If this is Paz's abuela, or some ancestor of Zimmy (because this is clearly not taking place "in the present time"), I guess we're lucky that Tom was kind enough to turn on the translation convention for us.

Nobody thinks this is a new character? I do. Maybe an ancestor of one we know though. Perhaps Omega. If this girl's mind ends up inside a Babbage machine which eventually evolves into Omega, well, I'd have to speculate that she is still a different person. Maybe not though. I could almost see Tom making her be the Countess Ada Lovelace though, just for the recursive geek jokes. I will also state that I don't think we are in the court. We might be seeing the founding of the court, or events that led to that.

Oh, she TALKS through animals???
Is that why Anthony Carver was in the Amazon with Annie's mom researching slugs j̶u̶s̶t̶ before she died?

And Omega is, of course, Paz. Paz's great-grandmother. And Omega is, of course, Paz. It's actually just Paz grandmother. And she set up the granddaughter to date the newest gAwd Yeah, this! Animals talk through Paz. This person (not yet confirmed to be omega) talks through animals. She's also from Soviet Russia . Laughed so hard that my wife came to see if I was alright.

An older Steadman, perhaps? Or are we about to meet the artilleryman himself? Steadman’s hair was all spiky. Animals talk through Paz. This person (not yet confirmed to be omega) talks through animals. Henceforth, we shall call her Zap. Makes sense. Until any evidence to the contrary, she is Zap. :] Er… There are Annie and RotD dude. Where’s the crow?

I think you linked to the wrong page; there is no crow here as far as I can see.

An older Steadman, perhaps? Or are we about to meet the artilleryman himself? My guess too. This is so close to the end that I think most new characters will be ones alluded to but not seen so far. The new person being Omega is a good example of this. And the Artilleryman is the Court Founder that we have seen little of but whose split with the rest of the Court always felt like something significant. The Artilleryman? Have we on him more than a mention in the Medium teaching simulation and another on the Realm of the Dead?
I'm learning words on this forum: "sepiatone","lapel",...
My selection from the temporary comments:
Uh : "Uh… was Omega the bismuth seed?? it was something on the ground they all gathered around in the depictions…" Oooooooh...
1. I love this art style and I want Tom's next comic to look like this Already thinking about the next twenty years? Looks like you're not alone.
Lumi :"Yeah, that's the style Tom should completely dive in, in my opinion. Great page. So what's Omega's real name? And she is clearly a human from a different time. Is that one of the Court's representatives?" Soma : "How intriguing. Like a whole spin-off. Exactly what the doctor ordered."
Granny Weatherwax vibes here. No, that's just you.
Ryusui : "SHE ATEN'T DEAD" katie : "Omega aten't dead" Sst : "I ATE'NT DEAD"
Photo Ops : "Ah, perhaps back to the early days of The Court? Might this be The Artilleryman or one of his cohort? Some additional long delayed back story is much appreciated. - Might this young lady be Alpha?" Right, because there are still 21 letters in the greek alphabet left to introduce as characters.

I noticed that, but I'm not sure how intentional it is... only Tom knows, of course.

Wild spec Omega was the arrow all along (and this woman like the chip in Kat's neck is one and the same with her now) that's why Zimmy says Kat will use Omega to kill her

Extremely good catch. If that's not a bird, I'll eat a goddamn hat. The little dots and swoop in the design reminded me of the "many eyes" and furled plumage of the TicToc, but the beak is clearly befitting of a corvid.

Whoa. Cool. But also, this hints at additional (and probably unsavoury) shenanigans, one way or another.
