Hmm. Well, reading the pages in the correct order doesn't really change my opinion of Bugsy all that much.
It could be that she's slow on the uptake, or she thinks Lavender is sleeping, or she doesn't understand what death means.
EDIT: Or she thinks it's a form of astral projection. ("We can leave our bodies in a comatose state, can't you?") Which would be a wild idea, but it would feel like a cop-out.

After Kat asks Bugsy to teach her what she taught the students to do, Bugsy tells her that all their work is uploaded to a server, which suits Kat just fine, so Bugsy shows her where the server is, and she discovers that, thanks to the distortion, the data is now a pile of seeds. Don't worry, Kat; your computer is half plants now, and it still works, so it's probably compatible!
Annie, still upset and worried, asks Bugsy how she could sleep during all this. She replies, describing the distortion as "that weird, bobbly bubble thing," that everyone else fell asleep (or that's how it looked to her), so she figured she'd catch up on her sleep too. Wink. Tom's comment, "Get it while you can (sleep)," makes a lot more sense attached to this page than it did when it was on the following page.
