Looks like Omega and the Omega device are indeed the same thing. Additionally Antimony is the boy girl who lived. No Harriet Potter jokes, please. I heard enough in the earlier days of the comic from haters. She no longer has the scar so whatever.

Interesting that the distortion allowed Omega to form a new body.

The Noobs are a fairly big and expanding group of individuals that are in the Court but concealed from the higher-ups so they're a tempting cover. I suspect Omega was technically inside the Court already, though she may have chosen to be a Noob for the same reason. That, and because it would allow her directly into Kat's work areas to check out her tech.

Honestly, Omega looks rather cute on this page, with that sort of "Sorry I lied all this time" apologetic smile on her face. And rather calm about the whole thing, like it's no big deal to be forming a new body more than a century after her last one deteriorated. No wonder she seemed to be really happy earlier, she was probably glad to get to experience life again in an actual body for a while. I'm sure there were some aspects of it she missed, like smell and physical touch, though I do think she probably justified losing her human senses as worth it to achieve her goal. Interesting she formed a body very similar to the way she looked in her youth minus the red eyes.
I do wonder if she'll regret having to go back to basically being stuck permanently on the ethernet after this all ends. If it ever does. I know it's been a short amount of time in-universe (webcomic time and all) but this has lasted quite some time to tell in the real world. It also explains why she looked a bit pouty and out-of-sorts at times before this, I believe one page even said "Out of the loop" beneath it, which would be quite a vexing state for her to be in. Even if her predictions are less accurate, I'm sure she can still make some that are on the nose, so to not know what is going on would be something she might dislike.

Except than in Omega's case it's much more probable that it was a natural fact or consequence rather than a choice, with her being a more-machine-than-human cyborg.

AAAAAAND many people (including me) will not get cookies.
1. The girl who should not be is not Kat, the story went down the easiest path and chose Annie. Kat would be an interesting plot twist.
2. Omega did not hack into Kat's computer even though Omega is now a computer. Instead, our esteemed author opted for the simpler plot device of magic. "God did it". Also, if it's the distortion, Omega had no agency in being a NP, she ended up there "by accident", "because God wanted it".
[EDIT] Of course she knew in advance she would be a New Person, because she knows stuff. But she did not chose it.

They are simpler plot choices but I also think they make the most sense to me as a casual reader aha: it was stated several times that Annie's existence is an anomaly (THE anomaly) and Zimmy's distortions have often been a twisted mirror revealing things and feelings that haven't manifested but aren't illusions either. Maybe when the real world is twisted (Twin Annies,Omega losing her humanity, Robot larping Lucifer) it untwists/unveils it?

This page does imply that Omega had some agency in forming her current body. I wonder how. She's likely unique in this.
Although Robot turned into a worm, which defintely corresponds to how he feels. So maybe their cases are similar, but Omega had more control due to her powers.

Is it just me but this distortion body event was surprising to her at least She has seemed surprised and curious this whole time. Like this is a fresh new adventure. Which it is I suppose. I was noticing that on this page she seems very carefree almost. Her apology is a "hey, sorry for that little faux pas caused by misunderstanding" type of thing. She seems to just be enjoying herself now that she is finally here where she can talk to Annie.

Its interesting that Omega is does not seem upset that Annie muddles her predictions, but is rather intrigued. Perhaps it is interesting, even exciting to suddenly *not* be able to predict everything, for the universe to be able to surprise you, puzzle you, even amaze you for the first time in, like, forever. Life goes from boringly rote to technicolor surprise all at once. Omega wants to understand this, not stop it, at least, not immediately.

This is an obnoxious but appropriate time to remind us that the similarity between "Antimony" and "Anti-nomy" been evident for the whole series.

Locked in a box or locked up in a perfectly predictable timeline, either way could be maddening. I'd be happy to be free of both.

I didn't find it surprising that Omega was able to form a new body. It's a big reality distortion and stuff was said a couple of times in the sepia pages that suggest Omega's mind is connected to the ether/in tune with the world in a way similar to how gods know things when they want to and/or how Zeta is connected to the ether. We've seen her bwip at will. She may be able to do even more than what we've seen... as long as the distortion keeps going. The main question now is what Omega's relationship with Zeta is. Speaking of the sepia pages, the only thing in color through the sepia pages were Omega's eyes and the gauges (displays?) on the Omega device once she was in there. That is reminiscent of Zeta's eyes (when the soot is removed). Is Zeta a descendent or perhaps even a child of Omega somehow? Is Zeta an accidental or experimental creation, a result of the Court's tinkering or some other etheric effect? In that case she's Omega's mini-me. Or is the red just a coincidence, something that can happen to people who're attuned to the ether in a way they can't control well? Can Omega with the power of the distortion help Zeta? Or will Kat accidentally kill Zeta before that happens? If Zeta does die, does that matter at all in this distortion? Would it be an improvement?

I don't know about this claim. Reality (with the Ether extension) seems to reject Zimmy, whereas Annie seems to be part of it, like Coyote and Kat. She is even a psychopomp. What is Zimmy's place and role? I would say that Annie by herself can't be the event distorting the future, but she might simply be the thing that stands out as a result of the distortion (like a lens flare), and that Zimmy is more likely the girl who should not be.
