I did an entire atomic physics degree and never noticed until just now that the letter omega kinda looks like a lady with a 50s bob.

I am somewhat lost. Who is Omega? Have we heard of her before? First I've heard of her. Yes, we've heard of her. First Tony mentioned it when Annie was spying on him talking with Donald in Sneak. Then in Getaway, young Tony pulled out a document with the Omega symbol on it, retconning the whole thing into existence since Kat and Annie's parents were much younger. Then in The Forest Released, after Aata gets himself kicked out of the shadow men for using his magic to save Shell from Loup, they mention Omega. Then in Behind it All you see Zimmy and Loup both becoming aware of Omega somehow. Then later, in the chapter after the new people show up, Shell spills the beans on Omega to both Kat and Antimony, and tells Antimony she should ask her dad about it. Then in Knowledge of Everything, Antimony gives Loup/Jerreck a synopsis of what she learned from her father off screen. Then even more later, in Confessions, Antimony and Kat meet up with Shell and Aata at brunch and Aata tells them even more things about Omega. Basically, this plot point has been a slow build since 2017. Omega is a secretive prediction machine built by the court with which the shadow men have been involved. Its (her?) predictions started being less accurate after Annie came back after being knocked off the bridge by the possessed Robot. This is because Katerina Donlan sent a robot bird back in time to save Annie from dying. The prediction machine is not super good at dealing with time shenanigans it seems. The inaccuracy of Omega after predicting things accurately for so long is part of why the Court is now obsessed with sending the perfectly normal humans with no magic powers to another universe across the Star Ocean to reinvent science from first principles. They're going to be upset when they discover Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle.

"OMEGA DETECTED. PLEASE STAND BY"
"Captain, what is Omega?"
"Have all senior officers meet me in the ready room."

"OMEGA DETECTED. PLEASE STAND BY" "Captain, what is Omega?" "Have all senior officers meet me in the ready room." Anyone who can quote TNG at will is my childhood friend. EDIT: but a more accurate quote would refer to the observation lounge.

People's reaction to the use of Omega here puts me in mind of the Doors song:
"This is the end, beautiful friend This is the end, my only friend The end of our elaborate plans The end of everything that stands"

The lack of the end-of-chapter symbol and final gag page was kinda ominous

So. The Mystery New Person denies being Zeta and claims to be Omega, end of chapter, and now ... the next chapter is called Omega. Hey, I guess we might learn something about Omega in this chapter! I'll bet it'll come with more questions than answers, as usual, but that's part of the fun of GKC, really. Well, even if MNP turns out to be lying, maybe the real Omega will show up.

Joke's on us - the whole comic has been an elaborate ad for fish oil. The cruelest joke since "drink your ovaltine"
