Hi everybody!
Sandjosieph i've been working on those bits you sent me, however in the meantime here's another attempt at some music. Youtube has borked the sound again, oh well...

Man. You're good.
...
What else can one say, really?

Man. You're good. ... What else can one say, really? You could throw in a few adjectives in front of good. I'd personally favour "exceptionally", "rather" or that old favorite "very".

Hey, Bonz, how exactly do you remaster the tracks? And could do your own take on the currently lullaby I have? Linky! If you send me a midi, I'll re-record it with pro soundfonts and, you know, standard post-productions stuff. Reverb, pan, that sort of thing. But maybe oboid would be better to ask for that XD His soundfonts sound better. I'll try to get something done with the lullaby if you like (if you don't like it, I won't be offended if it's not used =D ) Also I have an idea based on something I found on the Gunnerkrigg site. But it kind of depends on whether it's music written for Gunerkrigg or if it's... not. XD

If you're talking about the looping music in the flash file if you go to a nonexistent page, that's the music from the save screen of the videogame "Ico".

Ah, dammit. Yes, that was what I was talking about, and I had a nice piece in mind for it too.
Right. I'll see if I can get a start on an orchestral lullaby. Lyrics for it might be another interesting challenge =D

I just finished listening to Sunny Birmingham and rereading that part of the story, and man, does it fit well! Good job! Though, personally, I think there should be more random whispering/screaming in the background, but thats me. Still, all of you guys working on the music have created many, many delights for my ears to feast upon, and I am quite happy that you guys decided to help out with the music.

Well, I noticed this thread, I don't know if you still need musicians, but, some years ago, I composed soundsculpted a whole album of dark ambient/experimental/noise music soundsculptures; it's avalaible for free under creative common license and I am not doing anything with it, soooo… www.archive.org/details/ac036 < you can find it, listen to it online or download it in many formats here, among other places. I think most of the pieces are a bit too dark for Gunnerkrigg Court (except for parts that involve Zimmy's powers, I guess), but I'll let you judge. I have also many other weird sounds on my computer, so I have the potential capacity (hello pleonasms!) to create more ambiant tracks eventually. Let me know.

Those powerstation ones sound oddly appropriate.

Hey Sandjosieph, your music is incredible - but in the environmental room song on the first page, the music is a little dissonant (okay, just looked at Wikipedia and the meaning of "dissonant" is really complex, but that seems like the right word to me). I'm not a composer or anything; this is just my opinion.

I also like your music sandjosieph, though I feel it should be done on a keyboard with no metronome. The instruments will instantly sound better if they are not in perfect time and if the BPM changes slightly throughout the song.

Ooh, I'd like to do some music for this. Here's some random music I came up with. I was thinking that it could work with either Mort or just random wandering around. Tell me what you think. Take any inspiration from Grant Kirkhope at all?

Hi, this is my first post, but I've been around for some time as a fan. And I'd like to offer some of my music for this project. I compose most of it for my band but some of the songs just don't sound so good on guitars and drums. Like this one: haunt.xf.cz/noty/Robotic.mp3I see it as a kind of robotic/technocratic sentimental/creepy background. The quality of the sound is low, I know, it's just converted from midi. If you tell me what kind of music you need right now (slow, funny, epic, catchy songs, main theme?)... I'll try!

I was thinking about music production for movies, and when I browsed the GKCFP boards again I had the idea that perhaps each chapter should have its own song, instead of composing a bunch of separate songs and splicing them in. This would help keep things fluid and connected. The easiest way to do this would be to record the vocals and edit the video first, then compose some overture of themes tailored to the pacing of the vocals and the video (with certain exceptions where the pacing of the video should be based on the music).

New here, don't want to step on any toes or anything, etc, etc I just had a thought. If all themes were to have, or at least at one point share, approximately the same chord progression, it would be really easy to create new themes. Let me elaborate on that. Say you have Antimony's theme and Kate's theme. If they would follow the same chord progression, one could with ease make an arrangement combining the melody of the two themes, effectively making an "Antimony and Kate" duet theme.

Hi! I have no original music, but I can recommend some music of other artists. The soundtrack of Portal 2 is very gorgeous and mechanical, and contains both sweet, funny, dramatic, and sad sounding music. The soundtracks to Miyazaki movies like "Castle in the Sky" are also lovely, and are more on the "natural" side.

God, I am going to have even less free time now.
I'll be back when I acquire a copy of Sibelius. All my composing is done in LMMS, which lacks MIDI exporting, so I'll have to basically rewrite anything I make for this project.
But this is probably worth it.

I wrote a short thing devoted to that one page where Annie is walking out into the forest; quality sucks and my playing's not the best, but it's something, and people keep talking about real instruments, so here you go. youtu.be/yyHrLSTfFT0

I don't see why not. Wouldn't that be making it a theme and make it even more cohesive? (ok I want to be more involved now that I've finally posted in this part of the forums)

It's unwise to assume about things, so I rather check to see if the people who made these things would want them used under my editing rather then the original team. Meh.

I am taking over the project in theory, I did not start it, nor did I make the first video.

I am taking over the project in theory, I did not start it, nor did I make the first video. You should just go right ahead. I highly doubt anyone would mind, given that you're helping move the project forward, which is what all the stuff was posted for in the first place.

So, I guess this'll be my first post. If you need some folky-sounding melodies (for the woods, maybe?), I can definitely help. Here's some stuff I've made. E: Whoops, just checked the dates. Is this even still going?

Well, since it looks like the project is still going, here's a demo for Chapter 3. It's based on the scene where Annie meets Rey for the first time. Maybe a bit too dark?
