Yes, because of his reputation for killing characters. Hopefully Tea-San won't go that far, but he has killed before.

If the mortality limiters are coming off it may be another sign that the end of the comic is approaching.

Hey, wouldn't it be hilarious if Bugsy was perfectly fine, just napping while her students were expiring? yeah so about that

(It's pronounced <Friend>, by the way.) Would that just be the sound of a warm hug?

Upon finding her rabbit and fairy friends, Annie is concerned that Ex-Rabbit is covered in vines too, but we see Shadow in the background confused about why that's a topic of concern (since Annie, Kat, and Renard shielded him from the discovery of the dead former fairy student). Annie then goes into the ether, closing her eyes for a moment while Kat stands there, feeling useless as she said earlier.
Then Annie is back, saying that Ex-Rabbit won't come out of the Ether (perhaps doesn't see a need to) and that <Snuffle> is fine, just very tired. Annie asks whether there are any others who don't have tendrils. They look around, and there's Bugsy, the teacher. She's lying in a chair, half falling out of it, glasses askew. Uh-oh. Is she alive or ... not?
