And as long as Kat doesn't get so interested in finding a way to allow Robot to speak in the ether that she forgets why they're doing this in the first place. |

S13's is just not in a humanoid shape, but I assume that's simply he lacks the NP body and associated transition to fully living being under Ether law. |

but it does seem like they have the solution to planning Meg's surprise birthday party

Maybe this indicates they count as something more than “electrical appliances”, or maybe that’s how they always looked like there. |

Catching up ...
Annie has asked Kat whether she can now look into the Ether, and she has replied "Yes and no," which she now elaborates on. She can "identify and intercept" what she guesses Annie calls the Ether (hey, other people call it that too), and she can also transmit. She claims that her computer "sends it all to [her] directly," but what does that mean? She says it's thanks to Robot, who says hello.
Annie is looking the other way, but it doesn't seem she can see or hear him; she asks if he's OK. Kat wonders about giving Robot Ether access in the future.
So it's still kind of ambiguous how exactly Kat is sending and receiving here; knowing more about this would (or might, anyway) tell us whether Omega can eavesdrop. I'm guessing that Omega would at the very least be able to tell whether Kat, Annie, and Renard were communicating in the Ether, if not what exactly they're talking about. I mean, they'd stop and stand still at the same time.
