How do I show it to you? Should I just put it up on youtube?

Youtube is a bit overkill and doesn't have good sound quality unless you upload HQ material. (or force hq playback by appending &fmt=18 to the url) You can upload it here: senduit.com/ Everything you upload there will expire - but I can download it and put it on my webspace. (into a directory that isn't accessible unless you have a direct link, which will only appear here)

That sounds great. Out of interest, what did you mean when you said the initial crash was too fast? Did you mean in the sense of the whole clip or in the "Reynard hitting the roof in the first place" part of it?

It expired already, please set the expiration to a week or something

Did you mean in the sense of the whole clip or in the "Reynard hitting the roof in the first place" part of it? Mostly in the sense of Reynard hitting the roof in the first place, but yeah I think the whole thing should have been longer, but Audition has trouble slowing down low-pitched sounds. Here's a repost, this one set to expire in a week: senduit.com/42b46f

It might be a bit tedious (if it actually works at all), but could you try looping little bits of the crash to make it last longer?

Definitely something we can build upon. The beginning sounds a like a cannon though.

Less explodey at the beginning, longer crumbling at the end. Then it'll be good.

I really like that, Nikita. There's a very definite yet brief impact followed by a much longer period of the rubble landing and settling. It's exactly how I thought it should be.

Ah you make me feel like such an amateur. That is excellent!

Tic Toc. It may be a little too big-sounding though. Does anybody know where I can find some SFX of a bird clicking its tongue? Because that might be better. Oh, and if anyone wants to do the reverb better (Gverb is a really crummy reverb plugin, or maybe I'm doing it wrong) I can send you the multitrack in FLAC along with the original unedited clock sound.

That is one angry sounding TicToc. However, you did prompt me to have a go myself. I played about on Audacity and came up with this noise. Turns out there's a setting on Audacity for making ticking noises. It's a little raw, it could do with a slight echo or something.

I never thought to use the metronome like that! Ingenious. I'll try to reverb that in a manner that doesn't suck.

I would highly recommend this sound effect for 'generic outside court background ambience' www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=3996634 minutes of totally birdless, outdoor, live-recorded slightly industrial and musical sounding ambience. EDIT: 31 rather

Haha is there someone snoring at 22:38? I think we can use that. I also downloaded yours, Sir Pitchfork. I'm not sure where we can use this, but with all the robots and stuff, there will surely be an opportunity. Unfortunately, Houndbite doesn't seem to work. Can you re-upload those TicToc sounds?

If you all still need the sound of a sword going through concrete, I would be happy to create that

Keep the faith, friend. Progress is on the horizon.
How many of Chapter One's sound effects do you have so far? The vocal track is getting close to done, so I could be handing it over for sound-effect-ification within the next couple weeks if everything's set on your end.

For chapter one, we still need those, iirc *clicka* *clack* stuff like that - putting robot together *boop* activating robot *ding* robot awakes robot moving around - that should make some noise.. like a faint electro-mechanical sound.. i hope you know what I mean *hop* robot hopping off the desk - should probably sound a bit like *clank* too cloudy day - probably a bit windy near such a steep dark abyss *clank* metal on metal *clank* robot walking on the stone bridge *tic toc* *clank* robot walking in the forest forest noise again but near this time shadow family reunion noise(?) *click* closing door The most important one is probably the tic-toc sound.

I'll see if I can root out the TicToc noise I put on Houndbite, doesn't seem to be working now. Still needs a very slight echo on it though.
Edit: Found it, not sure where to store it though. Houndbite doesn't seem to be working any more. Any ideas?

I've now installed an upload-script on my webspace. PM me if you need a place to upload your files!(I'll not post that link publicly, simply because the risk of abuse is pretty high.) Ulysses: I've sent you a pm with the url.

Just checking in again - I've got most of the vocal track put together for the first chapter, and I'd like to know where we are on sound effects, particularly the ones for Robot's solo pages. If there's anything you guys need from me, please let me know.
