My thoughts exactly Tom, once again you have thrown us for another unexpected loop! He sure is making a habit of that recently. I don't even know where to start sorting out my thoughts, but for now I'm guessing she has a Russian or Polish accent.

Woo, that was awesome! In a comic full of such awesomeness, of course.
I wonder what Brinnie is up to these days. If this whole bit is not pure flashback, I'm sure we'll find out. Someone like that is far too significant not to be a factor in the story - either as an active character or as someone who is gone but not forgotten. And either way I'm looking forward to it.

Ok so we know her name, but now so many more questions...where is she from? What old man? Why is she at GC? Where is she now?

I think we can rule out the theory that she's Parley's mom. Because I think Jones, when talking about Miss Parley's potential as a Medium, would have mentioned this.

She's clearly a Dr. Manhattan ripoff.

I can honestly say that I was not expecting that. *picks jaw up off of floor* I second the motion. Edit: Brinnie's powers might officially be my new favorite thing. As cool as the DonLans' geeky computer etheric voodoo is, something about this is just too cool for words.

ZAM
I had the sudden thought that perhaps Jones in the present does not look as she did in the past. Perhaps the reason she looks so much like Brinnie is because, whether in an accident or for some purpose, they switched bodies.
I've also been wondering if Jones might be originally from the forest. Or maybe, like Aly, she was at the Court to prepare to go to the forest, and she either came back or never went through with it. Something like that could explain why she was at the Court without being a student, so I've been playing with the idea in my head. But with Brinnie's display in the new page, maybe she has some connection to the forest. Her accent could be due to unfamiliarity with human speech, or something like the faeries' dialect.
I wonder who "the old man" is. She could be referring to her father, or it could be descriptive.

Brown eyes? That's a first. They're pretty though.
Also, could this be related to the power station? The whole ZAM thing reminds me of electricity.

I always thought her name might be important so I looked up possible ways how it might be.
Maybe she's Jewish/Yiddish and Brinnie is from Brayne which apparently means Brown... And her eyes, her hair, her accent might make that be so...
Or her name is from Brina, the Slavic way, just to make her maybe Russian... and that means defender, i think.
Or It's from Brinna, or Brenna Celtic for either high/noble/exalted or little drop of water. Her skin tone and powers and mention of an old man might mean.. uh... that her family are former fairies who sought asylum from the fairy world after some sort of revolution deposed their family from ruling it... and uh... they're trying to regain some of their power but as humans this time.
Or... It's kind of a subtle joke and her full name is Sabrina and how she's kind of a teenage witch. xD
... ah.

I can honestly say that I was not expecting that. *picks jaw up off of floor* I second the motion. Motion carried. Just...wow. I like Brinnie! She's pretty cool! Her magic is a bit more...sharp-edged than that of the Donlans. I'm going to assume that "old man" refers to the Headmaster until I am inevitably proven wrong. Wonder if they had the same headmaster back then?

That's very blatant casual magic in the middle of everyone.
That kind of thing doesn't seem to happen around the court this generation.

That was..... unexpected. To say the least. Okay, let's just analyse this a bit: - So her name is "Brinnie". According to the power of Google, Brinnie is a Danish girl's name that seems to be derived from Brinette. Is our mystery girl Danish? - Who's the old man? My guess is that Brinnie is training to be a medium. Possibly that's the only thing she does at the Court anymore. Maybe the old man is the principal? - As for the last two panels..... yeah, I have no idea. This is probably the most impressive display of magic we've seen so far. - This is probably irrelevant, but just last page we also saw Anthony skip lunch to go somewhere...... are they both going to the same place?

So she is foreign. And has a name. And awesome magical powers. O.o
I was so excited over the first panel, and by the time I got to the last one her name hardly seemed important anymore.

Brinnie is related to Coyote? 0.o Wasn't expecting that.
I like her, though.

It seems like both Anthony and Brinnie excused themselves from they're friends. Maybe they're going to the same person, but Anthony's being more subtle? Maybe he doesn't like magic anymore from being pushed to hard by the Old Man? Pretty magic triangles though.

At least we no longer have to call her "Mystery Girl" or "Third Girl in the Photograph", now that we know her name.

Maybe on April Fool's Day Tom will put up a poorly-drawn phony strip where Brinnie pauses mid-teleport, looks back and adds that she has a new boyfriend who's Polish and doesn't speak a word of English, and at the bottom it says 'Also Coyote is Antimony's biological father' and/or any number of other false revelations. It would be the greatest thing.
