Omega says something enigmatic about Zeta. That's a good parting shot if one wants to try to stir up doubt and prevent opposition from acting decisively and quickly.

Well, that makes sense. I wonder why she needs to visit the Court's secret areas?

Abducting a chaos agent's only surviving family – Omega is either executing highly disruptive maneuvers to bring about a change (much like Coyote), or she's absolutely delusional.
But a more tantalizing question: what did Zimmy do? Does it have something to do with their similar appearance? Or something more recent?

Well, that makes sense. I wonder why she needs to visit the Court's secret areas? Five quatloos on "retrieve actual brain-in-a-jar, force hoomans to construct robotic vessel to contain consciousness." what did Zimmy do? Does it have something to do with their similar appearance? Or something more recent? Two quatloos on "Zeta's presence was driving her parents literally insane (possibly in a violently-unhinged manner) so she scrubbed their memories of her before running away." That's been a long-running speculation on the forum. Omega's brining it up now not because it's relevant to Omega or the current situation but because she knows that's been haunting Zeta and it might make Zeta go to pieces if Antimony brings it up, thus making the situation worse for everyone other than Omega.

I think Zimmy probably killed an abuser, possibly a magically-empowered one, and that activated her own etheric weirdness.
Would explain her power and her BPDness.

But a more tantalizing question: what did Zimmy do? Does it have something to do with their similar appearance? Or something more recent? In the chapter where Zimmy unifies Annie after a distortion, we see Renard talking to Gamma about this. Gamma says Zimmy claims to have done something horrible before coming to the court. Which is why she is always beating herself up and refuses to believe she deserves any kindness in her life.

Tony may not be accustomed to people randomly touching him. I helped lady at work with her PC. She tried to randomly hug me as thanks, and I instinctively pushed her away. Almost knocked her down. I imagine my face was Tony's in panel 3.

How about "no" and also "no"? Tony, don't be a broken-man-in-distress and voop this oracle in the dumbest place possible, then karate-throw-her-to-the-ground, then voop away by yourself (I know he's not familiar enough with the vooping to do any of that, but a fan can dream...) Also, Annie, DON'T tell Zimmy that "Omega knows what you did".

If I had to guess, I'd say Zimmy's "something terrible a long time ago" is child related. Like she had a younger sibling or something who accidentally died because of her.

After grabbing Tony's left arm mid-sentence, looking as if she was planning to just BWIP away with him, she pauses when Annie asks her what she's doing. Omega states that she can't travel through the distortion alone, an interesting data point. She needs to be with someone who has been to places – which makes sense, since before the distortion she's been inside a machine for over a century. And Tony is apparently ideal, because he's been to a number of places that the Court keeps secret. Tony actually looks emotional here – he may be thinking about some of those places and what Omega might be able to do if she goes to them, and it looks like fear on his face. Omega's last words to Annie before disappearing (or at least that sounds like what she's about to do, anyway) are that she knows what Zimmy did. Presumably she means this incident, the terrible thing Zimmy did before meeting Gamma, which Gamma thinks is the reason why Zimmy sees herself as a bad person who doesn't deserve happiness. Naturally enough, Omega knows what happened, doubtless having fully researched Zimmy's past before suggesting that the Court bring her in. I'm assuming the Court brought Zimmy in at Omega's suggestion, but I don't think that assumption is much of a stretch. It may have had something to do with this, although since Zim Grim is from Zimmy's point of view, it's hard to say what was really happening there, but it's also possible that it happened before that, since Zimmy's personality at the start of Zim Grim doesn't seem too different from what she's like later. So it sounds like Omega's intended destination is somewhere in the interior of the Court, probably a destination from Tony's memories that Omega knows about but has never physically been to, and one where there are people who have benefited from the distortion. It's hard to speculate further, because it's a secret location that we likely haven't seen either. But perhaps we will ...

So, in addition to the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" moment, this "I have to grab somebody to teleport" (because Meg has no memories of her own to exploit?) bit might sort of explain why she appeared to attack Shadow way back here. Annie was just about to out her, and she wanted desperately to escape, so she grabs the nearest person. But Annie wouldn't let go, so we get a whole bunch of Nightcrawler BAMFs instead.

You can't pick your nose without washing your hands when an omniscient being is around, Zimmy. Or if you do, your secret will get out.

I think you may be right. Either this or the “terrible thing a long time ago” theory seem most plausible to me. Also, unrelated, but after 10. Years of forum membership I have just now finally achieved “Gunner” status! Woohoo! 🎉

I'm jumping back on board this theory too, now that it's relevant again.
Quick reminder for those not familiar with the theory that it's based on Tom's old Formspring, where he delivered (among other things) the delightfully ominous line that "If [Zimmy's parents] could remember her, they would be glad she is gone."

What did Zimmy do?
1. Kissed another girl (not Gamma) 2. Sharpened her teeth so she'd look scary 3. Made a deal with Coyote

GUYS.....If this distortion is stable....does that mean Gamma is dead? Or is Zimmy + Coyote just too much for her to help dissipate? ...That honestly hadn't occurred to me, but you know what, valid question! We don't really know anything whatsoever about Gamma's situation right now, especially because - for some reason - nobody has seen fit to mention her during all this conversation about Zimmy. And one could certainly interpret Omega's remark about the distortion being "stable" as implying that Gamma is not around to provide a destabilizing force.
However, I'm gonna say that's probably not the case, for several reasons: a) Occam's Razor. We don't know of any particular reason why Gamma WOULD be dead, but we do know that Coyote is an actual god, and thus kind of out of her weight class by default, as far as etheric power goes.
b) Coyote and Loup's presence aggravating Zimmy's powers while Gamma's presence counteracts them in (nearly) equal measure could plausibly be the very equation which is creating the stable distortion, despite Omega not mentioning her. c) I know the comic has been a bit darker than usual lately, but killing a character that's practically the very personification of innocence OFF-PANEL seems like a little much for Tom, even so. At least, in my opinion.

All valid and reassuring points. Though as far as point C....we haven't yet been shown what happened when Coyote and Loup Jerrick (your welcome for those who get the pun) collided with Zimmy and Gamma. It could just be that "on-screen" hasn't happened for them yet. And while killing Gamma does seem out of character with Tom's writing style, the fact remains that we currently just don't know yet.

In addition to the abuse we've seen from her, I've always kind of assumed Zimmy has killed and/or driven people mad with her power just from subtext, so this doesnt feel like a "you've done bad things in the past" message to me, rather a "you had a hand in this". Aside from time travel shenanigans with her and Omega being the same person or something like that, my only guess is she has helped the Court more then she has let on. But maybe I'm just reading into it to much and it's just Omega being rude. I mean, she could say that to anyone about anything they've ever done if I understand her power correctly.
