His little feet still look like interconnects. I wonder what would happen if someone put him in a big enough computer.

His little feet still look like interconnects. I wonder what would happen if someone put him in a big enough computer. I think his whole "bug" body resembles his CPU, not only connector legs but also with the green and blue body colour and little horns like on the bismuth symbol. But I wonder what the red tail end is supposed to mean. Damage? Special connection added to connect with flesh body?

A caterpillar. Now things went full Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Sounds about right. Piling this much drama and angst on top of Zimmy’s goth town setup was bound to cause desensitization, sooner rather than later.

If he's got a stinger it might represent his ability to deceive and manipulate.

Definitely the starting point of the crustacean/ bug-adjacent business we saw before, right? There's stuff about the capital-O (she gave us an) Ocean + his big zealotry turning point taking place at sea. If the new consciousness/New Humanity is the ocean, this form casts him as what? A bottom-feeding parasite? The loathsome-looking thing that nevertheless acts as a "cleaner" (much like barnacles)? The wings coming away without any indication of connection could align with how far he's fallen from his Seraph model. But I'm also thinking of the darkly humorous fact that some birds love eating barnacles and little sea bugs. The Seraphs are definitely bullying him, sure. But Kat has had bird imagery since almost day 1.

Well, since Annie got side tracked, someone needed to pick up the slack and resume asking our mysterious dark haired friend "Who are you.' Quick, someone fetch a mushroom and a pipe, R-buddy is woefully under accessorized since Shadow freed him from that carapace.

Fascinating. So his CPU was not turned into a seed with interconnects, but this caterpillar still has some IC imagery.
Also: I cannot unsee Shadow having four closed eyes in the last panel.

Robot: Uh, Shadow, this is one of my parasites. You should probably wash your hands. It’s more likely S13 broke down into a bunch of incomplete “aspect” entities (see e.g. Alpha Flag).

Robot is really getting on my nerves right now. I've dealt with people in real life who love to play the "oooh I'm such a horrible person, you should all hate me!" card, while wallowing in a gross enjoyment of the shame. Even his worm form annoys me because it's just the flipside of the shame coin. Instead of a loathsome monster he is now just a small, wretched bug (often deemed gross, ugly, frightening by many) a lowly crawling thing that deserves nothing good. Yeah, some of my response is probably cynicism born of personal experience but until Robot starts showing something real, I have zero sympathy or gentleness towards him.

Robot's body has been upgraded a couple of times since his original S13 body; his CPU is probably the only part remaining of his "true self," as the other Seraphs might put it.
It's going to be really awkward if the Distortion lifts and Shadow is hugging a CPU, with discarded Robot body shell parts lying around.

Sorry if I go a bit off-topic, but that reminded me of something. I recently re-read the whole comic and noticed how the topic of spirits entrapped in toys was not explored further. Clearly Hettie, the demonic shrimp, got intentionally trapped in a doll to be sold as a possessed living toy. Looks like it's similar case to Renard, with the symbol on forehead and all. Also I noticed that before re-reading the comic I was falsely convinced it was directly said in the comic that wolf toy was purposely made by Surma in a way to capture Renard if he tries to possess Annie. I incorrectly remembered that page, forgot Annie was saved by Eglamore and just thought the doll automatically sucked Renard in. Well, as it turned out, wolf was just a toy and Renard is just able to possess even artificial objects, as long as they have eyes and the reason why he's trapped is because Annie owns the toy, it just works that way with objects being possessed instead of living creatures. The Court is not familiar with these mechanics (so Hettie must have been made outside of Court by someone who knows better how this works). Or is it? Because as I think about it now, as you mentioned the Robot's bug form reminding you of Hettie's shrimp form, I am thinking now that Robot might actually also be a spirit trapped in an object. Maybe that's what that blue part was for and why there's the bismuth symbol on the CPU, meaning Robot belongs to Court. The CPU doesn't have eyes, but it wasn't confirmed that this applies to all body-stealing spirit's, maybe it's only Renard's rule. And also, maybe it was put into the CPU through S13's whole body, using his mechanical eyes? Maybe there actually are some kind spirits trapped in the robots, maybe that's why Kat needed to use that arrow? BTW, as I re-read the comic, I came to conclusion I still do not fully understand how was that whole thing with Kat using the arrow worked. For some reason Kat decided to give Rey back to Annie using the arrow as some sort of proxy, or just hooking it up to them to see how it react to Rey changing owners? And then in some way she used the arrow to put robots into new bodies, I don't really know how and why (only remember now that it messed up with "contract" of Renard belonging to Annie, so the ghost guys had to change it and make him be her familiar). TL;DR Robot could be a spirit trapped in an object, like Renard and Hettie.

I don't know what I expected under all the feathers and barnacles, but it was NOT that.
Maybe he'll change into a beautiful butterfly! One with six wings and a hundred eyes...

Upset by this façade that Robot's been maintaining, Shadow pulls feathers, stomps up barnacle shells like they're a staircase as Annie and the Mystery New Person watch, and makes his way to Robot's core self, as represented in this distortion: some kind of green-blue-red horned arthropod thing, with a lot of feet that look a lot like the pins of a CPU. He sadly picks it up and cuddles it.
So in the actual reality, whatever that means, did Shadow just remove Robot's CPU? If we saw the CPU normally, would it still have that little extra bit on top of it, or has that just been smashed? Or was Shadow's rampage purely allegorical – was the only smashing emotional?
This is the most touching intervention involving a centipede-slug with barnacles and angel wings that I've ever seen.

Just to point out, like some people already have on the page's comments (and here too, thanks for ninjaing me Gemini Jim), this is actually Robots's chip in the Distortion. The colors, the legs are the side-pins, the eyes look a little like two leds, the horns from the bismuth symbol, and the tail... Well, the tail is just a barnacle thing... hopefully. So, I guess Shadow just destroyed Robot's body then. Not an abusive relationship at all!
