And Annie saw Kat Angel and said nothing long ago (freeing Jeanne and her Elf). She talked to Kat about it afterwards, but in the end they both had no idea what had been going on. Not sure what else Annie should have said? Presumably back then she assumed that it was Etheric illusion stuff that made Kat look like she did. After all, the elf dude and the lock keeping his soul tethered also looked very differently to her.

Big plot revelation: The Seraphs will be revealed to actually be designed by FAS, not Diego, and are part of the Chariot line. By the way: who are the FAS?

This (Court completely dettached from Earth) has been suggested by other forumers before, but I strongly disagree. It's not the entire Court, just some neighbourhoods near the coast by the Etheric Ocean. The image implies just that.

Spoiler alert! Bigger plot revelation: the Court (which has not been on Earth for some time) is revealed to have been founded by Far Zenith, and tbe distortion invoked by the collision of Loup, Coyote, and Zimmy is Nemesis. Plot revelation: "Omega" is actually a corrupted Apollo. It falls to Annie to set things right. (It would be fun to imagine character crossovers) Certainly! By the way: who are the FAS? Faro Automated Solutions* is a corporation that manufactured robots in the mid-21st century; it appears in the Horizon series. *BIG SPOILER WARNING!

I've seen it before here in the forums, but I don't have the slightest idea of what it may be. It means "original gangster", as far as I know originally comes from gangsta rap, meaning an oldschool type who has been around for a long time and is "real". But these days it's used online to just mean "original".

FAS stands for 'Faro Automated Solutions' and comes from the game 'Horizon Zero Dawn'. It has nothing to do with Gunnerkrigg Court, apart from featuring a red-haired protagonist. It can be fun imagining character crossovers.

I've seen it before here in the forums, but I don't have the slightest idea of what it may be. Huh, good question. I actually had to look it up for the etymology. It’s slang for “original” (the meaning I’m familiar with) originating from the term “Original Gangster.” (somehow in my head this was “original generation. I’m not sure how I jumped to that conclusion. Brains are weird.🤷🏻) With the first known example in print appearing on an album by rapper Ice-T released in 1991. From MW, it looks like the term was used as far back as the 1970s by members of the Crips in in LA before making the leap to the mainstream. www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/OGAnyway, I was using it to mean “the original, pre-tic tic tic making Kat from the original timeline where Annie died and there wasn’t yet a timeloop. Come to think of it, there are a number of characters Annie has had an outsized impact on who would not have met Annie at all if the tic tocs hadn’t saved her: * Coyote * Ys * Jack Hyland * The Suicide Fairies * Parley and Smitty I’m sure there are more, but my brain is fried right now.

As a counterbalance to OPP here's some nice wholesome Spockwave. What can I say, I’m old and I’ve lived a lot of life. People are messy. Very rarely do we make the optimal decisions or act from a state of wise mind without some of our base emotions bleeding into our choices. I'm so old that I go into restaurants and order mushroom burgers expecting that something involving a meat patty will appear. In my experience stuff does get easier as one gets older. Not being a kid helps, gaining experience helps, and I've also gotten better at managing. Just like it's possible to set yourself up for bad decisions people can learn to set themselves up for good ones. I've found it particularly useful to talk things out, with others when available or with myself if necessary, and to build free time into my schedule for the things that come up so I'm less crunched when things go wrong. I don't always apply those strategies perfectly but it helps.

As a counterbalance to OPP here's some nice wholesome Spockwave. I’ll see your Spockwave and raise you one peppy little ditty about a certain Hobbit. Gosh golly, I love you for this. OG Spock brings so much joy to my heart. I decided to do a rewatch of TOS when Strange New Worlds dropped and fell in love with Nimoy all over again. Back when I was a mere babe, I was lucky enough to catch one of him at Harvard on one of his last speaking tours and I picked up signed copies of a few of his photography books. He was such an absolute gem of a human. And the on screen friendship between Spock, Kirk, and McCoy? 🤌🏻 Speaking of formative friendships, that’s one for the ages. TOS is such a brilliant hot mess of low-tech thrills; cringeworthy wtf moments; epic, genre redefining storytelling, casting, and character development. WOW, look at that run on sentence go! What can I say, I’m old and I’ve lived a lot of life. People are messy. I don't always apply those strategies perfectly but it helps. Heh, your getting older and my getting older look very, very different friend. 😉 All the experience in the world can’t offset the difficulties inherent in managing a major, degenerative chronic illness. I do get ALL the cool accessories, but it doesn’t make up for an auto immune system that likes to chew on my central nervous system like a naughty puppy with a power cord. To similar results. I’m currently in the ER for the second time in as many weeks and unfortunately this isn’t even close to my record for wild and wacky body trauma! I’ve been saying all I want for Christmas is 12 boring months and Santa keeps papering my head with the entire contents of this season’s hottest shoe catalogs. Even when I’m not being showered with the latest fashion in footwear, my free time tends to get gobbled up by debilitating fatigue and doing my best to navigate an inaccessible world. Disability does provide ample opportunity to develop problem solving skills, practice resourcefulness, and hone one’s sense of humor. Still, I’d really love to just hit pause on the onslaught of fun new challenges and switch the settings over to easy mode for a spell.

Heh, your getting older and my getting older look very, very different friend. 😉 Your mileage may vary. Seriously, though, sorry to hear you're having a rough time. Hang in there, guy. I just had to add, my “so old…” routine includes a first class “old man yells at clouds and shakes stick at sky” impression with a fun assortment of sticks in all sorts of colors and configurations. Some days, it’s not even an impression. 🤣 One great thing about this forum is I'm pretty sure there's three people on it who're older than I am. I’d really love to just hit pause on the onslaught of fun new challenges and switch the settings over to easy mode for a spell. I like to tell myself that this is the most awesome time in human history to be alive and think about how the progress of technology has been amazing to witness and how that makes up for anything I've had to endure. Heck, with social media you can effectively watch public access tv 24/7 with nary a repeat, see actual armed robots killing people on the news, check out vtubers doing what's essentially radio comedy bits, and even watch video gameplay footage green-screened onto a literal butt. We've come so far, so very far. Holy crap there was a video? I have some very vague memories of listening to Presents and Two Sides on vinyl at somebody's house circa late 1970s-early 1980s (way after they came out) but I was 70% sure I had hallucinated the hobbit one and had no idea there was ever a video. I'm guessing it was for some variety show around when Two Sides came out (minus the footage of the modern LOTR of course)? He was such an absolute gem of a human. Never met Nimoy, oddly enough did work briefly in a building adjacent to one he allegedly worked in decades prior. I guess the closest I came to meeting any of the TOS cast was the parking lot, STL convention, 1976. I'd convinced my mother to take me; sadly when we got to the door the guests and programs weren't posted as such, which made her think there were none, so without any further fact-finding she threw a sh1tfit and left (a big enough sh1tfit that if any of you happened to be in the lobby at that moment you might remember her). The only thing I've got to show for it is an unlicenced wooden replica Enterprise from one of the vendors in the parking lot which I still have to this day. Aw yeah, TOS had a great ensemble and some good writing. Honestly, the FX weren't that bad for the day. They might have done the franchise a favor if they'd tightened up the worldbuilding consistency earlier but it gave more latitude to the writers.

see actual armed robots killing people on the news Meanwhile, I, not old yet, read this and think you're talking about watching the news when an armed robot barges into the studio and kills the newscaster. Well, they were already dead, but I think the souls of Jeanne and her boyfriend count. Loup wouldn't even have been created. And if you count people she had already met, but still had a sizeable impact on... * Nobody would have saved S13 from robot prison. * Jeanne would still haunt the Annan waters. * Nobody would have brought Shadow 2 back to the Court. * The Court couldn't have gotten Anthony to come back by threatening him to expel Annie. I wonder if they would have contacted him in the case of Annie's death, and how he would have reacted. Honestly, I think all bets would have been off there. * Renard would have been freed. The question is, would Eglamore have tried (and managed) to apprehend him in this moment? He seemed somewhat preoccupied. * Not to mention the impact on Kat herself... ...and the fact that all this Loup business, attacks, destruction etc. wouldn't have happened. Meaning, if there's really an original timeline in which Annie died and Kat still got to time travel to bring her back, it must look radically different.

* Nobody would have brought Shadow 2 back to the Court. I guess Shadow could have still hidden on Annie's corpse or personal effects, though he probably would have chosen to stay in the Forest. Oh, that's easy. Without Zimmy's interference, Tony's ritual with the demons would have actually worked, and the combined shade of Annie and Surma and all their foremothers would have been raised from the dead. Then he would return to the Court as an insane necromancer with a flaming banshee grandmotherdaughterwife and take the traumatized Kat under his wing until she became the Fallen Machine Angel. Accompanied by the sadistic Radical Behaviorist Beastmistress Paz ("is no cause for concern, my mice only sound like they beg for mercy!"), Kat would...anyway, the Court would proceed with its research projects as in the usual timeline. Except with more screaming. Maybe? Hetty wasn't freed when her owner died, though. Perhaps Annie had already made a decision about who would inherit Renard if something happened to her. Or perhaps, since she wasn't Renard's intentional summoner, ownership of the doll would simply pass to her next incarnation, or to Tony as her closest relative. In which case Renard would eventually join the happy family above, and would pursue a twisted love triangle with Necro-Tony and the Fire Ghost. (Dialogue guest-written by Chris Claremont.)

* Nobody would have brought Shadow 2 back to the Court. I guess Shadow could have still hidden on Annie's corpse or personal effects, though he probably would have chosen to stay in the Forest. The Court didn't seem terribly preoccupied about retrieving Annie, dead or alive. Yeah, but it was also made very explicit that the original owner of the Hetty doll had left it to her brother in writing. I don't think there will be any next incarnation if she dies without having a child.

I guess Shadow could have still hidden on Annie's corpse or personal effects, though he probably would have chosen to stay in the Forest. The Court didn't seem terribly preoccupied about retrieving Annie, dead or alive. But Kat would have still gone to look for her, and if she found her body (and wasn't killed by Jeanne), I'm pretty sure the Donlans would insist on retrieving it. Making an anti-gravity hearse would be Dark Kat's first project! It was, but we don't know if the actual writing was necessary for the inheritance. I mean, Surma probably didn't give Annie a written title for the wolf doll, and it's hard to believe that Saslamel makes Clippy read everyone's diary everywhere for potential statements of ownership. Perhaps a verbal offer or the simple intent of giving is enough. My (carefully calculated and expertly researched) alternate timeline assumes that Tony would go through with raising her/Surma's ghost, and that ghost might still be the doll's owner. Just wildspeccing here.
