What he did was luciferian but he will try to make amends. To be fair, he had decades if not centuries to think about what the second coming of Diego would be so it's unsurprising he tried to force younger Kat in the direction he thought she should go. It's like a life-long Christian meeting Jesus and when they do he's wearing kicks and a fedora, I guess.

Robot is continuing to apologize to Kat for his past actions, as this situation is the first time he's been able to actually talk to her. He's just said that he nearly wasted all the effort that Kat has gone to, helping the New People and such. I'm not sure when he did that, because if he's talking about the Torn Sea incident, that was way back at the beginning of her efforts. Here he continues to beat himself up about it, though, and the bismuth crystal that represents him here seems to be coming apart. Kat seems to be able to stop him from continuing down that path.
Collecting himself a bit more, Robot says that he isn't asking for forgiveness but an opportunity to make amends. Kat's reply is that she still counts Robot as a friend – she's mad at him right now, but she'll get over it. But she adds that Robot's already making amends by helping with this experiment.
Kat had begun experimenting with her pseudo-organic body experiments for the robots at the time of the cruise ship incident where Robot put everyone at risk, but she's done far more since then. What's he talking about? At what point did he jeopardize all the work Kat's done for the New People? It wasn't when he made his deal with Loup – he specified that Loup's end of the bargain was not to interfere with Kat's work or harm any of the New People. He might simply mean that if he'd gotten Kat killed back then, all her work since then wouldn't have happened, but he's saying that he risked squandering all her efforts, and that doesn't mean the same thing as preventing her efforts from having occurred. He must mean something else, and that's making me wonder whether perhaps there's something he did that he hasn't told us yet.

Is low-poly Kat winking in the lower panel? Looking closely at it, I don't think so; I think her right eye texture is just mapped oddly onto that polygon of her face, making it appear larger than it should. I've seen people post renders of low-poly classic video game characters who were only ever seen in profile, so no work was done to make them look normal when seen head on. They look pretty weird when their mirror-textured eyes are both visible.

Sometimes freinds start a cult in your name and manipulated situations if your are spending to much energy on your girlfriend and not enough trying to become God. These things happen, you set boundaries and move forward.

[edit] Because if yes, I hear the other guy does everything he can all the time to look and sound exactly like what a Christ should. [/edit]

That martyr complex keeps coming up and pulling attention away from figuring out what the court is up to. Robot's self-flagellation is serving as a fairly effective distraction from the court's exodus and Omega's plots.
Hmm...

It's more likely a case of a guy being so overwhelmed with guilt and self-pity that he doesn't realize the consequences of his wallowing in it.

I'm under the vague impression that what Robot's really talking about when he refers to "squandering Kat's efforts" is in fact his own martyr complex - Kat invested a lot of time and energy into making Robot a new body, but he was going to try and provoke her into killing him. And he already provoked her into ostracizing his fellow Seraphs!
But then again, he's being so vague that it's entirely possible he's referring to something else. We'll see, I guess?

It's still holding up Annie and Kat solving the problem of the distortion and the Court's plans, but I doubt that Robot is doing it intentionally. (And while it is a bit frustrating from a storytelling point of view, Robot has been in the story from the first chapter and is a major character, so his inner turmoil is of some importance.)
